FIFA 16 News & Discussion Thread

Re: FIFA 16 News & Discussion Thread

I like the pace from the second video. Something about it feels off and I can't place my finger on it. But yep, that's a far better video than some others and makes me more interested in FIFA again.

Re: FIFA 16 News & Discussion Thread

yeah 2nd video looks balanced and passing is good, but...

a friend of mine who play the beta told me, that many people in the forum where they discuss about the beta, complaint about the simple passing. They want them more accurate.

Very sad...

This is my biggest fear.

I can see them putting together a game that's slower and more difficult, and then destroying it because their biggest audience (kids) don't want that.

In my opinion, 14 was great, 15 was a step backwards but with potential. 16 sounded good, but from the beta reviews, and the feedback EA are getting, I'm really worried (especially seeing as I don't like the new PES).

Re: FIFA 16 News & Discussion Thread

Most of my matches ended up with less than 5 shots total even 0-0 shots sometimes. Can't stop playing it. They fixed almost everything which was broken in Fifa 15.

Oh, no. That means they will "fix" it in final release because of million teenagers outraged not to score 5 goals per match.

I just wish crossing and passing were separated in the sliders because adjusting the passing error slider makes a huge difference in humanising the AI but unfortunately it completely destroys their ability to cross for the most part, that's why PC users have to rely on ini tweaks instead but of course that rules out console users.

That would be nice. Also, sliders for fouls, fatigue, AI shooting frequency.

BTW did EA add any new sliders in 16?

most videos show plenty of quick and accurate passes, how hard could it be?! :BORED:

Re: FIFA 16 News & Discussion Thread

Fifa (although Ive never been a fan but had the odd version) is clearly going down the "if it needs improving then don't bother otherwise the kids will stop spending all their pocket money on it" route.
It could be such a good game and they have the man power to do it but they wont because its not about game play or player likeness its all about money spent on FUT.
If someone in EA said I have tweaked Fifa to make it the most realistic game ever – better than PES 1-6 and this is going to be ground breaking – EA would just hear blah blah blah blah and ask how it would affect FUT.

I take all gameplay videos with a pinch of salt and BETA versions.

FIFA 14 NG build I played at Eurogamer Expo was the best version of FIFA I ever played it was slow and felt you actually had to pass the ball around and create chances, then when the full game was released it had it's speed greatly increased and it played like FIFA.

Re: FIFA 16 News & Discussion Thread

I happen to know that the ppl at FSB have given EA their feedback and stated that they shouldnt change the game too much and that it plays well as is. Not sure who has more clout but I'm hoping sense prevails. The entire direction of this FIFA is unlike any in the past. Much more skillbased.

Re: FIFA 16 News & Discussion Thread

GUYS... We are missing the most promising part of it all. The fact that that is FUT gameplay. FUT gameplay has ALWAYS been much faster than seasons and offline gameplay so..... :D

Re: FIFA 16 News & Discussion Thread

My question with the video above that looks great (and it does) is this... Why does that video look great, and the others not so great?

They're all the same build regardless of the different game modes (and as someone has already pointed out, FUT is usually much faster, but the nicely slow video above is an FUT video).

So what makes that video look great, and the others terrible?

I think the real answer is that when you play online, you're going to get put against all the players in the other videos, and you're going to have a bad time. Rather than thinking "hey, this video makes the game look great", all I'm thinking is "so once in a blue moon, you might find a player who wants to play the game the right way"...

That happens on FIFA 15 as it is now, too...

(I'm just very worried with all these beta reviews - the majority seem to say it's much the same and/or worse somehow, and after enjoying both PES and FIFA last year, I'm worried that this year I'm not going to enjoy either.)

Really ? I didn't know , but ı can say you that most people are happy with the pace and new realistic approach.I am surprised to see that , ı was expecting crybabies :D

ya it wont allow.

it is good that people seem happy with the game :))

What about passing? I heard that many people moaning about simple passing being too unaccurate.

Re: FIFA 16 News & Discussion Thread

I can guess already that the answer is no :( Really needs aggression/fatigue sliders at the very least, last new slider was first touch error and that was a good 3 Fifas back?

ahh the benefits of owning a PC.

It's just less assisted and AI is also very clear and smart , they really close spaces and itercept the ball quite often if you make a bad decision. If you play with old habbits, you gonna lose the ball many times. You need to think realisticly. That's why its pure joy to make passes and try to create spaces in the middfield.Ball physic is also really good.

Re: FIFA 16 News & Discussion Thread

Have they sorted out the dreaded one-two lofted pass from the kick off. Even though you could most of the time combat it, it was a right pain in the arse.

Same goes for the trying to dribble through everyone from the kick off. Even though most of the time it was hilarious watching people attempting it. When they succeeded it was very painful.

Thanks for the info, but i was actually questioning about the reaction and opinions of beta testers on the private forum. A friend of mine told that many testers complaint about the low passing, cause they want them to be more accurate. Is that true?

Re: FIFA 16 News & Discussion Thread

One thing that could kill the game is too accurate crosses and headers.

It will just shoehorn all the play down the wings again, and become another case of whoring whatever speedslag down the line to whip it in for a cheap goal. One dimensional.

Problem with BETAs is the producers vision will be polluted by popular opinion. Consumers don't know what they want, they'll whine if theres any learning curve, but spite themselves long-term when they get bored and it's unrewarding.

FIFA 11 had the promise of vision cones and realistic passing, but by release it was so watered down it was barely noticable, yet the tech was clearly capable of doing it. I feel the designers genuinely want to make a football simulation, but at a corporate structure like EA you're always at the whim of the consumer annoyingly.

Shame a smaller company could make a pure simulation and get that niche that doesn't care about the latest MOTM FUT card. You get them doing it for space, army and driving sims, so why not the world's most popular sport? I don't think licenses is enough of an obstacle if you proriotise gameplay, look at the early PES Games with Trad Brick Lane and London Blue.
