FIFA 22 Discussion (Console Versions)

Just let it die fellas. It’s like a bunch of heartbroken lads pining for an ex girlfriend who has moved on.

mad for true brits and spooky they are both clearly on the take because all of a sudden they’ve become less critical of efootball and more upbeat, which is ridiculous considering there’s been nothing to go on.

as for fifa that’s meh too but at least they are keeping leagues. Not much of a win but it’s something. We really need a football kingdom 2

Ok, if there is no demo, can anybody tell whether the trial 10 hours period in ea access available on September 22 include ps5 version?
https://www.hitc.com/en-gb/2021/09/07/fifa-22-ea-play-early-access-trial-release-date/ according to this next gen get 20 hrs

This video is horrible : gameplay speed is not realistic.
I know all videos look bad and FIFA 22 didn't shine on these videos.
I don't know why but with a pad in your hand after changing some settings, it feels great.
I would like to be a Game Changer to share some footage to convince you 😉
Really looking forward to your footage. As there is no demo, gameplay vids on adjusted sliders and full manual will be deciding if i give FIFA or go or not.

At the moment, there is no reason to believe it is above PES21 in any way.

I will buy IT too, to try IT out. What time on next wednesday we can download and Play the game?

Thanks for your offer! Your ideas sound fine so far.

Maybe we (all) can share some ideas based on your first footage and find out how slider settings will translate to the game.

“Now that we’ve seen some feedback on FIFA 22 and the closed beta, people are definitely calling out that there’s a lot of features that are making the game different — it feels different,” Rivera said. “We were recording something with our pro [esports] players, and they were trying to play a game similar to FIFA 21. And they were not necessarily scoring many goals. Even the chance-creation game, you need to think a little bit different. All the things that the animations changed, that we changed in the game, in terms of positioning, very different experience. And that [experience] was, ‘It feels fresh.’”

“At a high level, what we heard the most is that people wanted more differentiation” among the players on the virtual pitch. Every year has certain quibbles, problems, and exploits, he said, but “we knew what people wanted was a jump in terms of differentiation and realism, making sure the game looks better. So we knew that we needed a bigger investment in terms of animation and technology.”

I would really love to see

Slow game speed, full manual, WorldClass, 6 min, sliders with ball speed (shot power, pass power) lowered (lets say 45), and shot-pass-first touch error higher (lets say 55)

Some normal match, Aston Villa - Everton for example
Ok no problem. You can see it the 22th of September. Xbox Series X or PS5?😜

Ok I can capture 20 hours on nextgen because I have a Series X and a PS5.
Let's do it mate! I

FIFA has a serious problem with the way players manage the ball. There's a lack of variety of passes, it's always the same type. Other times, players do really weird passing moves, that don't look natural at all. They capture 200 dribbling moves but don't include the different passing styles you see in a real match

It wouldn't be responsive enough. You're passing the ball between the 22 dots on the radar really, passing is a connect the dots game, animations don't matter.

Hate the dribbling feeling in Fifa.
Remember the post with This is Football, i got the same impression as those old game : i can't feel every touches of the ball i'm doing.
Especially since PS4 (i retried FIFA 14, you feel way less than on PES every single touches, but you feel where you're going, at least)
That's the same while the impact of shooting, passing etc.
I don't care about AI, because of those conditions : don't feel what i'm really doing as there's a part of total randomness in stats, which results in randomness on the pitch.

I'm just explaining here why i got very hard with Fifa, that olders games reminds me exactly what i was feeling with Fifa, more and more year after year.

