Fifa 13: Career Mode Discussions

started over in CM as my pre patch one wouldnt advance... whatever.

so going with arsenal. currently 5th, but pretty far behind 4th so likely to be fired if i dont make the champions league...

one complaint and one bit of praise...

why on earth have they not been able to fix changing the captains band DURING the match. if the captain comes off, vice captain should be appointed!! little but wtf

now praise and the be careful what you wish for

so OX goes down with an MCL tear out for 4 months. no change on his stats. 1 month into rehab, he loses a point on acceleration, speed, agility. two months into rehab he loses a total of 2 points for each. i have 2 more months to go!! guess thats real. pitty such a promising career... on to the next though...

He should get it back in theory, and yes it's a good thing I noticed it as well with a goalkeeper of mine that got injured.

WHAT THE FUCK?
 
Uhh lost 2 of my top players in this January window already - Gorman's loan spell suddenly ended and Hourihane decided Leeds was significantly closer to Ireland than Plymouth, and buggered off there.
I did manage to pick up £1 mil for him though, which at least makes it a little better.

I never do 'proper business' in January, generally, so i'm only looking at bringing in players on loan at the moment.

To replace Hourihane I brought in this 'Thom Haye' bloke from AZ Alkmaar, and i've made contact with Blackburn about the loan of Fabio Nunes - his wages were dirt cheap, to replace Gorman.

So that's one prodigal son already left 'the wonderful' Plymouth Argyle, I really hope no one else gets any ideas soon...

Fabio Nunes looks a very decent player from what I've seen of him in real life and he's not too bad in Fifa 13 (although I am only in the first season still) but I presume he'll reach the high 60's early 70's and be a very decent squad player after 3-5 seasons.
 
just went thru a crazy transfer window...

arsenal CM...

first, real madrid came knocking for gervino. the range they say i could get is 14-19... so i counter with 19.5m and they bite... ok got some kitty...

then city comes calling for corzola (range was 19-25mm)... i countered with 35.5mm. a number i would actually take for a 28 year old... and citeh bites!..

then wilshire puts in a transfer request. i try to hang on, saying no to 34.5mm from bayern m. eventually the board sold wilshire for 19.5mm... ah that sucks.

so with my kitty brought in rodrigo, neymar, and nocerino.

just crazy. but fun
 
Shit happens in this game...

At times...

Bought Schurrle for 13mln. Season later Bayern comes in with 27mln bid. I counter with 37mln hoping they back out of the deal... They go through with it...

I was not willing to sell my best LM :(.

Also I did see C. Ronaldo handling in transfer request :LOL:.

OK Manager Career Update!!

Season 1 has ended.
Liverpool finished 12 Points ahead of Chelsea at the top of the Premier League.
We also Beat QPR 5-0 in the Capitol 1 Cup Final and Fulham 4-0 in the FA Cup Final.
So into Season 2 of my managerial career.

My first thoughts were to have a shuffle of my pack as it were.
so I've dipped my hand into the transfer cookie jar ahead of the pre season games with a £65 million Budget!!
Purchased Higuain for £21,000,000 & Pacheco who I rarely used.
and Cavani for £30,000,000
Kolorov for £2,000,000 & Enrique(has been playing really badly)
Joe Hart for £7,000,000

Sold Walcott to Milan for £14,000,000(only bought for £6,000,000)
and Glen Johnson wanted to leave and thus sold to stoke for £5,700,000
Mystery Investor arrives boosting my budget from £14,000,000 to a LARGE £71,000,000
I've messed around with the allocation leaving nearly £60,000,000 for players and £385,000 for wages.
Trying for seal deals for Kyle Walker(with johnson going) Gotze from Dortmund, Schurrle from Bayer, Mascherano from Man U(pmsl) and Muniesa from barca on loan

OK So Transfer Talks Broke Down With Stoke and The Press Say Glen Johnson said NO to them lol
on my Right Back situation, Kyle Walker has agreed to join for £14,000,000
21 Year old Center back Muniesa has been allowed to join on Season long loan with option to buy. I will let u know how he pans out(He has the Potential to be Special on his bio)
I have also decided to recall Andy Carroll from Loan as it didn't automatically end his spell at West Ham

Starting my 3rd CM season now. I have been drifting from FIFA pc to PES pc but now I have gone to FIFA ps3 and I personally conclude that this is the best game and best version of it.

So I have started afresh again with Southend in NP league 2.
I sold 3 players,

Chambers to Dunbalk (?)
Agyakwa to AFC Wimbledon
Harris to Aldershot got £40,000 not bad for a 35 year old.

Brought in 5 free agents, Luis Gutierrez, Calderon, Guizasola, Chumacero, and Cabrera, all are in the first team now.

Our top player at the moment though has to be Assombalonga, a very strong striker with a good finish who is on loan from Watford. He is league 2's top scored at the moment with 4 goals in 5 league games.

