FIFA 22 Discussion (Console Versions)

That video looks fantastic, hopefully it 'feels' good to play as well, as players in Fifa have always lacked weight in my experience.

There's so little sliding I can see in that clip that I'm really intrigued. Either the clips have been cherry-picked, it's a post-beta version (don't see how that's possible), or the last-gen (no Hypermotion) version is less slidey... Leaning towards the latter, which would be absolutely ridiculous.

It does appear to be improved based on what I played of the beta, but it's difficult to tell with such little snippets. It's 100% current-gen since the last-gen version doesn't have the improved nets or that sort of visual fidelity (ie Sancho's hair moves which only occurs on the PS5/XSX). A lot of the clips are from FUT which would indicate it's from the beta. If this person somehow got a hold of a copy early, I don't think he'd be able to access the FUT 22 servers. Keepers seem like they're from the pre-patch, but again, who knows.

I'm bummed because if the gameplay turns out to be good or even tolerable, we're limited to console hardware. The lack of modding is really going to stifle my interest in the long run. At least FIFA is more or less good to go as a package right out of the gate in terms of presentation and leagues.

Idiot question coming up.
Did they develop two versions of the game?
Are there two complete separate builds, or are current gen/PC downgraded (locked?)
Is there no possibility to "unlock" those via mods?

Correct.

The PS5, XSX, and Stadia have the best version of the game in terms of visual fidelity and more importantly, gameplay. The last-gen versions will not have the HyperMotion technology, so say goodbye to all of the fancy the new animations, AI, and whatever else the tech entails if you plan on playing the PS4, Xbox One, or PC version. To my knowledge, they haven't showcased any last-gen footage, but it's safe to assume that the visuals and gameplay will be very similar to the past few iterations of FIFA on PC.

Well, bloody, well.

That clip near the end, the cross down the left wing, the animations look incredible.

But the screen is close in on so many snippets, it could be misleading.

Some of it looks like a revved up fifa 16.

It does look scrappy, the players all mixed up and interchanged, rather than the familiar attack in grids pattern you get on just about every fifa.

It cant be last gen. The nets that quality are only in next gen. In ps4 Ver or pc the nets are from steel :)
This version is PS5 ou Series X after the update of the beta because Sancho is a Red Devils😉. Or if it's carrier mode, I can't tell that. But yes net physics are really impressive, ball physics too.

After BETA i tried 21 and it was awful. I realized how better 22 animations are.

Of course it will not be perfect. It's the same engine, so gameplay and some other boring stuff are similar. But with new animations and stuff, it's much better. I really enjoyed it.

As i said before, i really hope they will leave the net sound from BETA. It was a pleasure to score goals with net sound. And the animation is also new.

I really miss 22, sometimes i was pissed off when seeing something dull and annoying but yet i want to play. I miss ball physics and new long balls also.
It's a kind of fun game.

Also, it needs to be slower.

Some of those saves are pretty filthy. Some moments, dare I say it, almost look old school PES like. Even got the first time volleys into the ground. Very nice to see them finally get the size of the ball right as well, not seen it mentioned much. I guess we will find out how important final third action is to a football game and whether it can compensate for all of the issues leading up to it that will no doubt still be there.

Also i really liked GKs before BETA patch/update.

They were great. Also i had some great-looking random goals when the keeper tried to save but put a hard shot in a goal off him. It was great.

Players also need to be heavier.
Dont expect too much if you want new PES5/6/FIFA16. The game still has that ugly no physics movement sometimes. It is still FUT based game, but at least little improvement for us who play just regular kick-off matches.

Well if it turns out unexpectedly good NG I'll pick it on Stadia. Or perhaps I'd like to, I mean I don't have any experience with it, is there any reason why it would be bad to play it there on pc?

Just remember, guys - the AI makes or breaks the game if you play offline.

Every clip of PES 2021 looks breathtaking. Then you play it, and the AI plays like a Game Boy game. I'd go as far as to say it's unplayable.

A team set to "long ball" doesn't even know what a pass is, whether half the team is unmarked or not. They'll just hit the same ball from defender to striker all game, and the striker will never fail to bring it down.