It's what Klopp said to the Liverpool players last night at half time, "You have to pass the ball faster than you can kick it. Don't wait for the foot to move back and then forward to connect to the ball, just pass it earlier, super fast, in a straight line, like Fifa 22"

Honestly I can't wait to see a video from Fifa 22 with sliders applied because right now it looks worse with every video.

i thought about it as well but hey... the game is pretty steady in price, even weeks later.
so i might grab it for retail price, play test it for a week or too and sell it for 10 euro less..
I’ve gone all digital mate. I’ve even just sold all of my old football games. So for me I have to try it before buying :)

Should've held on to those. Probably your only hope to play a decent football game going forward. :D

In all seriousness, I also prefer to buy the games digitally for sports games, because I play a lot of them and switching disks is a pain.

FIFA 16 and PES 2021 feel so much better and more natural when passing, while still being very responsive.

I think passing moves are really important, since they are one of the moves most seen during a match. Even more than any shot or nice dribble skill. But the latter are much more "impressives" and meaningful for the sport
You have players that pass with the inside / outside of the foot, balancing the body differently, using curve or straight passes, etc. It would be a great addition to the game imho

It's subjective, I suppose, but I would definitely not classify PES 2021 as "very responsive." Most certainly not in the same vein as FIFA 16. I have to download gameplay mods to make PES 2021 more responsive (and sometimes even up the game speed to +1) and it still doesn't feel "right." Certain aspects of it can be, but basic locomotion, reaction speed, loose balls, player switching (especially on FUMA) are not what I would call responsive. I feel like I'm controlling oil tankers (especially off the ball), not world class athletes. More to the point, the lack of balance in terms of what the CPU is capable of pulling off and the feeling of helplessness when attempting to stop them.

I agree with the sentiment on passing.

Oh yes, I forgot I've been playing PES 2021 totally modded. The vanilla version is not that responsive, you´re right. Specially because the heavy scripting.
However, with the last gameplay mods (like Liberty Gameplay), it gains a lot of responsiveness. I honestly, play it because I'm amazed with the graphics and some natural movements it has.
I think FIFA 16 it's the best FIFA created until now, combining responsiveness + IA + natural moves.

Well, in the others side Physics are better on PES 2021. And i don't get what you mean exactly by "responsiveness"... The time a player execute his animation before the action will be, let's say, accomplished demands some time no? Especially if you RESPECT physics. As i hate when you tweaks it personnally.
PES5/WE9 was the favorite version, and was also the less super responsive : you gotted to wait the end of an animation before doing something else.

I remember that timing was the key : found the exact time when the animation is finished to push the other button to found the rythm. But it depended from a players to another (reaction stats and some technical stats maked a BIG part on it, Att/Def Prowess in PES 2021 too as an example as it's related to "reaction in attack/defense. And i think it's the same in Fifa since forever. But there's a global gameplay system for switching to a movement to another : i agree completely. And obvious input lag is some games (like PES 2014) but that's a bit different : PES 14 issue was that you got BOTH input lag and slow animation to enchain for one to another.

I don't say it's the case for FIFA 16, let's say there's algorithms added on some animations which are looking like "physics" (so the basis of the the engine) a bit like they've done with PES 2011 to 2013. And i agree the result was good, but with that system, you will get far less variety than something automatic.

Well, each game got his flaws and i don't play modded neither of the two (sliders included), so... But to me PES 2021 is my favorite PES since PS2 era no doubt, it feels complete. I won't say the best or i'll be bashed lol. But i was part of the "PES 2013? Yeah not bad. But i prefers Fifa X version(s), physics seems to be forced" so PS2 > PES / PS3 > FIFA / PS4 > PES to me. Even with Fifa 16 (i think i played too much, online, and saw all the flaws and how it was repetitive so i gived up sincerely. Fun was gone to me.

But weirdly, FIFA 17 gived me hope as there was more variety in everything : the issue was bugs and overall balance, not only attack/defence (same as FIFA 16 online, around 3-4 goal by games) but about some stuffs easier to do IRL who were harded in game and vice versa.
I talk about my experience online, with the vanilla game of course. PC gamers aren't concerned, but to me "vanilla" it's how you can see if a game is in the good direction, at least the direction you want, or not
