FIFA 20 Discussion (Console Versions)

Back on topic.

Just watched some guy playing this and it seemed slow.

Then on a different person’s stream last night, the game looked very fast.

Is it true that FUT is set to ‘fast’ and that you can’t change it?

I tend to buy FIFA every year, but not on release like PES.

After playing the demo some more, it'll probably be the same this year, though there's always a chance I'll skip it.

I feel like every year, the first things people will say about a FIFA demo is that it's "slower, more realistic, like PES".
And to me, that's never correct. The game still plays like FIFA--just really fast, and the players feel like they are just gliding across the field.

I didn't get the impression presentation changed much, but it honestly doesn't have to--it just continues to be top notch.

Overall, it's a FIFA game. A bit too shallow for my taste. It looks nice, but gameplay is not what I enjoy.

Career Mode, the Bournemouth games are pre-season. The difficulty is definitely Legendary/Ultimate as described in the screenshots I provided - it confirms the difficulty at the top of the screen before kick-off (where two players stand on opposite sides of the screen).

Perhaps you've been finding difficulty because you're playing the best teams in the world - those games are certainly harder. But against "normal" teams (even ones better than you) there is just no challenge.

Here you go. The Ultimate difficulty stats I provided earlier are from this game. Check it out.

A reminder. This is ULTIMATE DIFFICULTY.

Ok clearly it's very very bad, I understand why you're not happy.
The pressure is very very low. Like it was on semi pro level.

It’s the same thing you can play fifa for months after it’s released without inserting the disc if you still have trial time left like I did for 18 as a barely played it
In have fifa 14-15-16-17 on disc (installed in my HDD) but since I have EA acces i dont need the disc.
Mainly got it to play fifa 18 (and 19) cheaper than buying a used copy

This game does not deserve our attention, is worse than fifa19. I don't see any reason why I would pay around 50 euros, I see no graphical change (maybe worse), just a few tactical and gameplay adjustments, some transfers and a few balls, the same robotic, unnatural and supernatural moves of the players. Honestly, it does not even rise to the level of fifa 19, which, with the mods of fidel, paul, supernova, aranatku and others, to say, is an acceptable game. I will not buy the game, I just paid the premier to see what it is about. They even damaged the lighting part of the stadiums and the appearance of the field. I migrate to pro evolution soccer, and I would be glad if Fidel and the others would do the same.

I actually think this game can be brilliant, and I like the direction they're going in many ways. It's just such inconsistent execution that can ruin if for me.

For example, I just had an absolutely brilliant Champions League match against Napoli on Ultimate. It ended with one of my favorite all time FIFA moments. It starts with a professional foul by the CPU, and ends in brilliance. Note the score and time on the clock:

Here's the goal in closer detail. A right stick flick of the ball (note how Salah actually looks over his left shoulder after his first touch (I think you see it on the second camera angle; what a brilliant bit of detail), and then it finishes with a perfect green timed finishing shot for a beautiful curler around the defenders into the corner:

If you don't like that passage of play, then I don't know what you want out of a football game. Moments like this is why FIFA can be just awesome. It's just so frustrating that gameplay can be so wildly inconsistent in its execution.

Dribbling in fifa is brilliant, great move there buddy.
What ruins it for me,not as much being the HUM in this case but if the CPU does it,it's how Salah slows down, like he has a bungy cord pulling him back to slow him down.
Looks very bad.
And that's the issue with FIFA,CPU does these strange and unnatural moves all the time, making it look and play so bad.
Most importantly, trying to track a player down is hopeless since they don't move naturally at all, dead stops etc.

That's my take on it.
But again, dribbling is pure porn on FIFA,I'm loving my FIFA 18 career atm, which (IMO) are miles ahead of the Ai in this game.
Great video pal

I can see the potential and I'd like to think that I do not want impossible things out of a football game. In fact I can tell you that I will play fifa 20 to death with 3 simple changes. Ok maybe 2, because I can't see how my first point is going to patched.

- Not wildly inconsistent gameplay. Who decided that Champions League matches should play a bit differently than other CM matches? Please don't tell me you can't feel the difference, you're enjoying a CL tourney after all. All matches should be played under the same laws of physics. CM is riddled with players that glide along in a weird way whenever they touch/trap the ball in a way that you don't experience in CL (or kick off) matches.

- AI Defenders who defend like in every other football game ever released, including a bit of midfield resistance. (Is this different in CL / Kick off mode? If so, WHY?!).

- CPU that actually uses the tactics system depending on whether they need a goal or to defend a good result, again like in all other football games released this century (except fifa 19 of course).

Am I raising the bar too high? Unfortunately things like these make the difference between what I would call a very good game and a game not worth my time.

Second part of my videos.

To PC gamers only:-

(PS4 and XB1 players have no choice so no criticism towards them, they have the too low and close Broadcast cam to deal with, hence its avoided)

Still cannot work out why so many are playing using the YouTube and "streamers" children's side view Cam view (where the FIFA 8 years old animations look pathetic in this view), making the game look like any other FIFA going back to FIFA 11. Why is no-one using the modded high up "PES stadium camera like" Broadcast camera? It shows the organicness of the gameplay so much more and for some unknown reason (it isnt just the height) everything looks slower and more realistic than the default Cam view that most seem to upload to YouTube. Maybe thats why its called You....Tube.

Bizarre

Looking at Matt10's Twitch stream, he has it sussed out, look how much, much more realistic the game looks in the Broadcast camera view (seems he has default height and zoom on it and possibly not modded), and of course he has the sliders making things even more realistic.

I couldn't imagine his gameplay looking as good as this from the simpleton side view cameras. Not one FIFA 20 Beta stream that I could find a month ago was using anything other than my aforementioned kids camera view.

I really cannot fathom why.
