Fifa 13: Career Mode Discussions

Started 3rd season with Chelsea.

Must say that old squad was pretty much sold and brought in young lads, pretty much doing Wenger wannabe sort of thing.

Brought in: Rodrigo (sold in 2nd season to Barcelona for 31.5mln), El Shaarawy (sold later for 17.5mln to Juventus), Jovetic, Neymar (after selling Rodrigo), Lucas Moura, Clyne, Redmond, ter Stegen (sold for 9mln to Udinese), Leno (bought after losing Stegen :D), Zouma, Fernando, Adryan (sold this season for 34.5mln to Bayern), Maher (another one I bought in 1st season, sold in 3rd for 20mln to Milan :D), Mbaye, Belhanda (new signing in 3rd season), Lamela (new signing also in 3rd), Kalas.

Sold in 1st and 2nd season: Lampard, Cech, Cole, Sturridge, Mata, Terry, Malouda, Ivanovic, Ferreira. Probably forgot about few ;).

Must say that on paper, it's pretty much World Class team walking the league.

DC: Kalas/Cahill
DR: Clyne/Azpilicueta
DM: Fernando/Mikel
ML: Hazard/Ola John/De Brunye/Marin :P

ST: Neymar/Lukaku/Moses

All players rated 80+ and pretty young still :D.

Neymar feels like God though... Unbelievable agility, ball control, acceleration and sprint speed...

Unfortunately, Jovetic suffered broken knee and is out for 7 months :(.

One thing I noticed is players that develop and play often, do get new traits and special cards.

Thought about managing Internationally, but decided not to bother. Had a thought about changing club, but losing such team would be heart breaking ;).

Maybe after 3rd season ^^.

EDIT:

Not using any sliders, only Rique Realistic Tactics and Pro difficulty.

EDIT2:

After new patch from EA, Deadline bug is fixed ;).

I've started as Atletico. I cannot recommend signing Kurt Zouma highly enough. Beast of a centre back, despite being 73 rated his stats are in the right places, and has gone to 75 in the space of 2/3 months

He already is 83 in my game xD. 3 seasons in.

Beast of defender. Combined with Dede/Luiz you're dead sold in the back...

Fernando with Tactican card in front is also nice choice :).

EDIT:

Hazard just whooped to 94! (exceeding expectations by 2 O_O).

EDIT 2:

Neymar and Ola John now out for 8 and 3 weeks -.-

Crazy! Now I don't have proper strikers... But wait... Lucas is coming back and he can play CF... Sweet :D.

Update on my Plymouth career:

I just played Gillingham in the FA Cup, we dominated from start to finish. A real quality performance at last :SMUG:

One player in particular, Johnny Gorman, has impressed me though. He's starting to become one of my star players, which is a shame because he'll be heading back to Wolves at the end of the season, when his loan runs out.

He should have been gone last year but the bug bought me an extra season :APPLAUD:

It's highly unlikely i'll be able to buy him back too as his value has rocketed up to £1,400,000 since i've had him here :((

Is there a way to see the remaining wage budget I have for contract renewals? It doesn't seem to be the same as the wage budget for transfers...

I've been trying to renew 2 players contracts both on £2k/week, but whenever I offer either of them renewals they decline because there is not enough budget left (I have over 2k left on the 'transfer' wage budget) :THINK:
 
On peoples Virtual Pro careers . I've seen a few videos where their player has been subbed off and the game is then simmed to the end, Yet when I get subbed off I have to control the whole team. Anybody have sim moments in their game?

It only makes me sim when I have been injured, if I get subbed I continue to control the whole team (But I control the whole team anyway in VP mode)

You need to pay a re-negotiation fee as well, so you can't set the transfer slider to 0/100 for example, if you look on the left hand side near the bottom it shows how much the cost is to negotiate the contract, often around £15,000 but could be more or less depending on the player.

Ahh the signing on fee - it's only around the 1k mark for these lads :BOP:

I'd start a new one.

