I moved up from professional on to world class and noticed a huge difference,i now enjoy the game much more which i never thought would be possible.

I got rid of Chadwick and Griffiths at long last, i'm especially glad to see Chadwick go... he was terrible. As a replacement for them both, I brought in this 'Siyabonga Nomvethe' bloke on a free. He's a 35-year-old South African striker who, on paper, looks like a steal with his 80 odd ratings for ball control, dribbling and acceleration; his finishing is sadly only at 72 but that's still bloody good for League 2! I got him on only a 1-year-deal, thinking he's obviously going to retire soon but he could hopefully do a job for a season, maybe two.

He hasn't scored in six games, however. Probably only 2 or 3 of those were starts... but still he just can't seem to find the net. Martin Tyler and Alan Smith were even talking about his poor start and how the fans weren't too happy to see him waiting to come on at the touchline! haha :APPLAUD:

I may give him a shot in midfield at some point, his control and touch are really good.

I also had a bit of a scare near the end of the window too as Hourihane ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament and will be sidelined for up to 7 months :SHOCK: I simmed up until deadline day before i realised how short i was left in midfield :CONFUSE: I quickly raked through the free agents and signed up this dude called Georgi Sarmov. He's basically just a stop-gap player... unless he turns out to be super awesome ;)

Yeah i moved up from Professional to World Class a short while ago. I was dominating games constantly before, but now on World Class, it's so much more enjoyable and realistic... even if my defence is shipping quite a few more goals nowadays :CONFUSE:

Nomvethe is an old Aalborg BK player - He was really good and I loved watching him when going to the stadium and on TV :) His technique is immense. He
 
Wow I'm fuming!

Playing Career pro but using the whole team. I have been starting every game this season...every game! I have been chasing Chelsea all season, I have been 1 point below them in second for about 3 months now.

I have been waiting for our game as it will basically be the title decider, it is at Stamford bridge and Wenger doesn't put me in to play?! so I have to sim the match :((

I have reset the save 4 times now but it is obviously there to not let me play the game and Chelsea keep winning as they have a better team than me when I sim.

So after starting every game of the season, Chasing Chelsea down all season, the game gives me a great big kick in the nuts for no reason?!!!

I am going to keep resetting until I get at least a draw, because this is ridiculous...:CRY:
 
I just want to get some opinions from you experienced guys here.

What team do you think I should opt to Manage in a Brand New Career Mode???

I'm not asking for your Favourites just who you think will make management worthwhile?? As a player part I actually enjoyed playing at Charlton.

Maybe there are clubs out there not really known but have stars in the making etc
I usually use just the usual clubs to play as.
Also with previous FIFA Games i've generally stuck to Amateur mode until i get used to it but as a casual player I don't really change, granted I went up thru Semi Pro then Pro on FIFA 12 but this time i thought sod it started on Semi Pro.
Ppl may say I must be crap at it which tbh I'm not but I'd rather be able to play it then get annoyed and stressed at it, the end of the day its a game lol

Anyway if you guys could suggest teams for me I am looking to actually challenge myself instead of sticking to Liverpool all the time.

Ha ha, woops.

After I simmed and drew, it came up afterwards saying I am back after my 1 game suspension....I totally forgot about that :LOL: I got sent off in the FA Cup, but between that I had the two England games and forgot about it :DD.....oh well.

If I was to start a fresh I would go for either;
Swansea city-have a great style of play and are an underdog within the premier league with many areas to develop
Athletic Bilbao-also have a great style of play but have many emerging talents in the likes of muniain and susaeta, get to compete against some of the best teams in the world that play the best football in the world
Rotherham or sheffield united-local teams and no real reason other than this

Certainly good suggestions there,
My fav team is Liverpool so thats usually a no brainer but I actually like the squad this time around minus a few,
I grew up in Bristol so City would be a choice too,
As for Local My Nearest is Crystal Palace lol

So Liverpool I have a CM started already.
Bilbao is far the best option so far
Think I will wait on few more suggestions and when i reach 10 - 15 maybe chuck them in a hat and draw out a random :)

Well I usually go for lower league teams and slowly build them up while eventually gaining promotion to the premiership; I just find it really enjoyable and engrossing.

I'm having a blast with Plymouth, as they do have some decent young prospects to develop. Charlton have been fun to use in the past too, for me.

I went FSV Mainz in Fifa 12 and I got a good few seasons of enjoyment out of that save too.

Generally I'd recommend any lower league team (as long as you have patience), or a foreign mid-to-bottom table club :p

Interesting, what formation did you play in past FIFA games? All I've used the last several years has been variants of a 4-3-3 (and sometimes a 3-4-3) and I've been successful against CPU and human opponents. 4-3-3 has always seemed great to me, it covers so much of the pitch while still retaining dominance in center midfield.
 
Anyone experience this apparent player contracts bug in which you renew players' contracts but some of them come up as a negative in the contracts list?

It's happened to me at the end of my first season. I renewed contracts, all the players accepted them, but I get emails saying I have players running out, it's listed as negative years, and I can't do anything 'cause when I click on them to renew, it says that I've already done so.
 
So I started a new season and 4 of my players are now Free Agents.

So be warned: player contract renewal is bugged.

The game basically robbed me of 4 players.

They weren't important players but I had been hoping of selling them and reinvesting their fees. Real bummer.
 
I think I found a work-around of sorts. I reverted to an end of season save. Instead of renewing all the contracts that were expiring at once - I think I had about 9 players with expiring contracts - I did them in bunches of 3.

I got no negative contracts and I've started a new season with my entire squad intact.

Go figure.

I think its great that you can buy a player of that age on a 1 year contract, because their guile & experience may be just what an under performing lower ranked club needs as a short term fix.

For the same reasons, Im seriously tempted by Lee Trundle! :)

Enjoy my CM as manager of Le Mans.

On Legendary with Placebo's sliders tweaked slightly. Only problem is that I always seem to boss possession (60/40 most games) and have 3 times as many shots as the CPU, but draw a lot of games 1-1. :BORED:

Also, whereas I have score 30-yarders, headers, tap ins, etc. The CPU only seems to even try to score from through balls for a 1-on-1. I would occasionally like them to speculate with a distance shot or a cross.

Anyone notice that the generic crowd chants aren't all that generic? Just playing as Wednesday v Bolton and the crowd are singing a Tottenham chant, previous match was Wednesday v Everton and the crowd were chanting "united, united", really crappy.

I freed up a load of cash by accidentally selling Suarez for £37.5m to Madrid (they only offered £22m so I countered with something I presumed they'd turn down) and recalling Carroll (for about £2.4m).

With the spare cash I was able to buy Agbonlahor, Ben Arfa and Sessegnon and bring Leandro in on loan.

I now rotate all four without noticing any decline in my performances as they've all got different skills.
 
Somehow the CPU nearly always manages to score within seconds after I score myself. I find it almost impossible to hold on to a lead.

Also it seems that every CPU attack is a counter attack. A more appropriate term would be fast break. But I don't know, that can also have something to do with the formation with which I'm currently playing, probably not defensive enough (especially since I have two backs with high offensive work rates, one of them even has low defensive work rate). So I gotta tweak my formation first.

Oh, and it also seems that the CPU is way better at receiving passes and controlling the ball than I am. Which can also be frustrating.

And I generally go "ultra-defensive" straight after scoring.

If you think about it, most teams do lower their attacking mentality right after scoring so it's quite realistic.
