FIFA 16 News & Discussion Thread

Re: FIFA 16 News & Discussion Thread

How is the DM positioning?

Their inability to cover the backline and liability to bomb forward at every opportunity meant any possession footall just constantly left you exposed at the back. If they can maintain some form of cover it would make counter-attacking much less effective.

So a friend of mine has the Clubs beta, another has the FUT beta. I've heard good things about AI. Clubs guy says the midfield is much better, at holding shape, stepping up to intercept, and in the clips he recorded I could see better shape (No MFs right behind the strikers in the attacking half). But these were all with the default Drop In formation so I think that's 2 CMs, a CAM and 3 Forwards/Wingers.

Tackling appears to be more focused/directed/have more intent, when you slide it doesn't SEEM to be stuck in "I'm facing this way, let me slide 30 feet". It looks to make your leg attack the ball (within reason), but this is all from short clips so..... :D

I'll ask him to play in a club with an actual DM position so I can get a look at that.

Re: FIFA 16 News & Discussion Thread

Player weight and footplanting is really good, don't worry. Players move realisticly , going back to Fifa 15 or Pes 16 is impossible.Instant turns and clunky unnatural moves make them unplayable for me.

That's good to know, thanks for your feedback on FIFA 16, it's much appreciated.

I hate the way we get stuck with the ball in PES 2016. What I do love about FIFA these days is how fluid it usually plays.

Please give more impressions if you have time?

Thanks again.

Re: FIFA 16 News & Discussion Thread

could someone with access to the beta please check if

- it is possible to select a 2nd player on goal kicks and pass the ball
this is not possible in fifa15
- it is possible to select a 2nd player on free kicks / corner kicks and pass the ball
instead of crossing them like in fifa15

Re: FIFA 16 News & Discussion Thread

I feel the foot-planting is better in PES. I'm not gonna lie but there are a few things I do like in it.

We must be playing different games, Fifa 16 is the best game in the series in terms of footplanting. Pes 16 is full of ice-skating and instant turning moves.

You can look at feedback forums, lots of people say similar things there.

If you guys have spesific questions , ı can answer them honestly.I've played tons of games and ı am targeting number 1 spot in the seasons leaderboards: )

How would you compare PES 16 to FIFA 15 in terms of player weight and skating? To me, PES is far from skating whereas FIFA 15 is pretty ridiculous. I haven't played FIFA 16 and I noticed earlier you've said 16 is great but I'm very surprised that you think PES has skating in your opinion.

I feel FIFA 16 is still the same if not has worse skating. Players feel way too light when dribbling/running/turning.

PES 2015, PES 2016 are ice skating fest. players slides through the pitch like there are no grass. foot planting is worse is PES 2015&2016. previous PESs were good in foot planting, no sliding.

If you see a lot of replays, you'll notice that FIFA has better footplanting than PES. But i agree that the feel when controlling players on FIFA, is more light than PES. And PES has better inertia than FIFA. But not better footplanting. That's for sure.

Re: FIFA 16 News & Discussion Thread

Yeah, I actually like the pace of the game, and I can see the off the ball skill/dribbling working really good (I really like it), but they turn way to quick/lightly/floating for my liking. Maybe its just because I like how in PES 16 they have some weight in those same situations.

The AI has improved and do like to pass the ball alot. I found it quite difficult to break down the defense on World Class (Legendary player in past games).

That freaking CPU 180 degree turn in 1 milliesecond is what ruined FIFA 15. AND THEY STILL DID NOT FIX THAT CRAP AND IT"S IMPOSSIBLE TO DEFEND IN LEGENDARY MODE!

Re: FIFA 16 News & Discussion Thread

I have to apologise all QPR, Burnley and Hull fans, but I hope that these teams won't be back to the Premier League season next year, so we're going to get 3 additional stadiums in FIFA 17 :BLEH:

Kelly Cates said on the Football League Tonight programme that only 8 out of the last 33 teams relegated from the Premiership to the Championship got promoted straight back up.

EA don't seem like they'll add all Championship stadia as they're reluctant to even all the stadia for top tier leagues like the La Liga and Bundesliga. So the best hope is probably that more stadia comes from relegated Premiership teams.

I'd second this. Playing the PES demo, players have much more weight to them than playing FIFA (at least FIFA 15 and prior).

On the other hand, when you look at replays in PES, the sliding and skating is atrocious. But the key thing is you don't notice it during gameplay and movement fundamentals appear sound enough.

