Fifa 13: Career Mode Discussions

Bought a financial takeover, hoping for a small boost for my Blackpool career! Accidentally loaded a Fleetwood Autosave, now have a Npower League 2 team with £41.6m to spend, blessing for a fun CM or epic fail for my serious CM?! All I know is this could be fun.
 
The transfer system in this game is so buggy.

First I joined Newcastle at the start of a new season moving from Cardiff. A week or so in we have a friendly and I'm subbed at half time and notice I'm keeping cisse out of the team. Feeling unrealistic I decide to try going out on loan so I request a loan.

What happens though is the game has essentially put me up for transfer and all the news reports and commentary lines are saying that's what I've done and I want out of the club. The transfer window is nearly finished and I've not had a single loan offer.... I've had about 8 transfer offers though.

So not only can you join a club and then be transferred to another's a day later and presumably do it again and again and again. As many times as you want.

But asking to be sent out on loan means you want to quit the club.



So frustrating yet again playing career mode on FIFA. Last year it was riddled with errors and game breaking bugs ... This year it's the same crao yet again. Who the hell tests these games?
 
Does anyone know: does the Talk to the Press feature actually do anything beyond have the commentators say something in reaction?

Is there maybe a dice roll that goes on in the background after you choose an option that has an impact on Form or Morale or something?

With all the press conferences, it'd be nice to know whether I'm just wasting my time with this feature.
 
I have just started my second season at Arsenal and am about 3 quarters of the way through the summer transfer window and below are my acquisitions so far;

On the Soccergaming forum someone posted lines from one of the ini files, and it contained attribute adjustments for 'Team_Inspired', 'Team_Rattled', 'Player_Inspired' and 'Player_Rattled', in reaction to press comments. Presumably there's a dice roll involved like you suggest.

Seems to me like another of those features for which the original idea is good, but is never lavished with the attention necessary to see it through.

I wouldn't mind the increased matches as it doesn't effect your players levels of energy if you don't use them at international level, I also wouldn't want to manage just an international side as this would remove the transfer opportunities from the game.

For those who have took up international jobs can you use any player from that nation like grant holt for England even though he isn't listed I the standard English squad?
 
You better be able to choose anyone you want, scouting for foreign teams might be a bitch unless they just give you a list of everyone for that nation

You can pick anyone you want, and yes they just give you a list to pick from.. I managed South Africa for half a year, it's a really boring inclusion and genuinely I only used it to give a couple if youngsters game time who couldn't get into my Blackpool team.

I disagree - I'm managing Switzerland and its a nice change of pace playing International games.
 
They have GOT to fix the 'freeze' bugs in the career mode. Am doing an MLS season, just made it to the semi-finals of the US Open Cup - big deal for my terrible SJ team - and I'm up 3-1 at the 88th minute, go to do a sub and the bastard freezes. No way I'll be able to replicate that again.

So. Annoying.
 
Matches like that I would do something like set the CPU goalkeeper to 0 or CPU passing error to 100 until the score is replicated then resume it to normal :)
 
Anyone who's activated the financial transfer item gotten into their second season yet? Just wondering if you get the same amount of cash. The catalogue describes it as a 'cash injection' so I'm guessing its just the one off amount? (which I would prefer - don't want lots of money to spend again!)
 
So finished 8th, not sure if it'll be enough for the board as I negotiated extra transfer funds with the promise of challenging for Europe, which I assumed was a Euro spot (7th or better) turns out that according to my management tab that should have been 5th or better, oops :(

Have three loan to buys that would turn out really good for me (eg £1.5m agreed for a player now worth £4.5m) but every time I go to confirm the transfer the game freezes so I guess I have to let them go back to their clubs now :(

Finally got a decent international job offer, Cameroon! Decided to take it as they're in the world cup which starts in two weeks so they have a decent set of players will give it a bash, aim is to qualify from the group, as I'm up against Spain, Scotland and Romania I think it should be doable :)

I'd also just like to add that I can't believe how much Lecointe has grown already - he was rated 55 when I sent him out on loan to Northampton at the start of last season and he came back with a rating of 60. Now after 10 league games and a few cup matches, he's up to 65! He's only played in about 4 of those matched too haha :D

In contrast Brosque hasn't grown a single point, but then again he was 28 when I picked him up, 29 now. So I guess he isn't as likely to grow...

I am coming up to the transfer window in my first season with blackburn rovers.

Sitting 5th in the league. I also got offers from Ireland and columbia, however I just stalled them and Mexico came in for me.

Only played 2 friendlies with them, but having much better players gives it an international feel for me. Do you have to go through qualifiers to get to the world cup?
 
Anybody figured a way to make the AI retain the ball more and play more patiently? Fed up them pinging the ball forward instantly as soon as they gain possession.
 
Just a quick CM update, as I have been distracted by UT.
14 matches into MM with Liverpool, Top with 38 pts(12 Wins, 2 Draws No Losses)

Offered first International Management post with Belguim who at first I wasn't sure but they have the likes of Hazard, Fellani, Vermaelen etc they sound interesting.

I've noticed that Messi is worth £73 mil lol(thought he was £100 mil in F12.) Im thinking of being slightly cheeky and try to buy him in Jan lol I have the financial takeover thing and was given £60 mil, although his wage demands are v high i know i won't get him lol worth it tho.
Over the yrs ive managed to get villa, rooney, casillas, alonso etc all to liverpool so why not lol

I tried to 'Unnerve' Ibra before my Le Mans side clashed with PSG in the French cup...he scored 6 goals in an 8-2 thrashing. :COAT:

I tried to 'unnerve' Pantimillion for my C1C QF match v Man City only for him to 'Chicken Out' and Hart was in Goal. Luckily I won 4-1 lol
 
Whenever I try to 'motivate' any of my players it seems more like 'unnerve' to me. Last time, Kennedy had a 7 match streak without scoring, I tried to motivate him and then a newsflash appears saying I told him he needed more discipline and to stop being booked...

the bugs everyone has listed... the loan issue... guys out on loan did not return to their team. did we see a line item that the patch fixes this?

loving this game, as far as CM goes, anyway. i am sure there are major issues i am ignoring or might encounter, but right now the experience feels really deep. was at arsenal, fired, now at villareal. playing in spain feels different because of the make up of the individual players... heres hoping for some king of qualification... tw, hector conteros is sick. if you are looking for a technical, though not physically, gifted midfielder, check him out. i did not have anyone at arsenal (including arteta) that could hit the long pass or the free kick like conteros. not a diamond, but very good player to build a team around

Where your team Wolves still in 2nd division when you bought those players or had you gained promotion to EPL?
