FIFA 16 News & Discussion Thread

Re: FIFA 16 News & Discussion Thread

everyone has the right to share his opinion.
For me, the FIFA 14 demo was brilliant. Too bad it has a series of bugs that made it look worse than deserved (last but not least the broken DOF that resulted in nets turning black or not blending at all with the background when seen from distance), and even worse they decided to revert to "LBY sprintfest" once the fullgame got released.

I mean, is that hard for them (both EA and Konami) to just stick with the demo for once? What's the purpose of the demo if we get a different product anyway? :|

I played FIFA 14 PC demo again this morning with default sliders and I had mixed feelings, I love it and I hate it at the same time.

Love it:
- No tackle/push button abuse
- Shooting and goalkeeper animations
- Ball physics
- Team defense
- Ball protect, man to man battles

Hate it:
- CPU defensive awareness it's overpowered. I played 10-15 matches and I scored 1 goal
- Defenders always run faster than forwards
- IA players sometimes don't react like they should

About team defense, for me the most significant difference between both games, a made a test to compare with FIFA 15.
With 0-0 I stay standing with the ball in defense, and in less than 1 seconds the whole CPU team react and advance lines to pressure, individually and as team. My teammates also come to help me.
In FIFA 15 the same situation result is 22 statues over a green grass for about 20 seconds, when 1 CPU forward "react" with a shy pressure

Re: FIFA 16 News & Discussion Thread

That gameplay really isn't getting me excited for FIFA 16 at all.

Re: FIFA 16 News & Discussion Thread

That new Crouch body model :D

Re: FIFA 16 News & Discussion Thread

I believe that at this point I can't be more unexcited about FIFA 16...those videos looked awful, completely and utterly horrendous!

Re: FIFA 16 News & Discussion Thread

Im happy with a slower, more defensive oriented, more skill based, balanced FIFA15. I don't understand what ppl expect anymore. FIFA 15 was a very good base to build upon. It was a good game fundamentally but needed balancing which it seems they have implemented. Ppl need to chill imo

Most of my matches ended up with less than 5 shots total even 0-0 shots sometimes. Can't stop playing it. They fixed almost everything which was broken in Fifa 15.

Re: FIFA 16 News & Discussion Thread

Thanks for reminding me why I don't play online by posting those videos. jebus.

Re: FIFA 16 News & Discussion Thread

Can do a side by side comparison of last years Crouch vs this years Crouch model. Just fired up 15 and Crouch's model looks good. I can understand the complaints against Lambert dude looked a N.F.L linebacker last year.

I guess I don't get the joke.

15 is so solid in every respect can not wait to get my hands on both games this year.

slower doesn't always mean simulation.those videos don't represent simulation football.

The best way I can describe its like playing in mud. The fast people in the game even feel slow.

There are positives in the game however, I cant stop using that off the ball skill. Still think I wont be getting the game however.

Re: FIFA 16 News & Discussion Thread

It appears to certainly play more sim-like than the 'alternative' and thats good enough for me. If anyone mildy enjoyed 15, 16 looks like a blast. The 'other' seems to play much closer to ....arcade. They solved the issues I wanted solved since FIFA12 apparently. That's amazing news. Don't buy it if you don't want to. Won't stop me though.

Bad players will make even the best football game look horrible.

There's not much you can take away from those videos, and if I had based my purchasing decision on how FIFA looks in pre-release gameplay videos, I might not have bought a single FIFA over the past decade.

"Alternative" and "other"? Really? Please don't be scared to say just "PES", the bad Konami people won't come to take you away.

On topic, it's a shame the beta's aren't made available for all. Even if it's just for a weekend like some other games have done. Having to watch poor players like in those latest videos doesn't help the game at all. And EA must know footage like that will be leaked. So give everyone a chance to try the beta, then a more refined demo in a few weeks. At least we'd have a better idea of the game than dodgy videos.

They're missing a trick and a good slice of £££ by not offering betas to those who have EA access.

Re: FIFA 16 News & Discussion Thread

Ultimate Team too. I do like the Draft Mode, wasn't sure what to think when they announced it.

Yeah, the draft mode is decent, I can give my opinion on the game, but it's mostly based on this mode.

I was a avid player of Ultimate Team and recently Pro Clubs on FIFA 15 so I guess it's a good comparison for myself when I tested this beta.

I am not quite sure what to make of it yet, it's slower I guess, but mainly because it feels everyone's sort of the same pace at times. I can get Hazard or Ronaldo, double tap to open the legs and get caught fairly easily. Their pace doesn't seem to be advantageous in moments it should, like if you break out from poor defending or burst round a player, you think you got them, then boom they are already on you.

