FIFA 16 News & Discussion Thread

Re: FIFA 16 News & Discussion Thread

Tactical was the best thing to happen defending. Automatated defending is fucking excruciating to play against, requires zero forward thinking. Defending is finally a skill now, even if it's currently under powered.

I disagree. I actually used to defend with the same principle of tactical defending (i.e. the selected player I'd use to pick off the passing lanes and anticipate the next move, while using the seecondary press button if the ball carrier had to too much time and space). Now it requires me to use different buttons.

I would have much preferred how it works on PES where you need to double press the same button to make a tackle. Would have been much better IMO.

Same here. It's quite tough to hold the secondary press button, move the player(sprint as well) whilst holding the pressure button and then press the tackle button. Most of the time, i just fight with the buttons rather than the attacker.

Re: FIFA 16 News & Discussion Thread

Theres a clip in that sounds and sights video that looks really good. Looking forward to the demo - why dont they release it earlier? - as PES15 hasnt grabbed me.
I'm buying one football game this year and sticking to it so I want to get it right. I normally buy both but Im getting the Star Wars game so dont have time for 3 games (and dont really have time for 2!) so want to make sure my decision is the right one.

Re: FIFA 16 News & Discussion Thread

I like the turn of the player with the ball @0:55.

Player models seem to look better but Messi´s forefinger at 1:56 :D

Anyways, looks really good and I like the Bundesliga scoreboards!

About tactical defending:
I got quite used to it and don´t find it that bad.
Legacy wasn´t enough for me in FIFA 15.

I put the CPU pressing on square - just like in PES - and the shirt pulling/tackling move on R2.
Works quite well for me this way.

Same here and same dilemma. Star Wars is a must have to me.

Seems like a good idea! Thanks for that control scheme. I feel dumb now.

Yup.
The only thing I can´t really do is pressing the pulling/tackling button (R2) and sprinting (put it to R1) at the same time.

But what works is - if I need to sprint, which I try to avoid while defending - getting my finger off the R1 and quickly push R2 to tackle.
Cause the player doesn´t stop that quick.

I tried so many different button settings but the one mentioned in my last post is the only one I can work with.

Re: FIFA 16 News & Discussion Thread

to beta testers, are those awfull abnormal player emotions fixed?? transition between emotions are too bad in 15. like abnormal robots. i hope they will be more real this year.

I change my config too. I change it to Alternate then secondary team press on square, contain on r1 and tackle on x. I'm actually an xbox player now but still call the buttons the PS ones so whatever square is on xbox :)

Same here. I'll be in for FIFA 16 (unless I really hate the demo) and I am all over the new Star Wars: Battlefront.

Last year I bought bought PES and FIFA. The same the year before that (although I ended up selling PES 2014 because FIFA 14 on PS4 was so good.)

The days of buying two football games are over for me. I'm not going to waste my money.

Re: FIFA 16 News & Discussion Thread

Does the linesman still pull up the corner of his mouth after calling an offside? :)

I FUCKING HATE THAT SHIT!

Rage mode off.

Seriously why the frigg does he do that? Which bell end even put that in? Is he supposed to be smirking at my players?

Fucks sake.

Haha yeah I hate it when they smirk after putting the flag up, makes me want to kick the twat in the head, I used to like it in old FIFA games where you could play on after the half/full time whistle for a few seconds, I used to try and smash the ref with ball, you could injure players as well if you 2 footed them and they would actually be subbed off at the start of the second half.
