Very nice Rooney.

I'll be playing it a matter of minutes I think, will post impressions later.

Have they fixed the colour of the man city home kit?

Can you save the replay during a match and tweak it later on before uploading to easportsworld or do you have to do it there and then?

I always hate this week when a lucky few the game.

Damn you all!

I'm only going to play a couple of matches, since I'm about to leave for the weekend. I'll just do a quick comparision to the demo. Found that Rooney pic in another forum.

Off to play right now. :)

FIFA = Clubs, Friends, Career Mode, Graphics, Kits, Real names, GAMEPLAY, Everything Else...
PES = Robots, Managing only one club in Master league, plain shirts, ugly faces, marble football on a pool table,

Sorry couldn't resist... :PIRATE: :JAY:

Anyone know if they'll release boot updates like they did in the WC game?
Fifa always bang on about licenses but whenever they bring out a game, new boot colours are released, making the game a bit outdated!

Ok, just for you:

About the game:

I played around with Benfica a little, then played a few games with the teams that were in the demo, to make a better comparision.

+ Seems improved over the demo, smoother overall.

+ Barcelona players were changing positions constantly, like they do in real life. It happened in the demo but I think it's even more noticeable now.

+ I played like FIFA10, pressing and running all the time, and at about 60m, Messi, Pedro, Villa and Iniesta (the ones I used the most) were at about 1/2 energy bar. Towards the end of the game I could feel that they were getting slower and slower. Close to 90m and Messi, Pedro and Iniesta had their energy bar almost depleted. I subbed Bojan for Pedro, and oh man, Bojan seemed like Usain Bolt to me.
So, in short, it seems like the game makes you pay for pressing and using turbo all the time a lot more than before. I played with Madrid afterwards, with a more moderate approach to sprinting and pressing, and the players had a lot more energy near the end. (Except for Ronaldo, because I abused him a lot).

+ Shooting is great.

+ I've seen lots of little cool new animations.

- So, the negatives. I purposedly played with Barça vs Leverkusen, because I found that in the demo I had a lot of trouble against them because they could hold off the little Barça players when in possession and barge them off the ball when on defense. That has not changed much. However, I'm finding that as I'm getting better with regular and mid-trigger analog drible, you can avoid incoming players a little better.

- CPU teams still seem to play alike. Sometimes players keep dribbling around in circles, and overdoing skills. João Moutinho had a clear shot on goal against me, but decided to do another roulette and ran into my keeper.

Well, overall, not a huge improvement, but it's certainly better than FIFA10. Wish I could spend the day with the game, and take a few more pics and videos for you guys, but I'm going away for a couple of days with the girlfriend. I'd take the 360 with me, but I treasure my life a lot more than FIFA11. :)

Agree with everything Jonney said, they are the main reasons I never even played more than a season on FIFA 08, 09 or 10's career mode... I would sign a bunch of players in the first transfer window, expect my team to be completely different... It was exactly the fucking same...

Isn't that kind of the point of MM/Career mode? To build a team that plays football the way you want? With that not being possible you may as well just play in League mode, at least that doesn't have bugs, does it?

With Personality+ being a non-existant gimmick, it will most likely be the same in 11...

While I couldn't agree more, my problem with PES right now is that FIFA feels like hi-def and PES standard-def. Yeah that's a very basic comparison, and of course you can always say "it's what you're watching that counts" but I think anyone who's played enough of both knows what I'm talking about.

I've really enjoyed my time with the PES demo, and there's still a good possibility that PES's advantages over FIFA will win in the end for me, especially ML, real team strategies and individuality, better and more varied game pacing, etc., but at the moment I can't help but feel when playing the PES demo that I'm playing a game from a few years ago, while some of the programming errors in the game are simply, imo, inexcusable.

im sorry but i played afew games of pes demo last night and then fifa 11 demo after. im not sure how ANYONE can even CONTEMPLATE playing pes over fifa this year. it was like going through some kind of time warp, pes from a technical point of view is simply archaic. the new panning camera is an insult, you can't even switch to a traditional broadcast cam. the ONLY positive to pes is that the game speed, momentum and inertia of players is much more realistic but its not enough to make up for the sub-standard gameplay in general. the pes passing system is basically just fifa semi, its still too assisted. the graphics in pes are SHOCKING, fifa is in a league of it's own, the players in PES look like a bunch of liefless cardboard cutouts running about.

yes there is a lot of flaws in fifa still but its the first time ive seen a game that feels as organic and has as much depth as PES5..and thats only from playing against the annoying CPU..i can imagine full manual matches against like minded people are going to be immense.

I felt the same after only a few games with the PES demo. Play 20-30 matches, then you'll probably think a little differently. Maybe you'll still consider it poor, but maybe you'll come to enjoy like many of us what PES offers this year. PES is not nearly as accessible as FIFA, which is both good and bad - bad because some, like yourself, will dismiss it too quickly, but good because it's the game's depth and complexity that we love which unfortunately makes it less accessible.

