What the hell? Where does that come from? Have you even played the full version of PES 2011? Animations are pretty decent in PES 2011, they are fluid and seem very realistic. Sure they aren't as many and as varied as in Fifa 11 but it really plays a smooth and responsive game.

The player-movements aren't clunky, it just happens that they have some inertia like real players have, in Fifa 10/11 they are too easy to move around and change direction, as there inertia is missing. In comparison PES 2011 might feel clunky but it's really not, it's that Fifa misses something.

The passing in PES 2011 is similar to Fifa's semi-assissted control with power-assistance off, it feels just right.

The fascinating thing is that short passes are more assisted than longer passes and if you want to go manual you can press L2 and it's manual.

The shooting is indeed assisted but not too assisted, you can direct shots high or low, right or left, volley, lob... it could though be a bit more free.

Keepers are actually very good, they are reliable, the only problem with them is that they need more animations to make them look better while making their saves and parries.

AI is very good, the team-AI is way better than in Fifa 11, realistic and varied. The individual's AI is not as aware as in Fifa but in the full game of PES 2011 it's way better than in the demo. The opponent's CPU-AI in attack at top-player is really challenging, much better than in the demo.

PES 2011 is imho the best PES, better than even my beloved PES 5 and definitely a credible alternative to Fifa 11.

I have the Xbox 360 version as soon as i hit advance it would freeze and i had to reset my xbox.
I took off the hardrive and disconnected my internet and it worked fine.
I deleted all my downloaded squad and player data and reset the squads to default and it worked.

Trying to make some players in creation centre and really dissapointed that there aren't more options for the appearances? made Dennis Bergkamp and Henry, but they look nothing like them and there is nothing I can do to make them look like them. Very frustrating!

Better someone who whines about a game they actually play and enjoy to someone who comes here to tell us how EA does not understand football and how Konami understands football fundamentals. Why not play that and shut up then...

But you've still complained about aspects of FIFA, particularly Manager Mode, so I think it's a bit rich to flame people who have genuine complaints for expressing them...

Found these ports in a post on another fifa forum:
TCP: 80, 443, 9980-9989, 10000-10500, 42100-42199
UDP: 3659, 6000, 9570, 10500-12500

Even though its not directly from the manual it might be worth a shot....

The player movements are clucky and there are clearly animations missing. If you zoom in to a step over for example you can see the players foot jump insted of a smooth transation and thats just one example i saw last night

Why not just make a full manual control option rather than having to press 2 buttons

Mate the keepers are awful. Ive seen it on a several occasions where they dive with two hands and the ball just goes through them. Its so frustrating.

Which game do you prefer between FIFA 11 and PES 2011?

From widecam I saw no such things or anything that wasn't smooth as butter. Maybe if I zoomed in and analysed the moves I could spot problems, but for me in actual play I have zero problems with the animation... no comparison to PES 2010.

I agree, there should be an additional option to play it fully manual without pressing L2. But it should be additional cause it's also nice to play semiassisted and when wished for a special pass or whatever to bring in manual with a single button.

That's bad, but for me never anything like that happened, there was never a situation where a goal happened because of the keeper's mistake or because of a bug like that, they parry a bit too much but always out of danger, and they even come out of the box when needed, for me they are very reliable. The only thing is that some of their movements don't look good, they could definitely use some good and more animations.

Which platform do you play the full version of PES 2011 on? For me on xbox360 it plays like a charm, only some bugs like the jog-bug and greenzone-bug need to be ironed out. It would be also nice if the referee would let advantage be played more often, but other than that, it's great.

I've been enjoying it today :LOL: My internet is terrible on Sundays and the reactions were horrible, (even in 1v1 manual matches). Been playing today on my day off and seems a lot better :)

Seems to when you're talking about PES 2011 :) (which is equally flawed by the way, it's just because Fifa has been so disappointing and PES has actually improved very, very slightly).
 
Weird bug.

Changing a player's boots in edit mode lowered that player's overall stats.

Fabio dropped to 72 when I gave him some Nike boots.
Changed Valencia's boots to another pair of adidad preds aand his stats dropped by 1 point.

That happened to me in real life, i swear a pair of Nike's made me shit, either that or i became unfit and too old.... probably the shoes though.

Bit of a guess, but I wonder if their position changed when you saved it. Even if you didn't edit his position specifically, it could still change because of the messed up way they record positions this year (I think it's related to Virtual Pro). If so, that would recalculate the overall based on position.
