FIFA 16 News & Discussion Thread

Re: FIFA 16 News & Discussion Thread

One thing that could kill the game is too accurate crosses and headers.

It will just shoehorn all the play down the wings again, and become another case of whoring whatever speedslag down the line to whip it in for a cheap goal. One dimensional.

Problem with BETAs is the producers vision will be polluted by popular opinion. Consumers don't know what they want, they'll whine if theres any learning curve, but spite themselves long-term when they get bored and it's unrewarding.

FIFA 11 had the promise of vision cones and realistic passing, but by release it was so watered down it was barely noticable, yet the tech was clearly capable of doing it. I feel the designers genuinely want to make a football simulation, but at a corporate structure like EA you're always at the whim of the consumer annoyingly.

Shame a smaller company could make a pure simulation and get that niche that doesn't care about the latest MOTM FUT card. You get them doing it for space, army and driving sims, so why not the world's most popular sport? I don't think licenses is enough of an obstacle if you proriotise gameplay, look at the early PES Games with Trad Brick Lane and London Blue.

I agree. This is why someone needs to work on a community open source football game where people can help each other to make the most perfect game.

Re: FIFA 16 News & Discussion Thread

most videos show plenty of quick and accurate passes, how hard could it be?! :BORED:

It is because people have to now put more power on passes and shots so people are not used to that.

I will try my best to not let those guys change EA's opinion. I say currently passing is splitting people 50/50 on the beta forums.

Re: FIFA 16 News & Discussion Thread

Why did they gave the beta access to casual gamers and not the hardcore gamers? Stupid EA.

Re: FIFA 16 News & Discussion Thread

They really should release 2 Fifa games each year.

Fifa:Kiddy edition and Fifa:Football fan edition.

:D

Re: FIFA 16 News & Discussion Thread

How the hell did you get it Jonney?

i play lots of clubs mate and got invited to beta test just that mode.

So far its decent. fluid, good passing and the biggest difference i saw is that the AI is night and day better then previous fifa versions.

They pass very quickly and play like barcelona. You could play on your own with the AI and have a decent game of clubs or play with say half a team too.

Through balls are gimped meaning you need to place your through balls better and the shooting has improved a bit.

Re: FIFA 16 News & Discussion Thread

Hi.

If you would like me to relay any specific features or improvements in clubs. shoot here because i am in contact with the EA guys as i am part of the beta

Re: FIFA 16 News & Discussion Thread

No, that's always been in the game, when you turn off the name bets at the bottom of the screen the power bar appears above the player

oh, cool, never knew that!

It is because people have to now put more power on passes and shots so people are not used to that.

sounds good no? now players have to learn to use proper power amount.

in FIFA 15 people with pacey players often could easily outrun my whole defence as they were reacting quite slow.
That way I recevied many goals, thats why online sucked for me.
Do you think that is still possible in FIFA 16?
Cause they said they worked on defending.

Also, is the pace in general really slower?

EDIT:
How about cam options? Is there more room for adjustement like for the broadcast cam?

Re: FIFA 16 News & Discussion Thread

What about camera sliders in FIFA 16 beta? Is it working properly now, or not?

How is shooting? Can you feel the wheight of yhe ball? In fifa 15, it was so light and lifeless IMO.

If not, can you report it to EA? Thanks :))

Re: FIFA 16 News & Discussion Thread

Had one of 'those' nights with 15 last night which prompts 2 questions:

1. Does every clearance land at the feet of a lone CPU striker?
2. Is tackling still sometimes just a 'pass it to the opposition' function? As in, you do an excellent tackle of one CPU player, and it perfectly runs to another CPU player (often in a great position)

Good one. This makes me raaaaaaaaaaaaaaaage.

Not stupid at all. Casual gamers are the majority market for this game. We just have to accept that, short of creating a separate 'purist' mode, EA will never deliver the hardcore football simulation we all want because it's not what the mainstream gamers enjoy. There will always be a trade-off, and, as such, FIFA will never hit the potential that we all know is there.

For me this is very rare. When CPU clears the ball under pressure they clear it for a throw in. Also when they are protecting a lead. So it can't be for 'every' clearance!

Problem is the casual gamer plays online, FUT(I hate that mode with a passion - I don't buy FIFA to build my own fake superstar squat wearing stupid kits playing lame games), clubs, head to head or whatever.. they are the ones spending extra money after buying the copy. But you the hardcore gamer, you play offline and EA doesn't know you so to them you can't be hardcore!

I think they select the beta players from the ammount of time they have played the previous games, I got an invite but forgot to check my emails in time.

Re: FIFA 16 News & Discussion Thread

Yeah, they said in an e-mail because I played FUT so often they have invited me to a BETA, it looks like it's online modes only as well, so yeah, if you play offline, probably out of luck.

I might play it tonight, I can try and record some footage or look out for anything interesting if anyone wishes?

Re: FIFA 16 News & Discussion Thread

Been playing FIFA 15 on PC only.

Is it true that the boradcast cam was limited on PC compared to the console versions?
Because on PC it was way too low for my taste.

I find this one very nice:

Really hope this one will be settable for FIFA 16.
Guy says he used the default cam, so I guess this works for console only.

Re: FIFA 16 News & Discussion Thread

wtf i am a hardcore fifa fan. what are you smoking?
I don't think it's aimed at you Jonney, I think it's aimed at all the kids who've leaked videos to YouTube and posted on the beta forums saying that passing is too slow and inaccurate (i.e. more realistic), therefore potentially ruining the game before release.