Sitting top of league 2 at the moment with 13 pts, Northampton have 11. So quite tight.
I was playing on World Class but decided to up it to Legendary because I was finding it slightly easier than when I was playing the friendlies.

Best game so far has to be our 2nd round game at home to Reading in the league cup, they were lying 18th in prem with only 1 goal for and 10 against in 4 games (I think).

It was such a tense game, they had quite a few chances in he first half, they hit the crossbar with a free kick then their player volleyed the rebound wide from outside the box. Then they had one on one (can't remember their players) but hit the post only for their follow up effort to be straight at the keeper.

For us Assombalonga was causing them problems at the other end without really troubling their goal.

Second half we had more chances but just couldn't finish them.

They brought on Pogrebnyak. But we were keeping him quiet.

Then extra time comes, the game is so tense at this moment. Then they get a penalty in the 108th minute but it was clearly outside the box. Pogrebnyak shoots wide. Then a minute later Cabrera (for us) picks up the ball from outside the box and drills it home superbly. We hold on for the win.

What I liked though was the tension and there were quite a lot of fouls about 10, and 3 yellow cards.

Next up we are at home to Chelsea.

I will keep you posted.

It was weird!! I know about the financial takeover item in the shop but the next one I could buy is 2000 credits i only have 1200!!!
It just appeared as if i bought it but I used one in the 1st season but this just came as random, don't know if anyone else has had it??

Came in handy tho as I was done with the transfers so it funded a few more!
 
Do I have to start a new career mode for the loan stuff to be worked out? At the end of my Liverpool season, all loans seemed to stay as they were into season 2. Sahin never leaves, my loaned players never return, etc?

Or is this still broken no matter if I start a new career mode (with patch)?
 
Someone doesn't read the thread ;) With the initial squad file all loans are set to end in 2014, so if you started a CM with that the loaned out players would eventually return in 2014, but if you started a CM with the new fixed squad file released a couple of days after the game was released the loans were set to end correctly :)

I'm quite happy with the loans not ending straight away but then again knowing that fact I'm not looking forward to 2014 with sahin going back as I do like him but then i'll try and get him out right.(he's worth £25,000,000 on my CM)
Wasn't too bothered with the ones loaned out. There was only 3 from liverpool, carroll(i have recalled) spearing and a 18 yo striker i dont know lol

forgot to mention this ... another very cool, though not entirely realistic situation in the transfer market. so as documented above (with misspellings ), i lost a lot of the creativity in the mid field and at the number 10 position. so, i test the market for erikson from AJAX. value was 12mm, but the team said i could ahve him for 6mm!! and i got him. his form was bad, so that must have been it. not sure how i feel about that realism, but made me feel better about losing wilshere for 19.5MM!!
 
Yep sometimes you can get some good bargains that's why we kept stressing in this thread to enquire about a player before you bid on them, I'm tempted to go for Lacina Traore if I can raise the money, he's currently worth £13m but I enquired and they said I can have him for £9m, shame I'm about £8.5m short right now! Hoping to sell a couple of players in the window and get some extra from the board :)
 
For some reason my CM mode with my Blackburn wouldn't advance to my next match no matter how many times I reloaded, so I decided to abandon it and start afresh with CD Numancia in the Liga Adalente (it's called that right?) and am aiming to get them into the top division and stay there for more than one season, for the first time since the early noughties. My first assessment of their squad was that on the whole it wasn't too bad and there were one or two moderately talented players in there for which I could form the team around, however with a very tight budget of £550,000 it seemed it would be hard to get some quality players to help make a promotion push... for this season anyway.

I have only played the first friendly game but I'm rather bored tonight so I'll update on what's happened so far. Firstly, transfers:

OUT:
A 37 year old CDM who's name escapes me - Released from contract.
Luis Valcarce LM (57) - season loan to Exerez.

I didn't feel as if the CDM was worth keeping as his physical stats were so poor that he would be pretty much useless to me throughout the season and his technical stats where not to my liking. Luis Valcarce was one of 3/4 LM's at the club and with him being only 19, rather than sell him I opted to loan him out to gain some experience.

IN:
Barrio CB (60) - Season loan from Racing Club Santander (with £210,000 purchase option)

Barrio appears to be a solid young CB and at only 19 has lots of time to improve, which is precisely why I loaned him with a view to buy. If significant strides are made within this season acquiring him for £210,000 will be a steal, and if not then I've wasted no money.

I have decided to adopt my usual 3-4-3 formation or 3-4-2-1 however it's meant to be labelled and most of squad appears to provide the type of player that I want for each position. The only place I wasn't happy with was the RCB position, but by getting Barrio on loan this problem has been solved as he fits the requirements that I ask for in that position.

So, onto the first friendly! My CD Numancia side squared off against Santos and despite them taking a 2-0 first half lead the final result was a 2-2 draw, thanks to a brace from my CF Natalio, who looks a very decent player with a good chance of pace and solid technique, however I am concerned his low finishing stat may start to show as the season goes on.

I shall update again at the end of the summer transfer window, if anyone has read this, thank you.
