FIFA 15 News & Discussion Thread

Gargh! I'd hate to,play against him, and players like that. Skill moves round the keeper ffs...

That video does seem to play better than the arsenal spurs one above, which I thought looked absolutely awful compared to 14.

My most fav. video so far. Looks promising! (maybe with less dribling)

Looks good apart from a few things.

1) They way Sanchez rounds De Gea looks strange.

2) Arsenals 3rd goal is so unrealistic. No one would do that.

One thing I did like was the way they have De Gea's attributes perfect. They have it spot on in his stance when watching the ball fly wide.

This video looks absolutely awful to me. Stupid tricks, even less midfield play, poing pong perfect passing... I don't see any real advance in the franchise since fifa 10, football-wise. Maybe I'm too old and spoiled.

It's why i'll be sticking to career mode yet again.

Even against my mates, when they refuse to play on manual and just play like the guys in these videos not only do I not stand a chance, but it's not fun at all.

I'm not bored of Fifa 14 yet, so i'm happy with just the upgrade to kits and players if nothing else, providing they haven't butchered the gameplay that is. Hopefully Placebo will work his magic on the sliders early on, but I wouldn't be surprised if the changes are so minimal that the Fifa 14 sliders would work pretty well.

Demo is Gamescom which means the shooting and keepers aren't patched.

Why oh why are demos released using old builds? I never understand that.

iv downloaded the demo, played only a few minutes am very disappointed, the game plays like shit, player movement is terrible which was enough for me to turn it off, i really hope this is a very old build, and also players legs are fkn too long, all players look very lanky when trying to dribble the ball, the demo is a mess.

@Scutch where did you get that?

Shooting is also broken, so don't pay too much attention to those two things. It's much and much better in the full game.

The demo is I think the exact same version you got to play at gamescom. GK's are broken asf and ratings are ofc not official :)

Same here. I have some friends playing manual and against which I enjoy the game a lot and... Others who just spam LB+Y and pace like no tomorrow through all the match and won't play manual to save their lives.

Shooting and goalkeepers, two of the most important aspects of the game and we get an old build where both aspects are poor. How are we supposed to build an impression. I agree with above, just release a proper demo with the latest code they have. This makes no sense.

Whats the point of releasing a demo where the keepers and shooting arent up to scratch.
Might as well release one without goalposts as well.

Never heard about "beach mode"?

Sorry, Super Nintendo exclusive.

Is this EA pulling a 'Konami'?
Hint: PES 2012 demo. ;)

Have they genuinely made those pre-match presentation sequences two minutes long? Or is it more the case that it loops continuously until you tap-out to start the match?

It's a full minute before they even get to the team sheets.

I'm all for atmosphere and establishing location, but... it just seems like a bloated waste of time that you'll always skip.

Imagine what will happen online if someone decided to actually watch it

They should really switch to a "press X to watch" method, instead of the "press X to skip" that is in place now.

Agreed.

The game is a mess. After 3 games I had enough. As already stated the shooting & and goalkeepers in particular is shocking. How these two elements are worse than they were in FIFA 14 I don't know.

3 - 4 mins. You have to play a Liverpool v Man City game at the start before it opens up more teams. You can play FUT games too if you're prepared to sit through a tutorial.

I just quit straight out of that match and all the teams were available to me ;-)

A general bugbear of mine is thoughtless dead time in video games. If you're not actively doing something, you should be receiving worthwhile information.

You should be able to do a tight pre-match build-up inside thirty seconds total, with each part telling you something.

~10 seconds establishing location, time-of-day, weather, crowd, occasion.
~15 seconds digesting teamsheet/formation overlays.
~5 seconds preparing for the whistle/KO.

And as Placebo suggested, split it into stages you can button press through.

Otherwise it's a waste of dev time to create something the user can't wait to skip past.
