Fifa 11 Xbox 360/PS3

has anyone put the chants entrance music in the game?

yeah i have ive put you'll never walk alone for team entrance at anfield. Ripped it from youtube and its the one with the crowd singing along with jerry and the pacemakers. Always gives me the goose bumps when i go Anfield.

Oh and the game blends it in it doesnt sound like out of place.

Just a heads up for those wanting it from Asda on Friday.

You can pre-order now and they give you a receipt. Then at 1 minute past midnight on thursday you can pick it up, but the price is still unknown. Better to secure your self one as you dont have to pay to preorder, and you dont have to pay for it fullstop if you dont want to pay the price.

The game's so much harder on Professional compared to FIFA 10. I'll admit I'm not a great player anyway but I dominated games and usually won on Pro last year but now I'm finding the play is more balanced and I'm not getting anywhere near as many chances. Hardly had any 1-on-1's either :APPLAUD:

Dags, the word is that Amatuer level on F11 is the same as Pro level on F10. So Pro will be like playing World Class. Might take some getting used to.

You enjoying the game a bit more, now? You weren't too keen a few days ago, IIRC.

Very much so. It's a different kind of football game to PES but it's still enjoyable. If only the damn pitch was bigger :(

But yeah, I stand corrected by completely dismissing FIFA previously and I'm having fun with it at the moment.

My worry is that, just like previous years and since FIFA 08, the flaws will get to me and I'll get fed up with it after the shine has gone and a few months pass. We'll see though.

Yeah I think it could be down to camera angles and viewpoints. I'm pretty sure the pitch is the correct size - surely they wouldn't get a fundamental thing like that wrong... ahem.

Good to hear you're enjoying it mate. Bodes well for folk like me.

But then the players are bigger as well, the ratio stays the same regardless :)

Honestly though, it would play a much better game if they increased the pitch size a bit more and gave players more time on the ball, more space to play the ball into.

It'd be interesting to check dimensions of the pitch on FIFA, distance between players and the touchlines, to see how it does actually resemble real life.

Bit of a pain in the ass signing players as Tranmere. Limited wages and transfer funds so it's really hard to bring in a right midfielder. They either want tons of wages (WAAAY over my average wage) or their transfer fee is too much. No players on a free transfer that are good enough either :(

This is good though, because on FIFA 10 I could pretty much have a whole new team by the time I got to the end of the transfer window due to players being so easy to sign. Definately more of a challenge to get players into your club now.

On the other hand, selling players is easy it seems. I listed 33 year old Paul McLaren and he sold straight away for £500k, and a couple of youngsters went out on loan as well.

So, with better transfers, and injuries, CM is looking better already and I haven't even started a league game yet. Looks like single-player fans will be happy this year for a change :)

Do you know you can change the transfer budget with the wages? You can do this 3 times in a season. If you need more wages maybe you can take some of the transfer funds... ;)

I'm pretty sure the pitch dimensions in FIFA are accurate, as in pitch width vs length vs goalpost/penalty area dimensions - maybe it is the player sizes? They don't look like giants though...

The pitch definitely seems bigger on PES (I'm not criticising, just an observation, don't jump on me for trolling :P).

That's what I mean, the distance between players and the touchlines. Looking at the back four defenders, I'd have thought in real life there would be far more grass between each defender but on FIFA they seem too close.

Not really sure, but I would think it's more to do with better positioning from the AI in PES. I've noticed I have quite a bit of space on the wings, but the centre feels far more congested then FIFA does. While FIFA feels more congested on the wings. If you pass the ball around the back with FIFA and you look at the space between the CB and compare it to PES the pitch doesn't seem different, but more the player positions. I think it's more down to that.

I was happy with the demo and the full game is sounding better

Happy days :)

The main thing for me is the stray passing, i played Fifa 10 last night and there is none of that at all but Fifa 11's demo had quite a bit of it and hopefully the full ones has more :)

The CPU doesn't do much stray passing, their average accuracy is around 80%. Pro Passing on semi means you do a fair bit of stray passing though.

DagsJT have you tested the game using the high pressure tactic, is tackling still to easy?

Not tested that tactic but tackling is still as easy as holding down the X button, yep.

Pro Passing has a huge affect on my game, semi passing is all over the place for me now and it's reminding me of why I don't use manual

Game is still a bit too fast for my liking, even on slow. And I find PES a lot easier to dribble using close control, whereas CC doesn't seem to do much at all on FIFA.

Shots have more fizz about them on FIFA, pretty good feeling when you hit a cracking shot and it flies like an arrow.

Cool boss, i would advise you to keep away from that tactic! I'm sure it's still in and broken and it will kill the game for you, and since you are enjoying it, i would leave it how it is :)

The speed of the ball when passing is pissing me off a bit now. I'm sure I read somewhere on here that they slowed the pace of the ball down, and now it takes an age to get to the other player, meaning there's constant interceptions going on. It's impossible to play a long pass along the ground as it just trickles along.

Thing is, THAT'S THE ONLY reason mainly why people miss passes! Pro passing itself hardly does anything in terms of player or attribute input. All passes are just in general so slow, that the AI with their lighting turning speed just intercept slow passes easily. Just from the demo i didn't seem like any player differed in terms of passing, everyone was just the same!

So this pro passing feeling is just passes actually being underhit!

Whoops  Hope that's not ruined it for you, i think I'll get my coat :COAT:

I noticed in the demo when you press pass there is a power bar now

Just try holding it longer for a harder pass and longer still to skip out the nearest man

It does, but even holding it until it's maxed out, the ball still trickles along. The speed of the ball has definately been turned down.

As an example of how much ping-pong there can be from the constant tackling, I think I've played about 6-7 games so far in CM and Joe Labadie, my defensive midfielder, has never got less than a rating of 9.0 at the end of the match. Everyone else getting 6's or so. The reason why? He made 19/42 tackles in that last match, the player closest to that was a CB who made 7/16 and the other CB made 5/11.

Proof of how much it's a mess when the ball gets into the centre of midfield.
