FIFA 22 Discussion (Console Versions)

Game is much improved since the update but almost finding it too easy now even on legendary (where I was losing every game pre beta update).

It's never going to be perfect but I think the game is in a better state now than it was previously.

Yes I agree with, the update made the game better. Strickers, defenders, midfields, their mouvements are more realist.

I have started a career with Olympique de Marseille. On World class, on FUMA, it's hard because of their young Defenders with 70 on GEN. It's a great think. I have lost versus Monaco (4-1), Lille (3-0), Paris (3-0) but i have made a very serious game versus Rennes and I win 3-0 with my goals on the last 25 minutes. Milik with a nice slalom ended by a big shoot. His second goal with a nice shoot and Guendouzi finish the good work with a header!

I'm in love with the new ball physics, I changed wings only to see curves🤪. On FUMA, new angles of passes or shoots, more precise if you have time to do it.

A question to those who are playing career mode in beta. Is the scorelines/ amount of golas in Cpu matches realistic? Didn’t play 21 but in earlier version it has either been too high or too low. I find it really immersion breaking when Kane is the top scorer with 16 goals in a season, or 4-5 teams end up with over 100 points. Has these issues been adressed?

Hello. Since FIFA 21, it's ok. It's ok in FIFA 22 beta too;)

Hello!

i have always been a Pes player, but now it seems they went a different direction that leaves me to the option to go for fifa this year.

i tried fifa 21 last year and didnt fancy it. You guys that played the new fifa 22 beta, would u say there is enough changes to impress someone that didnt like the fifa 21? I will also add that i kind of didnt give fifa a fair chance, maybe just 2-3 games. Maybe need to have patience to actually enjoy it. I just found it very floaty

Same question from me on ps5. I thought fifa 21 was ok with the right sliders and AI tactic adjustment , is anyone on next gen who thought fifa 21 was ok or even disliked it who enjoys FIFA 22

Disliked fifa 21 but the beta is growing on me playing manual, world class. Still has issues(no fouls, cpu trying to walk the ball in, poor defensive ai) but overall it’s better than fifa 21. Just a shame that it could be a much better game if they sorted those issues but they seem like design choices rather than bugs.

Hello mate. I will answer.
I have player more than 400 games on Career mode on Fifa 21 nextgen on PS5.
The bigs problems are :

- Bad GK : sometime really good often bad. On Fifa 22 beta, they are fine. There is always the problem with near post, but it's better now
-Marking : a disaster on FIFA 21. On wings, it was open bar with Rashford, James, Sala. Now Defenders follow you with some contacts.
-Midfields didn't go back for help defenders : very shoking on FIFA 21. They don't give a s**t and stay immobile. Now on Fifa 22they go back.
-Lack of fault :same problem on FIFA 21and the beta. EA should fixed it. With sliders, you can have 2-3 faults by game but not garanted. It's a big issue.
-Cpu : not many variation in the game on legend/champion on FIFA 21. On Fifa 22, because or Hyper motion ???, better collective actions, more crosses, more long shorts, more physics.
-Ball physics : Pes 20, I was in love with ball physics. FIFA 21 in comparaison to FIFA 22 have a bad ball physics : you can now with time on FUMA change wings like PES 20/21. But on shoots, FIFA 22 have a better physics than PES, maybe because or the new net animation.
-Visual : on HDR, FIFA 21 matchs were always to dark. On FIFA 22, it's perfect.
-Sliding impression : FIFA 21 nextgen is a good improuvement of FIFA 21 currengen but light. Now with Hypermotion, on 80% of the case, it's the good animation who is running. Sliding is still there and if you increase the speed, you will notice it.

These impressions were on 30 matches on the beta, 8 minutes, FUMA, personal sliders, Career mode and Kick of

What sliders would change the cpu to having more long shots? As there is no slider adjustment for this?
I don't know mate, I have found that on my FIFA 21 sliders and it's my base since that for sliders.
Maybe a combinaison of many sliders : marking, shoot speed/Defender position

Great analisys. What FUMA stand for?

Those asking for beta thoughts. All I can say is, personally, I really don't like it, and I'm afraid sliders don't fix HUGE fundamental issues. But that's obvious.

Please don't buy whole-heartedly into praise from people who liked FIFA 21 - if you didn't like that, I don't think you'll like 22.

Every match is like a basketball game. Back and forth, goals galore. Sliders can tweak it, but nowhere close to fix it.

It is true, the last update actually added a form of players "tracking back" - except... They stay a 6ft radius away from the opponent, at best, so there's not much point (though it is an improvement).

They don't mark players, or block any passing options - and defenders are brutally underpowered - so you just take it in turns to run at the goal, pick any pass you like, and shoot.

My first game after the update, on Legendary, was 3-3. The AI's tiki-taka - with a poor team - was hilarious.

I've given as much detailed feedback as I possibly can, in the hope that, one year, we might get a separate game. The good news is, lots more players than I had imagined are agreeing, and shouting that they aren't interested in a basketball-type football game with ice-hockey skating.

Yeah I wrote pretty much the same a week or so ago @Chris Davies .
People/members who hailed FIFA 21 as a great game ,and not having a critical eye on that mess ,I do take any of the reports on Fifa 22 to be good/best with a truckload of salt.
Still looks shit to me ,same issues as you could see in FIFA 21 ,crossing/shooting is non existing from what I've seen here and on YT/twitch

It was only my thought, but I like FIFA 22 and I explain why. If you hate FIFA 21 you will hate FIFA 22 beta.
If you like FIFA 21 but you think a lot of things kill the gameplay and make this game frustrating, you will like FIFA 22.

