Fifa 11 Xbox 360/PS3

dilema dilema dilema. should i get this on 360 or ps3? lads, over to you

I have the WC game for both and there's very little difference, so like Rob said, go with whichever your friends play. Two differences I have noticed, though neither are major, are with replays and the menus. With replays, the ps3 actually gives you longer ones, I suppose because of its built-in harddrive capacity(?), which is nice for being able to scroll back and enjoy a nice buildup play. I miss this in FIFA at times. With menus, I believe the ps3 moves between menus and loads slightly quicker. Not positive though.

Or you could be like me and if you end up liking it... get if for both!

Totally unnecessary.

He's entitled to his opinion and if you're not wanting to hear others' opinions, it may be you that this isn't the place for you. If all you want to hear is how amazing EA and FIFA are, then the official forums may be more to your tastes.

Oh yeah, forgot about the replays being longer - you can actually rewatch the whole match! It's a nice feature, but only really useful if you play single player/offline multiplayer.

No need to get redundant though. We know the negatives. We've gone on and on about them. FIFA is an online game. It has always been this way.

To be fair though he was just giving his opinion to jonney.

EDIT: Let's just all hug and get back on topic :)

I've found that turning the auto switching off (or to manual, can't remember the exact description) makes this game a lot more enjoyable. So much more freedom with high balls. you can really attack a header and score some good goals with it.

Still not sure which game to go for this year though.....help!!

Some of the non-English reviews are not lifting my hopes. The game is getting high numbers but some of the details are ominous. This website (http://www.meristation.com/v3/des_analisis.php?pic=GEN&id=cw4c9be31bc8b79&idj=cw4c0e80fcdd4b9#), which has given PES 2011 a lower score, rates FIFA 11 a 9/10.

But how in the world does it get a 9/10 when it says this in the review:

"We believe that the battle for possesion system can be better, we still se players that get pushed off the ball waay to easy, we consider that the effectof the "pushing" should be reduced."

"Defending is overpowered, we felt that, with the easy pushign of the ball an the so easy standing tackle, is waaaay too easy to defend, also, our defender controller by the AI are waay too good, so defending doesn't require much skill at all, it is almost automatic and we easily abused, also the pressure is intense. Cobine the high pressure, easy tackles and pushing and adversary easily and the result are less realism of the game."

"So, can you still score goals? of course you do, but it is too hard and less fun, actually it doesn't feel real on the higuer difficulties. We are talking about HUman vs CPU here, these ponint are less present on HUman vs Human matches thankfully."

"Fifa 11 has a flaw that most of the fifa games have, the feeling that you are always playing against the same team, same attack and defense patterns, same movements on the offensive, this makes that the best way to play is counter attacking."

"With this current presentation, fifa 11 will only give a new feeling to the most harcore or fans of the saga"

That and it gets a 9/10? That sounds horrible! Basically, everything I hated in the demo is still there in the final version. Players get pushed off the ball too easily, defending is overpowered and takes no skill, scoring is too hard and less fun, the game doesn't feel real on higher difficulty levels, and playing against the CPU feels the same no matter the team!

And that's a 9/10 football game?

Hmm, well what was that game I was playing back before online gaming even existed on consoles? Wow, are you that young or am I that old?!

I kind of prefer the controller on the 360 plus the game looks miles better on my pc monitor as i get proper true HD support via the vga cable whilst on the ps3 it looks utter crap like a PS2 game.

i have lived with it for a very long time in fifa 9 and 10. The thing is all my mates and people i know from forums all play the ps3 version and i even setup an active clubs/bap team from fifa 09 and we have over 30 active members who play bap almost daily since day 1 of when fifa 09 first came out.

I have tried to join in and play with the evo web guys but their doesnt seem a strong base of a club or such anymore plus i miss the leagues and tournaments that chris bauer/jack bauer/chirs david use to setup for all of us to play back in fifa 08 days.

Another thing is that their are soooo many different leagues setup in avf for ps3 its awsome and very active. avf runs 3 different leagues with tournaments and all that inbetween so a very healthy dose of people who play this game fair without exploits to choose from.

Also most of my real life mates play on ps3 now, well the hardcore footy mates do whilst i got a few on the 360 that only plays this game for a few months before getting bored of it. infact one of my mates is happy to stick with fifa 10 as he said their aint much difference in 11 lol.

So in a nutshell, 360 version for me offers better controls and better graphics while the ps3 offers better online support...

That's sick. Manager mode with Napoli back to glory days, here I come. ;)

p.s. I heard a lot of shops in Italy are selling the game already. Many people in Rome have it already apparently.

Weird since the American release date is the closest one anyway with it being Sept 28th for those us here, on Tuesday. Yet some people in Europe are selling it a week early!

Dave797 from fsb just posted on twitter that he had an in-game injury with Rooney in Career Mode!
That's all I needed to know! :D

im banging my head over on the pes forum..people dont want to listen to facts after me playing the full game

Still robotic but better
Manual is hit and miss
I really dont think the visuals are better than FIFA although everyone disagrees
Touchline bug seems to be in the final version
Rostas not up to date
Collision detection on fouls - peoples feet actually go through each others now instaed of the gap in the demo
Atmosphere abasoutely shocking

there are some moments of genius in the game though..it just feels boring

i play FIFA full manual. In PES you have to hold down a trigger to do it. Sometimes it seems to still feel assissted. Is there a way you can just turn on manual like FIFA

So it is still an online game as playing vs CPU gets boring quick! Seriously debating on buying it this year, may not even get PES either and instead just go with NBA 2K11.
