FIFA 22 Discussion (Console Versions)

so i just go here: https://www.ea.com/en-gb/ea-play ...and sign up for 1 month subscription for 99 cent and i'm good to test play FIFA22 for 10 hours starting September 22nd?!

as an amateur keeper for over 20 yeas, and enjoying that manual keeper part in FIFA for a long time, i am really excited by this organic behaviour. those overhand saves just look amazing and appropriate. love it!
GK are really greats! They were better befor the patch of the beta but you will see toon of news animations 👌

Player attributes and team styles don't appear to restrict the ability to do this in any meaningful way, nor do they provide an advantage in playing differently. Passing is so accurate with every player, and defending so impossible, you just take it in turns attacking with possession never changing hands. So why would you, or the AI, ever do anything else - unless it's simply to give the ball away and very obviously "throw the game"?

This sums up my issue with a lot of football games, namely the recent ones. The patterns of play are so predictable and unrealistic, it boils down to the following: Partake in the jarring, guided tour because it's the path of least resistance or subvert the game's expectations to your own detriment. Often times, I'll take the circuitous route by attempting the spectacular just to stave off my own boredom or to avoid the easy and obvious avenue of advancement. Otherwise, what's the point? I can drive a truck through the midfield of PES 2021 and FIFA 21 which makes chance creation a trivial, monotonous affair (yes, even on FUMA). It's eerily similar to FIFA mobile where each player takes turns attacking by starting at the half-way line.

Instead of play unfolding in a seemingly organic nature that's predicated on the parameters of the players and teams in question, you end up with a homogenized experience. Why bother with intricate play, technicians, specialists, formulating strategy and tactics when I can literally just make a b-line for the opposition's penalty area? It's tantamount to playing a puzzle game where all 50 stages are the same puzzle. I can't say it's very stimulating.

I suppose the answer is to play online, but I've been there and done that. I've been in a high ranked Pro Clubs team, I've played in leagues, I've gone hard on FUT, 2v2 Seasons, the whole works. It's satisfying to win, but you're beholden to your opposition and we all know how that plays out. If I'm going to be exploited in an impractical fashion, I'd prefer it to be done by the AI as opposed to giving satisfaction to another person. :SMUG:

Ok so forget this video, best of montage - false advertising, lol.

Watching the 1st full match in saturators post and it's as bad as we all remember, ice skating galore.

Aren't the videos you're referring to from FIFA 21 and not FIFA 22?

How do you properly fix that AI without completely changing how the game works?
You don't, and that's why sliders don't work in trying to achieve this. They make small tweaks to what's already there, how weak or strong the effect of a certain variable is etc. They can't create new logic for how the AI goes about this stuff, or fix fundamental issues with how the game was designed.

As for the video a few pages back - it looks nice, can't deny that; however, I think you could compile and edit together enough clips of any of the previous 3 or 4 diabolical FIFAs showing similar kinds of nice shots, blocks, animations in isolation to make them look fantastic. That kind of grainy filmed footage always makes football games look more real as well. We've seen enough actual gameplay videos of 22 to know it's still a 1v1fest with awful defensive AI, skating/sliding, super twitchy physics defying players etc.

I gotta admit that net physic on this video is what we ever wanted pes/fifa wise, at the same time you realize guys it only took decades to implement that physic :LMAO:
..... and the funniest part for me is this physic & AI animations will be available on xbox series S because pc can't handle it and is dead in the corner :LMAO:

On the one side I hope u guys all get the fifa you want, on the flip side I hope they fail again miserably because of that and other bs.

Oh you're right. Deleted my post. Sorry, this was confusing, wasn't expecting 21 videos now.

God, those 21 videos look terrible though, haha.
Yeah it's not FIFA 22 footage. Not before the date. I don't want to be striked by EA. Game changer show the game today. I expect nothing good, only fast gameplay!

Yeah, 99% of them today are just cards, coins and other shit. And then faster, faster faster, faster

I can tell you now that the guy has said this is the best version of fifa 22 from all he has played including beta before update and after update.

Watching it now.

He said gk are better than both beta ver and its pleasant to play vs ai. Many mistakes and randomnes, they dont play tiki taka all over the pitch

Also he said in the end that it is like much upgraded fifa 15. Overall he said the game is really good.

Hopefully the patch on the release day will make this game even better.

Just watched it and it looks shit.

every shot is a goal. Every other attack is a 1v1 with the keeper.
One score line in that video reads 2-7.

looks like another year of fifa16 for me but will wait for other videos before I make a final conclusion.

Still better than Barca - Bayern 2:8 😂

Maybe it looks like every shoot is a goal because he showed only these moments where there was a goal and didn’t show anything with goalkeeper saves.
He said that goalkeepers are very good and making some incredible saves.

I have a good feeling that player vs player this game on manual will be amazing.

Watching on Twitch. Everybody playing FUT and cricket score lines. Unbearable to watch these streamers there all about packs and ratings care little about realism.

These so-called game changers and YouTube screaming heads have ruined any chance of ea making a simulation game. All it is now is harlem gloabtrotters on a football pitch.
New slogan….
Fifa street is on the pitch!

That Man Utd v Leeds Career Mode footage looks awful. Actually, it looks like FIFA. That’s how FIFA looks and plays and has done for years.

And why, in 2021, on a PS5, do certain players still look like wrestlers?! Harry Maguire for example still looks terrible, his shoulders are massive!

EA assume that if a player is a CB then he MUST also be huge.

Also - question: will this be on EA Play Gamepass on Thursday?

I wanted to try it before buying, what’s my options here in UK (either PS5 or Series X I’m on both platforms, would prefer PS5 though as prefer the controller for football gaming).
