Christ Murk and Roma have just raped my excitement for the game once again :D Oh FIFA.

If ever there was time for a revolt. The weakness of EA and this community disgusts me.
 
My copy arrived today from Amazon here in the US, have to say dissapointed. FIfa 10 was in my mind for the first time better than pro evo (previous year or so was splitting hairs), I actually thought world cup was good and an improvement on some of the niggly things that annoyed me on 10. But Fifa 11 is a major step back, what the hell has gone wrong with the ball physics and the weight of passing. Goal keepers have seemingly gotten alot worst - unless they have started using Rob Green as the model for keepers.

Count down till Pro evo comes out then i guess

For all the talk of player runs on FIFA 11, btw, it always feels (on manual) like you have to find a man in space, but never a man who is already running and is going to break through the defence. Not in BAP on manual controls anyway. It's cos there's no difference in acceleration and defenders are so quick to respond to threats that you don't seem to be able to catch them napping with a clever pass. So the situation where attacker and defender are at different speeds when the ball is passed is very rare. The pass inside the fullback for the winger to run onto is nothing like as useful.

When did this patch come out? I was actually starting to enjoy myself but my play session earlier this evening ended in total frustration. A roommate was playing before me and I'm not sure if the patch was there before or if he might have downloaded it. I thought they already had downloaded the patch but now I dunno.

The game def plays faster than the demo but I figured that'd just be them tightening up between codes or something. Didn't this happen last year? I know what you mean about manual passing but I think it's at least better than the demo. And I could've sworn pressure was decreased but this evening it didn't feel that way.

You're absolutely right about sprint/jog speeds - what a waste of analog sprint. I'm shocked that so many on the other forums are finding it useful when there's hardly a difference between min and max speeds. In fact the only player I've enjoyed controlling in the wing position is Lennon, but even then CBs are beating him to loose balls and outpacing him to goal.

Beyond those my biggest gripe of all is the CPU offensive AI - I've had a total of 2(!) decent goals scored on me, both by Torres, in all the matches I've played. The rest have mostly come from PKs from handballs and other bullshit stuff.

Are you a GC Rom? What would you suggest a new patch target specifically?
 
I just went out at 10:30pm to walmart and bought the game even tho i didnt plan on getting it lol played one game felt better then the demo. but then again i was chelsea playing aggainst derby just so i could kick robbie savage.

In regards to pressure, I'm finding it varies greatly depending on what team you play. Just played a game against Villareal and earlier Anderlecht(sp?) and they were like night and day - Villareal gave me all the time I wanted on the ball and Anderlecht had 2 or 3 guys pressing me on goalkicks! I also found Liverpool to be high pressure team while Bolton is not.

I guess that doesn't bode well for online play though.

Yeah, online is still what it's always been. Maybe even a bit worse. After all of the fouls being called against me in the demo, I expected there to be loads called in the online matches but I was just getting raped on the pitch. Players sticking a leg in and getting nothing but the man, and nothing is called.

For those that really enjoy playing offline against the CPU or CM or BAP, maybe there really are some nice touches and upgrades to CPU AI or passing speed, etc. But online, which is really the only place that I was able to get any enjoyment out of FIFA back during 09, it's as bad as it's always been.

Not trying to give EA a hard time, not trying to rant anymore. Just EXTREMELY disappointed. 5 consecutive games of dominating possession, only to lose on finesse shots or Anelka 180 passing the ball between two of my defenders to Essien who proceeds to tap the ball along the ground like we're playing in mud, with the toe of his left foot, and still beat my keeper for a goal, doesn't make me want to play the game.

Simply put, all of the gripes are still very much alive and in some cases, much worse than before.

One more thing about online, either the servers are still retarded or their matchmaking still hasn't been fixed (this must clearly be the case) but searching for 5v5 matches (the only way to make sure that nobody can control the goalie), every game featured the same two guys. Either it's done by region, or the matchmaking is having a hard time matching us up with different players.

