FIFA 15 News & Discussion Thread

Me can´t get enough of this game.

Really enjoying it. Been trying a little FUT too, offline yet.

Annoying though: why can´t I save my formation settings in FUT?
Gotta set the tactics every time before a game.
Or did I just miss something?

I'm currently playing a career as Aston Villa. Im loving this game so much but I'm getting fed up of being constantly drawn against premiership opposition in cup matches. Every year I hope this has changed but its still there. Just needs more variety!

Anyone elsed peeved by this?

it is a damn good game but (and I know its been mentioned 100 times before) career mode AI cheating is maybe worse than ever isnt it?

I started an MK Dons career things that are annoying me is the CPU build up play I think it was against crawley town and they just kept the ball around my area for like 30 passes twisting and turning before getting it into the 6 yard box and finishing it.

The other thing is being 2-1 up and the AI plays a long ball either from wide or the halfway line into the box and they head it in haha the fact the ball they play travels at 200mph doesnt help it look less scripted

oh well it will feel good when I can break this CPU cheating by improving enough

I agree with this. Have had to stop CM for my blood pressure. It's amazing, the 'real' gameplay experience is genuinely excellent. Strange things happen that you never see in CM, such as clearances going to either team, first-time shots from your strikers under-pressure, keeper deflections going to defenders and attackers. It's like the Twilight Zone.

I play CM on Manual and yes there is AI cheating at times, but honestly, it less apparent than previous versions. I have also seen very few games when my team is somewhat handicapped and slow. It is there but I have not experienced it as much this year. When I feel that the AI is acting strange I simply re start the game; Other than these issues this year's Fifa is one of the best.

Well, I can't take another WC phrase anymore from the commentators . It drowns me !!

I counted the world cup references in my last match. There were 6. Im also sick and tired of hearing about the "world cup of 2014"..aarrgghh

Yeah they have removed the option all together now. Didn't work in 14 either Lol

After playing it for the past few day's i have to say i quite like it, People saying there not much difference between 14 and 15, I see allot of difference, It's more tactical, he instructions work allot better, Formations work better, And Legendary mode is allot better now as well, With the right Sliders the game deffo feels allot more realistic....:SMUG:

Fifa 15 thankfully is satisfying to me. Earlier I was mentioning did stats other than the physical ones really matter? I can clearly say yes they do.

Example, playing CM on legendary mode, using Liverpool...who really haven't got any good DM's. So started playing and I was getting my ass handed to me, even with five at the back. I have come to the conclusion that defending in Fifa is broken down into 3 things:

1) Timing - the right time to press standing tackle.
2) Blocking - Not going in for the challenge, just blocking the CPU from making the pass or cross it wants to do.
3) Luck - Yes there is a bit of luck involved because the ball will knock off your defenders and can end up anywhere. Which is a good thing.

So after many many games I have finally found a formula for succeeding against legendary mode, be it a tad unrealistic, but it is very satisfying winning against the cpu on this mode.

The formation....5-3-2...Two DM....1 AM....2 ST.

I always make my WB overlap, my strikers to stay central, and my AM to stay forward.

Ok even using this, I was getting beat. The problem? Lack of good defenders. Sakho, Lovren, Skirtel, although there OVR stat is borderline 80, they lack the proper stats for defending.

So here is the unrealistic part. I pretty much sold my entire team to fund for 5, yes 5 defenders who can

a) Jump
b) Marking
c) Standing Tackle
D) Acceleration.

For me the top 3 are the most important, make sure all those stats are above 80 or very close. I bought (off top of my head) Juan Jesus, Iningo Martinez, the French PSG defender beginning with M? Manouqusomething, young lad, Radu from Lazio and Caceras from Juventus.

The reason I have CB for WB is simple. When the CPU crosses, if you have a small WB, he will get out jumped and they will score. The two DM I got were Matuldi and Gustavo (apologies for spelling). Then upfront is all about pace and strength. Balotelli, Sturridge and Markovic as AM.

Team tactics, fast build up, short passing, high risk creativity, narrow defending (this is because the CPU can turn you in an instant so you need to crowd the penalty area to have bodies in there) and high pressure.

After doing this I will honestly say that against really good teams, your goals will come from counter attacking with the quick guys upfront. Other teams you can score a variety of goals, crosses, through balls.

Hope this helps anyone who is struggling with Legendary mode and just wants to win against the CPU. The lesson I have learnt here is that the CPU can twist and turn you out in a heart beat and can score easily against you. Especially against 5* teams. So I take great satisfaction in scoring goals against them even if it is a pacey guy running from 40 yards out sprinting past a defender!

Interesting read Daniel , My fullbacks are small and loose allot in the air, what your saying make's allot of sense, I prefer a 4-42 with 2 attacking wingers and a big 6+ target man for knock downs and set plays, Working well for me so far.

Pye, If you are winning with 4-4-2 against legendary mode good teams, then I take my hat off to you sir.

Yeah replace the the WB with some big CB and you wont concede as much from crosses, but it does sacrifice WB overlap play, but that's probably evened out with your RW and LW :)

Bought the game on pc. Its ok not bad not great. I was getting a bit bored with it waiting for a certain other game to come out thinking should I just have waited for PES. When disaster, while checking my credit card online I noticed a charge for 69.99 on my bill. Checked it and somehow I am the owner of FIFA 15 on PS4 now to. wtf. Account has not been hacked and no one else has access to my PS4 this weekend, not a pre order cause its a month after release and the worst thing no f**king refunds from PSN for digital purchases. Has anyone heard of a phantom purchase before

That sure is strange!

Anyway, about tactics, its kinda funny because after all we all are trying to win with diferent ways. I understand the CB in SB position, but its a strategic option. I trained so hard and finally I get how to defend on this game and now I consider it to be the best soccer game ever. Its beatifull when we do the correct things and start watching the CPU playing another way, simply because he is forced to. I can use SB´s to defend properly and I prefer fast small SB´s because I can risk a bit more in attack, and still recover fast enough in counters. Its just a matter of correct positioning before anything else.
Most of my games now I can cover passing lanes even on CPU counters and its so satisfying watching the CPU literally giving up fast forward plays and starting to look for other ways, like deep crossing, long shooting etc...

Its so amazing the hardness of this game because we have to battle every game, instead of beating any team after we find all the tricks to do it. CPU is realistic, smart and will exploit us if we let him. Teams also play diferent and we have to adapt, exploring each team´s weakness.

You are totally spot on.

I am experiencing so much variety in games. Won last game 4-2...just drew 0-0...and its true, every game is a battle because the CPU can score easier than you can.

I have one gripe though with the AI regarding lesser CPU teams, and that is when you are smashing them by a comfortable difference, they don't have any damage limitation tactic, its just they will constantly attack so the score line gets bigger. Not a big deal but maybe a future iteration will introduce this.

p.s how annoying is it when the CPU is winning or they are satisfied with a draw and they play keep ball and time wasting tactics! love it but so frustrating!

p.p.s Regarding the post about hacking, must be a messed up day cos just realised my steam account has been accessed by someone else in france:SHOCK: off topic but don't forget its free to play 10 games on steam weekend starting tomorrow.