Change of pace is good however, so you can dribble then turn a direction and hit sprint and you get a nicer burst of pace, that and fake shots seem to be peoples go to moves so far. Half the time it works, half the time it's a foul I'm finding. In fact I gave away two penalties because I knew the guy was gonna change and cut back inside, so I just jockeyed into that direction, no tackle button, bumped into him and bang, penalty, then again the same thing.

Passing is odd, mixed with the interceptions, I've had loads of game turn into pinball games in the middle, but may be more due to us panicking to try and get rid.

Shooting has been hit and miss, I have hit absolute thunderbolts without barely any run up, then have a run up and a decent amount of time and barely hit it with any force or direction, normally falls straight into the keepers hands. But again this is all beta stuff, so probably be sorted by then or I am just being garbage haha.

The off the ball thing is pretty neat, can easily get round people, I mostly pull it off by fluke, but if it works, I'll try it again.

One thing I will say is, 1-2's are a powerful tool, sometimes the runner can't be stopped at times haha.

However, I have just tried playing it for what it is, not really sat, played it and tried to critique it.

No idea about comparisons to PES, not had one since PS2 days properly, tried them here and there, like last years demo, but never bought it or played the demo much. This years demo looks interesting, may give that a go and compare those as well, not holding much out on that though.

Re: FIFA 16 News & Discussion Thread

Did anyone played against the CPU? Are they still boring and repetitive as fuck?

Same here!
If I hadn't tried FIFA 15 I wouldn't have had no footy game after the disappointing PES 2015 (PC).

Still playing it and still enjoying it.
It feels a little odd after playing the PES demo, but I get used to it after a couple of matches.

Can't wait to try the demo but not really keen on watching those beta vids.

Pretty similar to how I think the game is too. I love the new off the ball skill and the new pass.

I liked the pace at first, but theres something wrong when Ivanoic can easily catch up to and tackle people like Ronaldo with ease.

by you saying fifa is a more defensive oriented type of game, thats telling me that all sides will be playing a similar style of football and no team style, cos not all sides you play against in real life will be involved in midfield battles, that doesnt sound like a sim to me, In all the videos iv seen so far, the CPU AI plays exactly the same, and if there is i havent noticed.

FIFA is more into online play anyway. They really don't care about CPU A.I and how they play. They take few moments to write the most standard tika taki CPU A.I and publish it. I don't know how people enjoy playing against CPU A.I.

Re: FIFA 16 News & Discussion Thread

Is it possible to quick change tactics/formations somehow in Fifa 16 like u can on PES on the D-pad? Would love to have that possibility..

I cant believe that this is not possible yet in fifa.
Please, people with the beta advise ea about this possibility.
Its Very important for people that like more varied options in atacking play.

I also don´t know how, but I enjoyed FIFA 15 against the CPU playing CM a lot.
After using Matt´s Sliders even more.

CPU AI never has been a problem for me, only when my attackers don´t keep running forward - which could be due to their stats though.
Happened when I started with a low team with players with average 65 overall stats.
So that I don´t really count.

The other thing is when the CPU locks the ball up to the corner even they are not leading.
This doesn´t happen that often and probably not anymore with one of the latest patches.
At least I didn´t see it no more.

Other than that I don´t have a problem with the CPU.

I gotta add though, that I don´t analyze and study every single attack from every single team.
I play on wordclass and it´s a challenge for me playing the teams in the CM.
I have a few winning streaks, a few loosing streaks, draws, everything.
It´s not that I win every game doing the same combination or tactics.

Every match pays different imo and I´m glad I feel that way.

Re: FIFA 16 News & Discussion Thread

I just wish crossing and passing were separated in the sliders because adjusting the passing error slider makes a huge difference in humanising the AI but unfortunately it completely destroys their ability to cross for the most part, that's why PC users have to rely on ini tweaks instead but of course that rules out console users.

Re: FIFA 16 News & Discussion Thread

2nd vid plays amazing imo

i was just going to say! that was a very balanced game, lots of mispasses , interceptions and tackles. they failed a lot when they try to play cheap

great video

It's hard to answer your first question because Fifa 16 is a lot more physical then 15.Players' position, speed and strentg is very important. If you time your movements, you can easily get away. I need to play with different teams and players to see the variation , ı can only play with Chelsea players right now.

About no tocuh dribbling, ı've been using it lately and it's really effective.Inertia is a big factor so if you use this feature smartly you can perform some nice dribbling moves.I scored an amazing goal with Hazard using this feature, wish ı could put it here.It felt so good.

nice. thank you :))