I think with FIFA that because the player models are so damn skinny, and because the animations are so quick, it gives the players a feeling of less weight, even if footplanting and movement physics are now pretty good.

can you tell about the pushing button, i think by default it is L2 (?). in fifa15 i found this button overpowered for the defense because it barges players off the ball very easy. is it similar in 16?

also what do you think of no touch dribbling. could it be genuinely useful or is it something that wil be removed next year?!

thanks for giving your thoughts :))

Re: FIFA 16 News & Discussion Thread

FIFA and foot planting?

Am I under the wrong impression over what foot planting means, because I see plenty of players gliding around in fifa15, especially the keepers. It's there in pes too, but I notice it more in FIFA with the lightweight feeling.

Force the CPU to the sideline, double team and cut off the path forward using the "teammate contain" button, then steal the ball when the CPU tries either Cruyff turn backwards (the 180 turn) or tries to pass square to the middle.

The CPU almost always does one of those two things when trapped on the sideline. It's playing defense just like in real life.

Force opposing team to the side of the field, try to force out of bounds (the CPU doesn't dribble out too oftern), try to force a steal-able pass, or force the opposing team to pass backwards.

Start defending in an organized manner and you'll have ridiculous possession... whatever difficulty, Legendary, etc.

I just play on Professional with sliders and that overpowered quick turn is reduced. Now only good dribblers can turn faster rather than before when even defender could quick turn.

Re: FIFA 16 News & Discussion Thread

I hope he was sarcastic.
everyone has the right to share his opinion.
For me, the FIFA 14 demo was brilliant. Too bad it has a series of bugs that made it look worse than deserved (last but not least the broken DOF that resulted in nets turning black or not blending at all with the background when seen from distance), and even worse they decided to revert to "LBY sprintfest" once the fullgame got released.

I mean, is that hard for them (both EA and Konami) to just stick with the demo for once? What's the purpose of the demo if we get a different product anyway? :|

Patches and retail version is what always ruins it. I just don't understand why.

agree!

It's hard to answer your first question because Fifa 16 is a lot more physical then 15.Players' position, speed and strentg is very important. If you time your movements, you can easily get away. I need to play with different teams and players to see the variation , ı can only play with Chelsea players right now.

About no tocuh dribbling, ı've been using it lately and it's really effective.Inertia is a big factor so if you use this feature smartly you can perform some nice dribbling moves.I scored an amazing goal with Hazard using this feature, wish ı could put it here.It felt so good.

Re: FIFA 16 News & Discussion Thread

I played a bunch of seasons games these last couple of days

the acceleration/sprint speed curves are changed in FIFA16, feels a bit more bearable

the new crossing is very much an improvement and realistic but it's also stupid with any player being able to whip in a Beckham-esque cross with perfect accuracy and swerve. passing sliders might remedy that, the upside is it does take some skill of your own and timing to make a good cross

passing with purpose (the really hard-hit passes) is op as fuck, every player can use it accurately... it's almost become the standard pass for me. it's rendered somewhat less effective for weaker teams by the fact lower rated players can take really bad touches when controlling them, and on that note first touches seem heavier overall.

defense AI as a whole is much improved. players cover spaces properly, the backline moves as a unit and stays quite high. the swingstep animation they added is very useful against quick wingers. interceptions very noticeably occur more often which makes a big difference and there is more midfield play overall.

strength seems to matter more, at least compared to fifa15 where everyone got shoved around so easily

no touch dribbling looks really cool, not sure on its effectiveness... my experience being that fake-shooting is better a lot of the time. letting the ball roll past you for a better angle to shoot is useful though

what else... uh.. like usual the new range of animations are great and make the game feel fresh. it's an improvement on FIFA15 in a lot of ways but some of the new fancier features are potentially broken.

Is it possible to quick change tactics/formations somehow in Fifa 16 like u can on PES on the D-pad? Would love to have that possibility..

Re: FIFA 16 News & Discussion Thread

What BETA's do people have then?

I have a FIFA Ultimate Team BETA at the moment, wasn't sure if you just get one or there are others out there. It includes normal offline and online modes and Draft, which I have spent most of my time on, got 4 wins in a row prize the first time and managed it a second time, now can barely string 2 wins in a row haha.

Please report these things on the official beta forums, they *are* listening to feedback (which scares me because there will be a lot of kids whinging about it being boring and/or slow)!

Ultimate Team too. I do like the Draft Mode, wasn't sure what to think when they announced it.