FIFA since FIFA 18 is a crappy game without sliders. Fast Football is the Key.
Don't put on slow, it's buggy as f**k!

*To kill tiki-taka : increase Cpu error on passes and shoot and reduce speed on passes and shoots. Play on normal not on slow.

Maybe there are more problems on FUTO and Semi than FUMA because it's the CPU who decides where the ball is going, more script less liberty. I switch between Defenders/midfield manually and now it's ok.
I will post on 22th september my videos with all my sliders.

It's only words for now and I would like to show younwhat I have noticed. I didn't find on YT a good video of the beta like I played it.

But EA have to make vanilla FIFA 22 more realist. Few people change sliders or didn't know 😅. Slider help but it's not a solution for every problem/bug. You can change the speed, the rythme but not a very bad coding.
I Hope everybody could enjoy it. If you don't I Hope another footy game will do🤟

I hated Fifa 21. Especially that running animation the game was an instant turn off. Animations now are good and the ball physics are vastly better.

I guess learning how to defend has helped this year as well and im starting to quite like the 1v1 battles and lowering the cpu passing speed helps alot with their tika taka around the box.

Ive been playing Fifa games on off since 1993 and none of them have ever been a sim or realistic. Every now and then though one is fun to play and this is one of them.

Yes you're right. You notice it when you switch between FIFA 21 et FIFA 22. On video, it looks the same, because of 30 FPS, but with a pad in your Hans, it's another story : Hyper motion is a game changer. EA should show more different situations to promote their 11 vs 11 technology.

I have played all FIFA since the beginning too on Megadrive 😁. Since FIFA 17, it's the first time I can say i really enjoy it and it's not a simple update of FIFA 21. Not perfect but in the good way.

I swear EA only matched 3 matches of Prime Barcelona in 2010-11 to learn football because they made every team play the same style of tiki taka football. It's very annoying.

If you hate FIFA 21 you will hate FIFA 22 beta.
So if you hate Fifa 20, it will be the same? As i never played FIFA 21 to save 60 euros as i really didn't get a good feel with Fifa 20.

And founded it far too easy, especially small teams vs small teams i buyed it, played perhaps 2 games and stopped.
Then retried when the Libertadores was available : i liked the overall ambiant and feeling, but i was with Binacional and smashed teams with 5 points in more on every Att/Mid/Def on first, Champion Difficulty (well, the second higher difficulty don't know the translation in english/spanish etc.),
After i was a bit more re-used with the controls as it's been 3 years i didn't really played FIFA, i put it on Legend. Of course it was a bit harder especially to defend (for not saying impossible sometimes), with the same teams. So i tried with more or less equal, i always try to take a smaller team, it was a team a bit less small (don't remember exactly, i tried many teams)

And i noticed, after two days of try (well i didn't played more than 2 hours those days) once you're used, after 2 games let's say, you can discern quickly AI errors. If you play fast in pass and shoots often, the AI doesn't seems to follow your execution speed. So scores where high, as i scored a lot but got hard to defend, like 5-3, 4-4 etc. i would say more or less 5 to 8 goals by games.

But honestly, it was more all about the overall feeling, turning, dribbling, passing, shooting, random miss (not because you didn't executed the control, but because of the stats system based on percentage of error) i didn't feeled the football thing. Let's say : it feeled too much insensitive in fact : i'm playing, but i don't feel what i'm doing like it should be, in time and seconds.
And that's one thing i got hard with Fifa to like it, because even on very old school 16 bits games i replayed, from Snes to Neo Geo or Super Soccer Champ etc. i feeled what i was doing, and every ball touch. I may feel like an E.T. for Fifa player used to it, but it's one of the only "good" relatively.

Don't know if i will buy it, or later probably in discount. Hope there will be a demo, i won't lie, i'm interrested in what graphically, a PS5 football game is looking like.

FIFA is clearly a different game than PES. The gameplays are so different.
So if you hate FIFA 20, you will maybe hate FIFA 22.

1 vs 1 appears on FIFA 21. It's very hard to master on defense, on FUMA, more easy on FUTO and semi I think. A lot of people hate that.
FIFA 21 have a lot of issues and with 1 vs 1, it was the cherry on the cake : fastpace game, bad GK, Bad referee, no more auto defence, thé community hate so much this game.

If you want to appreciate a FIFA game since the legendary FIFA 16, there is only one option : calm down the global speed. If you don't, it will be a goal fest game.

On FIFA 20, i started to go into sliders. From crash, i played 10 matchs with the vanilla game and I took some videos to analysed what are the issues and if I can fixed it with sliders or not.
In one week, the game was more playable and I wanted to play game after game. AI when you slowdown the game is really more clever. You appreciate it on career mode. With Marseille, i play against Lille who played a different style of game than St Etienne or PSG . I was happy and I wanted to share my sliders to thé community, with some videos to show than FIFA could be fun and a more realistic game.

FIFA 21 has a lot of issues too. Always lake of faults, but no center After World class level, dub midfields, etc... When I have access to the beta of FIFA 22, i can see if the game have changed.
On vanilla, it's hard to see the difference.

After 5 matchs, i apply my FIFA 21 nextgen sliders and wow it's a totally différent game. I can see now the motion capture 11 vs 11, you see teamate attitude ; midfield go back, marking is wotlrking, GK are useful. Damned it was not only marketing, they fixed a lot of issues.
You will see massive skating only if you play fast because hypermotion I think has not enought time to activate the good animation.

Inertia is back if you slowdown the game, the excessive responsiness of the game kills inertia if you play fast, no inertia.

It was a long writting but i would like to explain my philosophy. I know many people will hate FIFA 22. I only hope that some people will discover a different game that they will enjoy with sliders. It's not perfect but playable.
