Fifa 11 Xbox 360/PS3

{snip}

I'm playing the full title now. Better than the demo and you can see Clubs will be more interesting but there are still aspects of it that are fundamentally wrong. Ground passes are a bit faster but still too slow, particularly on manual. At the same time manual passes are still shoddy at distances of 5 or fewer yards, that classic FIFA issue that makes manual passes more effective the further away the target is. Except now you have to use the driven lob for anything over 30 yards.

I for one agree with you, but can't be arsed to defend every little thing in the game that these guys are criticising. Everyone their own opinion I say and all that.

I personally love FIFA this year. When you put all the correct settings on it's the most realistic football game to date!

im with u scorpio.. im just enjoing this game too much to bother coming here and "fighting" all this critisism that doesnt afferct me at all, what matters is what i feel when i play.

Your basicaly trying to put forward your posts as facts. feel free to share your opinion but dont go bragging it as facts

Good that you love it and good luck playing on semi or manual on clubs againts the ping pongers in their.

Its all good having the choice to play manual but absolutely POINTLESS when your up against an assisted ping pong opponent.

I also agree with rob in saying how manual settings basicaly ignores and shuts out players stats i.e. Diaby could place a great ball on manual the same way as xavi can (given the fact that the human playing manual is great at it) so that means all these players are basicaly avaters of the game offering fuck all difference in terms of ability and personality. They just look different to me.

I still cant see why many favour FIFA SP ahead of PES SP but again each to their own but for me and others we prefer deep tactics, player likeness, stat impactness ahead of licences.

TBH the structure of ML is VERY similar to the structure of all teh top divisions for various countries and it also has official champions league and uefa cup competitions that you can play during a season. not to mention realistic transfer deals, tactics, formations, realistic final league standings etc. All make PES A MUCH MUCH better OFFLINE game for me and many others.

i bet MANY here are getting this game purely for online play.

1. Manual leaderboards, means manual ranked matches JM.

2. Playing manual DOES take effect on attributes and traits, Rutter told it himself!

3. Can you manager more than one club in your Master League career? NO? man that's realistic...

4. FIFA also has realistic transfer deals, tactics, formations, realistic final league standings etc. so I really don't understand your last point! Running out of comments?

5. Don't bet your house or you'll be homeless...

Not in club mode

So just because the almighty Rutter says it does, its true?

3. Can you manager more than one club in your Master League career? NO? man that's realistic...

can a player get injured and out for a few weeks? does buying rooney and adding him to leyton orient make a difference?nope. yea thats realistic too :)

So tell me how i can assign xavi as a playmaker,or how i can force messi to be a fox in the box? nope cant do none of that. realistic final league standings? how come everton won the premiership in my MM game on fifa 10?umm

5. Don't bet your house or you'll be homeless...

likewise to you my friend

I still don't get how people come away thinking this - I seem to notice a pretty big difference between passing with Puyol vs passing with Xavi. At least I think I notice a difference! I'll say it again, we really need the devs to comment on this so we can put to bed the debate over whether player stats and P+ influence manual passing, and to what degree. Sure it probably could be better but I'm okay with it at the moment.

Can't speak for others but I'll say for me it's because FIFA can be genius at times. Also, I really believe the game isn't far from being a quality combination of realism and fun. It's not going to be perfect, and probably it'll always lag behind PES in the realism department, but that's okay, it doesn't need to be those things. Besides, haven't we already established that everyone has different preferences and opinions?

Also, you're asking why someone would prefer SP in FIFA vs PES after a few couple "off" years of PES and before we've had time with the full versions of each. I for one have NO IDEA which game I'll end up spending more time with. And that's not a bad thing.

Do you find any differences with first touch or wrong foot issue?

@Jonney

- Rutter hasn't lied once, Marcel Kuhn on the other hand...

- Yes a player can get injured now for several weeks, even months!

- You can't buy Rooney if he doesn't want to come.

- Xavi allready IS a playmaker, and Messi IS a "fox in the box"

- About league standings, you're comparing FIFA 11 Career Mode with FIFA 10 Manager Mode?? Should I begin saying things of PES2010 now...

That i agree... i dont understand the need of plp that didnt cleary like the game in coming here all the time to complain about it....

Hey, i didnt like PES2011, so what? u dont see me coming to the PES threads and complaining about all the aspects that put me off the game every single day, do u?

If all you want to hear are the positives of FIFA, why are you coming to evo-web? The official FIFA forum is overloaded with fanboys where any serious discussion of the games features, both pro and con, is hard to find. That kinda sounds like what you're looking for, no?

Just because I find major flaws in FIFA doesn't mean I don't enjoy it. Likewise with PES. Am I only allowed to comment on what I like? Should we discuss Chicharito's OVR? Or how about whether all of Torres' freckles are in the right place?

Evo-web has changed over the years m8. It was founded to talk and share about ISS/WE but with PES missing it's next gen start a few years back, this part of the forum has grown strong for ppl enjoying FIFA. So it's a poor comment to make sending him to the official kiddy EA forum.

Exactly, and more to the point if you DID do that that I suspect the mods would delete your posts or even ban you for "stirring". The double standards on display here are incredible.

PES fans remind me of religious people, they get offended very easily and believe they have a right to be respected even though their belief system is ridiculous.