In the 22 beta, without exaggeration, every team on the top three difficulties would refuse to shoot outside of the six-yard box, and refuse to cross, ever. (Yes @saturator I tried your sliders and sorry, it didn't change the way the AI played for me!)

They have to change that before anything else, or we have to find a consistent workaround. Sliders didn't do it for me, and I know @Matt10 was having the same issue.

I’m not getting excited from that trailer.

I’ve seen people make other games and other footy games look phenomenal in short trailers, only for the actual experience to be totally different.
Of course I’m hoping for it to be amazing but for the life of me, I just can’t see it.

In PES 6 i loved to Play against my friends all The time IT was so challenging, not vs ai but You re deamn right ai was great i must admit. In fifa in worst case we still can play on fuma online seasons or vs friends and it will be deamn good hopefuly

100% and while I loved that video as well, it needs to be distinct on which was the CPU and which was the User. Because some of those efforts, let alone goals, would most likely come from the User. The CPU simply does not want to shoot from distance in the beta (pre and post patched) I played on PS5.

I believe this will be another year in which just that "one thing" keeps FIFA from reaching a truly solid representation of the sport. The midfield issue is better, and will be improved with sliders, but the CPU's indecision to 1) Cross and 2) shoot from distance, are going to be a rough spot. The reason this is a big deal is that if they choose not to do either of those things, you're left with the CPU tiki-taka in and around the box - making it very one-note, thus making every team feel the same in those positions. Imagine a team like Burton Albion playing tiki-taka vs Man City at the top of the box. It happened.

That video looks incredible. I haven’t played FIFA since 2016 (other than checking the demo to see if it’s crap) but with the direction Konami has gone this year, I’m keeping my options open.

I don't know why when you apply my sliders, AI refused to shoot from 6 yards. Even in FIFA 20 and FIFA 21, it does.

In two days I will prouve it.
Same for crosses. I think a have an option or two you haven't disable or something like that.

Competitor mode should be off, and all helps too.

You can download game via android XBOX App.
Just search FIFA 22 and you will get Download to console.

It will be playable on wednesday. But i guess like last year you will need just to click try game trial in store to activate game. And probably changing region to New Zealand to play earlier.

I will wait, but NEVER thrust a compilation of good or special moments.
That's never representative of the full game. But i got to admit : it's beautiful and looks pretty realistic.

Probably will buy it, but not at lauch. As i hated so much 20 and 21 the 3 most important part of the gameplay (so controls + overall gameplay choices/balance, in brief : system + overall feeling of what i'm doing) it's not animations that will bring me back to it / if you said the base is the same as old gen + hypermotion added.
Waiting for feedbacks of the overall game about the defending at least, a defence is not only the player you control, AI must play a role too.

I hope. But my level of hate is very high about the 2 last FIFA, even more than some hate PES 2021 or Efootball or whatever version, i prefers to mention it.
So it really needs to be feel diffrerents, and not goal to goal games.

4 exemples of my last FIFA 21 nextgen with my sliders (yesterday evening), you can see shoots Beyond 6 yards
I know you are just responding to @Chris Davies and I'm no expert in imperial units but isn't the penalty spot at like 12 yards? I'm sure 6 yards might have been a bit of an exaggeration from him as they do indeed shoot from outside the 6yrd box but in most cases only until the penalty spot or something like that. And on extreeeemely rare occasions, they will take a shot from outside the box. But in any case, that particular problem is still unfixable with sliders, they pretty much won't ever take the wide-open long shot or cross the freaking ball when they should lol.

But again, hopefully these issues will at least be mitigated in the new game. But I'll just wait for Wednesday to draw my conclusions.

It's a global answer to people said AI never crosses, AI never make long shots. It does. Outside you're right it rare compare to real life and it's on FIFA code. I only can help that arrived more often.

And it's FIFA 21 nextgen footage, and I said many times that in FIFA 22 it's far better because of Hyper motion. I stop speaking, only FIFA 22 footage with crosses, shots will convinced people.

I hope in two days you will enjoy the game.