The camera is not great in the PES demo but you'll have a variety of options in the full release, so no worries there. I agree with the passing still being a bit too assisted, and being a manual control player in FIFA, this has been one of my biggest issues to overcome. However, once you become used to it, I must say passing in PES is a joy and in the end "feels" better than in FIFA (though if pass velocity has increased in the final version of FIFA, I'll probably still prefer FIFA's manual passing).

Graphics, well, to each's own. Some have said the graphics in the PES demo were compressed and aren't representative of the final build's quality, but I've yet to see that confirmed. People who've played both the PC version and a console version of the demo have said the PC graphics are much better, for what that's worth. Many, myself included, actually prefer PES player models and lighting, so graphics isn't much an issue. FIFA obviously has the massive edge in animations, and its new player face technology is fantastic.

Your opinions are similar to my own and others after only a handful of games with the PES demo, and many including myself have grown to thoroughly enjoy PES with time. Like I said, give it a proper 20-30 matches. I don't think many people will argue that PES isn't still a couple years behind FIFA as a total package, but what PES gets right are for many of us the most important aspects of a football game. Will it be enough to overcome it's shortcomings? I don't even know the answer for myself, but I suggest anyone give the game a lengthy try before dismissing it.

Yep, agree with mfmaxpower. Play 10-15 games and you'll see why people like PES. It grows on you. Even though there are a lot of flaws that make the whole gameplay experience degraded, like passing being assisted, AI not making runs, and goalies being complete crap at times. Also graphics wise it's weird, from certain angles faces look real, from others they look like they were just cut out of the cardboard. The lighting in PES is great. Overall I feel like PES needs another year or two to surpass FIFA, but it's gotten very close and I think I'll be playing it a lot this year. On PC ONLY though, on PS3 the graphics are complete shite and I cant even stand to look at the picture. Plus on PC you have mod capability, so that's another major plus.

I'm sorry for upsetting the apple cart with opinions you find displeasing.

For a forum supposedly comprised of rational free thinkers the alarmist, reactionary way in which people are writing FIFA off and declaring PES 2011 as the second coming of Christ makes me cringe, I am not afraid to share a contrary opinion no matter how butthurt people get as a result.

No offence mate, but half of this thread is just full of these crappy arguments about why PES is better than FIFA and vice versa.

Rob and others are of the opinion that FIFA is crap, nonrealistic, whatever, which is fine, they can go and enjoy PES if thats their cup of tea.

A lot of us here are looking forward to FIFA and love the demo and cant wait to get our hands on the game.

I wish there were another thread for these arguments then I could actually read things about FIFA rather than bickering.

Spot on, this ends here and now. So all please move back on topic (which is FIFA only, btw) and stop this endless, stupid discussion in here. All it does is annoying the mods and admins and tons of users who couldn't care less. If you still feel the urgent need to fight one another, use PM.

Great post.

Rob and Machinesex, you both have opposing views and no one will change stance. Why does it have to always get so heated and why do people always have to say that because they think 1 game is more realistic than the other, its fact. ITS NOT.

 END IT HERE. Continue when you feel like you can discuss without hiding sharp digs within your words.

edit- DAMN YOU TOM!

Your basicaly trying to put forward your posts as facts. feel free to share your opinion but dont go bragging it as facts

I for one agree with you, but can't be arsed to defend every little thing in the game that these guys are criticising. Everyone their own opinion I say and all that.

I personally love FIFA this year. When you put all the correct settings on it's the most realistic football game to date!

Good that you love it and good luck playing on semi or manual on clubs againts the ping pongers in their.

Its all good having the choice to play manual but absolutely POINTLESS when your up against an assisted ping pong opponent.

I also agree with rob in saying how manual settings basicaly ignores and shuts out players stats i.e. Diaby could place a great ball on manual the same way as xavi can (given the fact that the human playing manual is great at it) so that means all these players are basicaly avaters of the game offering fuck all difference in terms of ability and personality. They just look different to me.

I still cant see why many favour FIFA SP ahead of PES SP but again each to their own but for me and others we prefer deep tactics, player likeness, stat impactness ahead of licences.

TBH the structure of ML is VERY similar to the structure of all teh top divisions for various countries and it also has official champions league and uefa cup competitions that you can play during a season. not to mention realistic transfer deals, tactics, formations, realistic final league standings etc. All make PES A MUCH MUCH better OFFLINE game for me and many others.

i bet MANY here are getting this game purely for online play.

I just want to say that even though FIFA disappoints and pisses the hell out of me in many respects, I'm still excited for FIFA 11. Go figure.

Also, I wouldn't be so hard on the game if I didn't see such great potential. It don't spend time discussing the game because I hate it - that'd just be pathetic (at least more pathetic). I could sit here a list off all the great things about FIFA, but not only is that not going to do anything to improve the game, it's also not that much fun!

I expect one reason these debates are so frequent and heated at the moment is because we're at release time. Also, this being a pro-PES forum, with PES greatly improved it's only natural that the hardcore get a little more bold. It does get extremely tiring hearing this game or that game is better because in truth what's better for me isn't necessarily better for you. Good times.