Just keep on topic about FIFA 11 Xbox /360/ps3,their are no "double standards" at this site, and less silly rhetoric about either games fans if You dont mind.

Re: Fifa 11 Xbox 360/PS3 (closed for maintenance)

I've taken care of most of the crap going on in here today. Please keep the stupid fanboy wars out of this thread, it's really, really tiresome. You're still welcome to debate both titles, but please do it in a way more respectful and civilized way manner. Thanks, folks.

Ok so you played fifa 11 mm to confirm the above? also, messi is not a fox in the box player IRL, dont you watch or follow football at all?

Bare in mind mate that this is still a PES forum first and foremost. fifa, along with any other games are secondary.

Be thankful that the mods created a separate sub forum for fifa.

Looks like most of my posts have been deleted.

I thought I was being reasonable - giving my opinions, justifying them and making fair comparisons without being biased... Definitely wouldn't consider them "fanboy"ish from a neutral point of view anyway (I read them before pressing submit...).

Oh well, at least some good came of it, with machinaex getting banned - hopefully this thread can have some proper discussions now (that doesn't mean people just saying "this and that is awesome, stop bashing the game"...).

Well, we had to delete "his" ones, so leaving yours would be kinda silly and pointless. Don't enter this kind of debate with a troll if you already know the outcome of it, Rob. It's a waste of time.

How's the pressure and defending? After a couple games playing the demo, I switched to the WC game and was shocked at the difference - pressure was (slightly) less while defending was much more difficult. Still too easy for my tastes, but in the demo I was annoyed with how effective the tackle and teammate press buttons are - any adjustments in the full version?

Still worried about ground passes - the speed difference was also something I noticed immediately when playing the WC game. The driven lob is awesome - maybe the best addition to the game! - but at times I get screwed by the added dexterity needed to use the RB button as a modifier. Sounds like for next year we really need to persuade EA to make it a priority to refine manual ground passes - one for short and one for medium-long.

Looking forward to hear more of your impressions *cough* since I'm hearing from some that it's the greatest football game ever, and from others that it's, well, not much to write about.

You was being reasonable. You a fanboy? Doesnt sound right for a lad who has been gaming on fifa since 08(or earlier) and never touching PES until now?

ahh ok he got banned? Cool ok. cheers for still allowing us to have a bit of debate between the two games. i think over the coming weeks it will be difficult not to discuss the two in either PES or this thread but as long as its done in the right manner we should be good to go

Remember and respect this is Pes site and forum. You should be happy that you can find here FIFA threads.

Look at my join date lons_pl.

I used to devote weeks of my life making option files for everyone on this forum to enjoy ISS/WE/PES more. Don't talk to me about respect as Evo-Web has been a part of my daily life for 8 years now.

PES runs through my vanes but FIFA stolen my heart again this year.

Hey guys, just signed up. I got sick of the rubbish at the EA forums. I am quite confused why the AI doesn't seem to sprint when they are on the ball in the Fifa 11 demo(they only seem to walk and pass until the have a chance to shoot on goal), where as in the Fifa world cup game they sprinted very effectively. Anyone else notice this?

Yes i understand this but sometimes i think you don't have repsect for Pes. Ok it is only game but if you played many years this game you should have some respect for Pes and the best site Evo Web which representing this game. Cheers.

U got me wrong... i never said all i want to hear is positives... but it really gets boring when plp starts bringing the same moaning over and over again, really in the end it becomes trolling ;)

Btw, im fine here at Evo, and ive been here long before u and im very used to how Evo works, so maybe ure the one lost in place no?

Wow, a lot of unessacery trolling of FIFA11 in here and coming mostly from huge PES fans. We get it, you don't like EA or Rutter or Marcel Kuhn. Come on, make it constructive lads it's getting boring. The game isn't even out yet and people are trying to paint the new game into a corner already. Fact is if FIFA10 wasn't so bug-riddled it'd have been fantastic. FIFA11 is around the corner and I for one will be excited to play it first and THEN rate it. That's why i post in a FIFA thread. There will be dissappointments, but you show me the perfect football game and I'll play it. Christ. If the demo sucked so much you guys wouldn't have played it the 100 or so times to come in and complain about it. It must be doing something right.

And you're right, nobody wants to only hear postives but it's been like this for a solid 2months now. It's getting a bit much now. Same points over and over. Scream them at EA, not us. I find it hilarious that you're basically ushered away like a mad man if you so much as utter a word of disobedience against the PES2011 demo but it seems to be open season on FIFA11's demo when it's actually really good demo (just criminally short) with final copy reactions being positive too.

I honestly wouldn't care if this were 3rd October and everyone had settled into a bug-riddled scriptfest but as of now it still has a chance to be great.

Well you picked the perfect day, didn't you? (lol I couldn't resist)

I've gone back to playing the WC game after having enough of the demo, and yes sprint speed is a major difference. For some reason they really toned-down the difference between sprint speed and jog speed, although remember the demo is 6 week old code, so it very well could be adjusted in the final release.

Personally I'd like to see it slightly adjusted as I felt speed was a little undervalued in the demo and I found that too often defenders recovered and caught me from behind after I left them embarrassed by a skill move.

Maybe one of the those (lucky bastards) with the full game can comment?

Cant fucking wait till friday.

So,weheres everybody getting there game from?

I'm getting it on friday in asda/tescos £25 deal.
