Just a shame there's still so many things they haven't fixed.

What is annoying is when you start say a new prem or championship season the commentary team refer to it as a cup match instead of a league game.

Things like these should not happen with such a high profile title

Yes, it is not in CM. It is only if you start a tournament. It happen to me as well after starting a Bundesliga tournament.

So many little things and bugs. Really makes you wonder if they ever test their own game longer then 10 minutes.
 
I'm having a problem getting scored on. Maybe it's my league? Playing in the SPL as Celtic, no custom tactics however. So maybe that's it.
The CPU just never seems to create and/or take chances.

Also...dumb question, how can I get the custom tactics onto my xbox? I have no thumb drive, can I burn them?
 
Player manager AI utter crap playing as centre forward on world class and they can barely string pass together yet opposition AI does it great. Dont get it when play exhibition AI plays alright but when comes to manager mode they suck team just dont feel like real life counterparts either. :(
 
Need some help with player growth in CM, anyone got the hang of it yet? Seems hit or miss, quirky, bugged, or maybe I just haven't figured it out yet - today I got an email bitching me out for not playing a player with a lot of potential, but in the player growth screen my assistant coach has no comment about the player.

So which should I do - give time to the player who the email recommends or to the players that are listed as having loads of potential in the player growth screen?

Also, is there a way to see how my players grow? I just got updated that one of my CMs went up 1 OVR but I'd like to know exactly how he improved, is this possible?

Last year there were player potential screens with growth line graphs - are those still around somewhere?

Even if manual player growth was a tad unrealistic to some, at least I knew what the hell was going on with my players!

Any ideas?

Just lost my save data somehow. Had 50% of the VP challenges done, and had just got a few more online.
Stopped playing for a bit. Came back to my box, turned it on, it's acting like I never played.
 
That's so deflating when stuff like that happens. Like when my edited stadiums were wiped twice last year. In the end I just didn't bother. And it looks like I have to delete all my save files now to get my career mode working......great!!

I really enjoyed Clubs last night, amazingly. Playing it a full team with manual isn't really as much of a hinderence as past games I feel; especially when the connection is smooth. We got battered once and that was when Phil's STRIKER VP went in net. :FAIL:

Terrible tekkers.
 
Is there anyway to make the AI shoot every once in a while? If they're not running straight into my keeper during a 1 on 1 they're passing it around in the penalty area for no reason.

World Class / Legendary settings plus some custom formations for the teams in the league you are playing.

Its a chore and it happens every year.

Custom tactics mate.

Unfortunately its like 10 was. So i created custom tactics for different sides but all of them have shooting ramped up to over 90.

The reaso i do that is it makes the cpu hit long shots and generally try and take a chance when they have space. if you have it lower they still try and play a fancy pass even when clear sight of goal.
 
I'm finding it more amusing than annoying that the AI opposition will try the 360 roulette skill at least once a game against me. Amusing because it usually works, too :LOL:

Yeah clear the cache.

Your other updates will only be prompted whenn you play that game again. Once you are sorted with your games and fifa without patch, what i do is disconnect xbox live then load up fifa. Once ive started a match i plug the connection back in, so i can continue to get my chants streamed.

however i dont play online at all so it will probably effect those that do, theyll be prompted to patch again.

I just cant understand the massive negativity though. Ive been reading pes forums, listened to their obviously biased podcast on wenb and the amount of issues people skirt over-bad keepers, poor a.i, poor ball pyhsics just to name a few is staggering when you then read about all the niggles people have about fifa and the amount of moaning and criticism that goes on! Really hypocritical.

I dont trust anyone as far as i can throw them when it comes to pes because theres a weird loyalty thats there much akin to supporting your favourite club, except that this is a computer game and all i want is real honest opinions either way. Unfortunately you dont get that, far too much attachment to the original pes series for people to really man up and say what they think.

Its disappointing.

I honestly didn't notice much of a difference when I cleared my cache to give the "1.0" version a go, though I only tried it at the end of last week and wasn't there a second update (i.e. version 1.2) early last week that made it more similar to 1.0? I find this all pretty damn confusing.

What's suppose to be the big differences anyways?

Don't get why you'd think loyalty to PES is "weird" - PES attempts to stay true to a certain philosophy in how it represents football in a game, and many people find that admirable. I could just as easily say I find it weird that people remain loyal to EA just because of the licenses, but I don't because people want different things.

Sure some PESfans arguably take it too far, to the point seemingly beyond rational reasoning, but the same is true for FIFA - I equally don't trust what the guys say on the WENB and FSB podcasts/blogs. But while PES games (usually) remain true to a philosophy that believes in football fundamentals first and foremost, I don't think any of us really get what FIFA's philosophy is, which is one reason of many why people are quick to trash EA when bugs and core gameplay issues remain unsolved. It only hurts EA more when they can appear more focused on adding new modes and non-gameplay features than making their core gameplay as good as it has the potential to be.

And I'm not sure where you've been but there's been plenty of negativity in the buildup for PES this year, and for many people PES 2011 won't be enough to overcome FIFA as their #1, but I think you over-exaggerate PES's flaws. Keepers can be bad but it's rare; the AI not only isn't poor overall but one of the game's strengths and for offline gamers like myself one of the reasons PES appeals more than FIFA; ball physics are solid overall. Sure there's issues with PES and as a total package it'll never stand up to the behemoth that FIFA has become with all its modes and features, but at its core is where PES shines and for most ardent football fans, that's what matters most. I haven't bought a PES since buying FIFA 08 because these last few years its core gameplay was either poor or not nearly good enough to overcome the games flaws elsewhere, but this year it's a brand new ball game as they say.