I might have been able to get into the game more if we could boot the dickwads that slide on their own players, the other team, score on their own team, etc., but they've gone a step further and actually made it something of a chore to even get a game in the first place. Let alone with your friends on your squad (unless you know like 10 people who all wanna play a private match.

And why must I search for a game with wacked out parameters JUST to get the option to make a game myself (that nobody will ever find :) )?

After starting a career mode as a manager it's certainly growing on me.. Had some pretty intense matches and it doesn't feel so crowded like FIFA 10.. Can certainly take you time & open the game up.. This is on slow btw, only way to play it IMO.. The personalty of certain players is miles better than last years.. Like when I have Arshavin on the ball, the way he moves and runs is really nice.. Definitely a solid game but only time will tell if it continues!!
 
I do agree on the pressure thing they said it was fixed and is not is slightly easier to handle but still a pain in the ass

Personality+ seems to be a pretty cool feature - for the top teams. When playing as less popular teams from the Bundesliga or in the lower tiers, P+ isn't nearly as evident. It's to be expected when you consider the importance of the top teams for online play and EA's history but disappointing nonetheless. At least when playing with lower league teams the matches are much more chill.
 
Sounds like shit to be honest, yeah some people are saying they are enjoying the game which is fair enough, good for them, but judging from a few rants on here people are having the exact same issues which I'd have so my excitement is pretty much gone now. Online is still cheap and offline is still boring so I see very little reason to get this now...

Fully agree. What's funny is that when you leave PES at the main screen and it plays a demo match, it looks REALLY clunky but when you play it it's nothing like that.

I added a bunch to the EPL with entrance music & chants.. If you go to fifasoccerblog.com there is an article on there with over 1000 songs, chants etc..
It's a nice addition that's for sure.. I was 3-1 down to Chelsea & they started chanting some nice Chelsea chants I added.. Takes fuckin ages tho so get some coffee before you start adding them!
 
The final game is faster than the demo? :CONFUSE:

The stupid fast speed was one the most obvious things wrong with demo.

What a bunch of cocks.
 
Well, the last couple of pages have been a bit of a kick in the nuts.

Still, every opinion is different. I'm hoping mine is positive.
 
So for anyone who's having problems accessing the EA forums/profile page I finally managed to find a solution to my problems, firstly it seems their profile server has issues with my DNS (or my DNS has issues with them blah blah)

Open command prompt and type in: nslookup profile.ea.com

If it is ok it'll say something like:

If something is wrong it may look like this:

I had to remove my own ISPs DNS and use the free OpenDNS one instead.

That wasn't the final solution to access their profile page (so I could select a default persona to post on the new forums) I then had to do the following:

) Click start, go to 'All Programs', then 'Accessories', look for 'Command Prompt'.

2) Right-click on Command Prompt, click on 'Run As Administrator', if you get a security prompt, just choose continue or allow.

3) in command prompt, type netsh int tcp set global ecncapability=disabled

Not sure what the setting changes but I can now access the EA profile website ok and set default persona etc. etc. :)
 
I felt so positive after playing the gamerbase demo, was slower even on normal and pressure was much less effective. Demo has ruined all that and sounds like the full game has taken it a step further.
 
Speed is fine.. Put it on slow and it's good.. Turn off passing assistance if your not playing on manual and enjoy.. To many people bitch about everything.. Everyone wants something different so your never gonna win..
Just don't turn on handballs!! Glad they give you the option to use them but there kinda gay..

To be fair, the game hasn't been released yet.

I am still looking forward to it. Been playing clubs the past 2 nights on 10 and it was great for a change. Any improvement in this area Will be good for me.

Speed is still too fast, even on slow. My opinion, although that should go without saying really.

What do the millions do who plays clubs? or cant ever find 1v1 online slow match?

Slow isn't an option there.

Default has to be right or the game is doomed.

If what they say about this patch is true i'm not sure i can put up with another year of pressure fest ping-pong.

I hope all this moaning is gonna lower my expectations and i'm actually surprised when i get it.
 
You don't seem to be able to set the game to Slow in Career Mode either. At least not after you've started a career. Dunno about when starting a game.
