FIFA 15 News & Discussion Thread

I don't know, IA is way worse than last year. Fifa 14 was a good challenge on World Class and default sliders. And without tiki-taka. It's really strange: from a defensive point of view EA have done good things with Fifa 15 ( minus IA ): you can finally Shield, Fight for the Ball is way better, fouls and no more autotackle. At times it seems everything collapse just because speed and super frantic action.

So the new FIFA 15 patch does nothing for gameplay. What a shock. Bastards.

Fortunately there's quite a few good looking games to look forward to this Fall/Winter.

I can't get enough of this game, loving it. Even had some really good 'Drop In' games where people were passing the ball and actually making an effort to defend.

I think playing on PC is a key factor in why I'm enjoying the online more than usual. From my experience in many games, you run into way less scumbags online on PC compared to when I was on 360.

LMAO. I love this comment..lol its the severity of the word scumbag connect to xbox users lol.

reminds me of the video "ask a ninja" and he says he will one day learn to strangle a kid through the internet because of some trash talk on xbox

This is my experience of FIFA 15, if anyone's interested.

From the best goal I've scored in twenty years of football gaming (that I can't enjoy thanks to the shoddy goalkeepers), to the AI "foibles" I can't overlook.

My particular favourite is the dance-off at the end. This version was supposed to be all about atmosphere and authenticity after all...

YouTube - FIFA 15 Glen Johnson rocket

YouTube - FIFA 15 goalkeeping epic fail

YouTube - FIFA 15 "Legendary" difficulty defending fail

YouTube - FIFA 15 triplets disco

the long shot and the defending can be fixed in 2 minutes with silders and taking off assisted controls/upping shot error (unless you are playing manual and semi and are really good). I certainly see no poor ai defending on legendary mode

I played a Drop In game the other day. I accidentally called for a pass and one call is telling me not to do that. No shit mate. It was an accident! He was a right greedy git though so he was told. I can't stand people who are quick to moan about a little thing and then go and mess everything up themselves by not passing every time. I gave him the benefit of the doubt the first few times but I could tell he was a prat and in the end I had to say something. When I noticed I also told him his name was disgusting. Gary Glitta 4 Life. What sort of vile person would have that as a name?

I use Matt10's sliders and I use semi controls so thanks ;)

The "goalkeeping epic fail" vid and the "disco triplets" vid I'm online (with fully assisted controls because Ultimate Team seems to insist on matching with others who use fully assisted controls, unless I'm missing something?) - the other two, the ones you refer to, are against "legendary" AI with Matt10's sliders.

I do actually think that against the AI there is some difference between matches now, and I am enjoying it in spells of five minutes at a time - but I played Hull this morning on "legendary" and they passed the ball around the outside of the box for literally about 2 minutes (with me unable to get anywhere near them), waiting for an absolutely clear path before deciding to shoot (and then scoring an easy goal as a result). It was like playing Barcelona.

A quick question for those who play the AI though... Is it just me (it may well be), or is it easier on "legendary" than "world class"? I find that on "legendary" the marking is looser in favour of a more open formation, which makes it easier (especially against the bigger teams), whereas on "world class" the pressure is ridiculous and you can't put two passes together.

i think is more challenger to play in worldclass than playing on legendary . i cant explain why , but i feel more fun in worldclass

I've just tested this out, played as Liverpool v Hull on World Class and Legendary - lost 2-0 on World Class, drew 1-1 on Legendary. Tried again - lost 2-0 on World Class, won 2-1 on Legendary.

On World Class I didn't get a sniff of the ball, the AI had about 80% passing accuracy and 65% possession each time. On Legendary, the passing was 10% less accurate and possession was even.

I wonder if it's related to certain types of play? The marking/pressing on World Class was ridiculous (constant and superhuman) whereas it was far more laid back on Legendary - but you could see the AI trying to put attacks together more often. I wonder if I tried with a team who had less marking/pressure in their strategy, the difficulties would reverse due to the AI giving less attention to certain areas?

I played as Liverpool v Standard Liege on World Class and won 2-0, should have won by more. Which makes me think there's some weird AI clash going on somewhere (not played them on Legendary).

I find the major difference on world class is they make more mistakes in passing even with the sliders set to default

legendary just seems to disregard stats all together and everyteam plays at 100mph doing sharp turns

So weird that I have the opposite problem. On World Class I find the AI playing like superstars, whereas on Legendary they make enough mistakes and press little enough to give me half a chance.

Wonder if it's to do with Matt10's sliders too? (This is on Xbox One.)

Is there a bug or glitch or something when searching for all manual Seasons matches? Sometimes I get one straight away and other times it literally just will not find an opponent for me. This is using 4/5 star teams too, not really low rated teams. Annoying as fuck. Been sat here pressing search for the last 25 mins.

Maybe there is a link between manual and older peeps that are out working at this time of day.

I managed to find a game at lunchtime after a few mins.

Wish I hadn't though as he tried every exploit in the book.

Can't get a single manual match online ( PS4 ) with a 3 star team, since start i'm playing Seasons without searching filter. Most of the time i get rabid dogs with 100% pressing, high pressure, full assisted. Hard as hell to play with them ( and not funny, of course ).

Might be a decent shout actually. Maybe I'll have to try semi assisted...

Couldn't find a semi game either so I went assisted just to check it's still working. Found a game straight away. So I played it. Jesus wept, never fucking again. 100mph ping pong shit. Assisted is complete bollocks. Absolutely no skill whatsoever, just pass, pass, pass, shoot. Never again.

this is what annoys me about fifa 15 stupid bugs

and this goal I scored is what I love about it

If it happens that I can't find a manual game I just won't play as it will annoy me more having to play against the rubbish you just described. I've done what you did to give it a try and regretted it every single time so like you've said, never again.

I probably wouldn't mind assisted online if just throughballs were manual. I don't mind the ping pong passing too much - it's that these killer passes are too easy to make.

Has anyone tried semi online? I wonder what that's like. I've never been able to get a match myself.

I'm not surprised, there is a very definite manual community and even then it's a bit of a struggle to find matches.

In any case, FIFA's default is assisted on all but crossing which is semi. 'Semi' changes shots and passes to semi, that's all. It's not really the semi you want.

As I said in the chatbox, I would rather sit and watch the menu screen for 15 minutes than play an assisted match.

I'm in the same boat.
I don't mind assisted passing, as it makes midfield play more realistic than manual passes going astray constantly but I'd really like to see throughballs and shooting being manual as default (especially lobbed throughballs) but I just can't see that ever happening

Also, I feel I'm forced into "ping pong" passing by how quickly opposing players can close down the guy I'm controlling.
By the time I've received the ball, controlled it and picked out a pass, I've normally got 2 players all over the top of me whereas if I just pass it first time I'm not really losing any accuracy and it's now the safer option

Agreed its frustrating that it's the only option against pressure whores. I find playing online they wont even allow you take a quick low pass to your defense.

I tried holding the ball anticipating the tackle but even when you have your back turned to the opponent he manages to get the ball through you without a foul.

700mph midfield play is nowhere near realistic. How many times a game do you see the pros knock it about at breakneck speed? I see them lose the ball when doing it though. Maybe I'm decent at manual passing as I don't see anything that's really out of the ordinary when in a midfield battle. Of course I give the ball away but it doesn't really look out of place. To see the ball be zipped about at ridiculous speed is not more realistic at all from the experience I have with the game. I like to see challenges and battles in midfield. You don't get that by pingponging your way through every single time and the midfield part of the game becomes null and void.
