Was going to structure my thoughts a bit better than intended, but my head is all over the shop after my uncle passed away suddenly last night. What I will say regards FIFA in relation to that is that it is proving decent wee much needed distraction.

Legacy Defending
Fuck knows what else.
- There is a responsiveness issue in the game, though currently, I am not finding it hugely frustrating. Is there though and could become a real pain in the ass, but for the moment, while I am getting to grips with things, I am managing it being a factor in my play. It isn't realistic though. I think comes from a combination of some glitchy first touches and, oddly, the amount of frames for each and every movement, along with some transitional stuff.
- I hate how someone like me who detests tactical defending, feels like the game is whispering in my ear repeatedly that I should be using it and not the reasonably capable legacy method. It is a whisper though, and just hope it doesn't turn into a scream. Do I seriously need to use that tactical shit if I were wanting to play online?
- You will get no debate from me regards what games turf looks better in daytime settings. It's this.
- I would say that while the daytime turf has generally been lovely, thanks to crisp visuals from gameplay camera, that I don't particularly like the player models from gameplay view, although very clear and detailed. They lack a bit of "chunk" and differentiation. Could be a camera thing, but not a massive fan. Bit of rough with the smooth here.
- Okay, player individuality. Listen, I think this is a subjective thing between the two games available now. I don't agree with Chris that it seems more pronounced here. It is nice that weak foot plays a factor, and reckon a few like that too but for me, while it is welcome, they players don't vary enough between each other at the basics, or things like agility and first touch. If this game had the same level of clearly visible variety in players agility and things like first touch - basically nicked PES' lovely wee contextual moves and some of the ID stuff - it would take this game to another level. Maybe not "the ultimate level", but another level. This is a biggie for me, but the good news is that although I do notice that lack of variety, it isn't proving obstructive to my enjoyment thus far. Like I say, this is very subjective when considering both games now.
- There is just a sensation of floatiness to movement and that I need to manually input a sensation of weight in movement when on the ball. Difficult to explain without a comparison and will leave that for said contrast/compare thread. Again though, I am currently able to work with it and it hasn't frustrated me like I initially thought it would when playing my first couple of matches. If I were to take a guess based on limited play, it might actually be those animation transitions again. Some people will disagree, but the fact is your mind is a pretty wonderful thing, and can fill in a lot of blanks when it comes to animation. This snappiness, if done right, results in greater response and yes, maybe even a sensation of weight, if done correctly.
- Can't help but notice the AI's lack of variety in how it plays. Along with that, I just find the game a bit one paced. Greater ebb and flow would be welcome. Yes, I do notice the AI on World Class averaging 90+% passing accuracy. This is another one for the contrast/compare thread in order to break it down as to what I want to see but to tempt fate and nod to the other game, there is a lot to say for the fluid formation stuff and alike, and how the AI does utilise it, even if at the wrong time.
- AI again. Lack of player movement and a representation of the fluidity of formation/positional movements found in the real sport these days. But do you know what? It again isn't proving completely prohibitive to my enjoyment.
- Broadcast cuts just a little bit prolonged. Guessing we can turn such presentation stuff off? Talking about the during match shenanigans.
I quite like this. I won't go into what I prefer and why in here, but I do like this so far.