Given the buggy nature of the game even IF you start a NEW CM and WITH the patch, then that's the least precaution I would take.
 
Couple of freezes, in CM that was about it, was hoping it would at least fix some very basic things such as default match ball and custom chants etc.

Nope. Continued it and it didn't have any bugs.

The best thing about career mode this year is, buy young sell high. Wenger approves. ;)

Bought my whole Chelsea eleven for <50mln. Sold 2 players for over 80mln :LOL:.
 
Been waiting for the patch to come so I can finally start a serious CM.

Started a new CM mode with Middlesborough.

First bit of a business, recall Stephen McManus back from loan! Low on CB's anyway and all are injury prone like Mr. Woodgate who's actually already out for the first 7 weeks (having downloaded latest update)

I'd never seen this before where you START a new CM and a player is ALREADY out injured. Cool stuff.
 
Hadn't had a single bug before tonight and now my first match since the patch has frozen mid-game when trying to access Team Management.

I'm gutted to be honest as my struggling Villareal team were beating high flying Sevilla 3-1 with just 10 minutes to go.

Bet I can't beat them when I try again.
 
I feel for you mjp. :(

EA have really fucked things up this year. A MONTH after the game was released, we still don't have a proper working game!
 
So i'm now at the last day of December, just about to kick off a match against title-rivals Charlton.

Hourihane has confirmed that he wants to leave because of his homesickness; which is bad enough considering he's one of my top players, but then the media report that Blackburn Rovers are closing in on his signature... no one seems to notice that they aren't, in fact, a northern irish club :CONFUSE:

Replay the game with the sliders all the way down in speed and such for the cpu and make it 3-1 with 10 minutes to go. Then bring your sliders back how is was before, problem solved. ;)
 
Thanks for your sympathy @PLF and your excellent suggestion @scorpio, I managed to get another win with a 90th minute winner, against the run of play; 1-0. Poetic justice I think.
 
First game played post download patch and an invisible substitute played the last 15 minutes - wearisome. If I wanted half-finished software that required so much user play testing to get it right I'd have bought a PC. Time to moan at EA.
 
I decided to go AS Monaco this season as I thought it would be interesting to take a team who had fallen from grace and try to restore some pride to the club. Plus they had a good budget.:BOP:

I've currently played 19 games and sit top of Ligue 2, 5 points clear of 2nd place Auxerre.I got knocked out of the Coupe de la Ligue by Bastia in the 2nd round unfortunately. I'm just about to play Brest in the Coupe Nationale.

Signed 4 players in the summer and I hope to sign a keeper now that it's January as I sold my first choice Subasic to Schalke. I also managed to persuade my board to give an extra £1.5 million which will come in handy.
 
What a joke of a game by EA.
Trying to enter my third season with Walsall (won promotion) and my team doesn't transfer into Championship.
End season, do the loading and my team is nowhere on the table, only friendly matches listed in the calendar.
I've reloaded a few times but it's always the same result after starting up the new season.

No comment really.
They've delivered some buggy crap-fests over the years but this one must be their new low.
To think I considered entering 20 custom formations and tactics to make the manager mode more realistic, I'd highkick the console had this happened after doing that.

David Rutter needs firing.
 
zlophasha, was this CM with Walsall started after the new patch?

That really is terrible! I feel for you dude. :(
 
No, started it two weeks ago.
Shambles, nothing else to say, I'll try restarting before the season ends a few more times tomorrow.

I can only say buy Schurrle if you like to hit ball from 25+ yards out into net :D. The guy is INSANE. Like laser guided balls to top corner O_O.

Impressive and costs ~10mln :o.
 
Is anyone still having problems in career mode since they installed the patch?

I am just downloading it now and i'm reading a lot of people are having worse problems since the patch.
 
I've had a couple of freezes since the update so no idea if it's improved, the same or worse, be interesting to see if I can play a match on deadline day but I doubt it.
