Fifa 11 Xbox 360/PS3

Momo Sissoko just smashed in a rocket from 25 yards against me, and I've seen the AI try it on other occasions as well. Just hope they'll tweak the AI before final release as I'm getting really tired of players like Gonalons and Mikel doing 360 spins in midfield all the time.

Yeh the 360 spin to beat the last man is overused for sure. I can stop it easier when a crap dribler tries it though. They tend to lose control of the ball easier.

EA say they're going to update the tricks regularly. They can tweak without patching now so there's no excuse. Not too worried about tricks and implimentation of them though. EA seem well aware of the issue. It's even been toned down since the Guilford build before that.

lol it's there m8 trust me. If you play on world class i'm shocked that Leverkusen's Rofles hasn't shot against you like that yet. Also a lot depends on how their custom tactics (that you can't adjust in the demo) is set up. Some will have it set so they have lots of shots outside the box, others will have it set so as they go down the wing and put lots of crosses in the box.

I hope EA have actually assigned different custom tactics for every team this year. Last year was plain lazy on their part. None of the 2nd tier divisions had their cutstom tactics set at all. What's the point in the feature if they don't even use it themselves?

I'm playing on Legendary (usually all manual) and 90 percent of my games end 0-0, with the CPU rarely having a single shot on target (part of that is 'cause the AI's aim is rubbish atm). The majority of AI goals have been from headers. Defending is way over powered and far too easy - I rarely create quality scoring opportunities myself while getting the ball from the AI is laughingly simple. (Although I have been burnt a few times by skill moves, which has been great!)

Yeah, they gotta tone down the moves a bit. Don't mind it much in the middle of the pitch and when appropriate in the final third, but can't count how many times the CPU has wasted a great scoring opportunity to do a spin move - show off!

Gonna do a mini write-up about both games in a bit.

here's some examples of P+ that made me say "whoa":

Arshavin takes on 3:

Carlos Vela's turning circle vs Nicolas Bendtnar's:

Messi's cut:

You can definitely pull of some very realistic actions with players. Just saw Carlos Vela slam one back post with his left foot. It looked so good. And the celebrations for late goals are awesome. The players run off kinda hunched and determinted towards the crowd. So good.

I can't do any of those moves. People just barge me off the ball...

What can I say? The CPU bangs them in against me if I mess up on World Class or legendary. It's mostly 0-0's cause it's a 3minute demo. I'm very happy about that. Atleast the scores will be low for the final game amongst top teams (asall the teams in this demo are).

...my advice? Don't steam into players wit the run button. Turn last minute and accelerate out of the challenge. Sharp movements with the left stick can beat pressuring this year. Fabregas and Arshavin are pretty good at it. If you cut the stick away from the defender with messi you start seein some crazy stuff. If you combine this with slow dribble and analogue sprinting then you can see the oppertunities build. It's similar to PES's dribbling actually where contextually you'll see a move pulled off sometimes if you've moved the stick in a certain way. It's actually quite hard to beat a guy in real life so i hope they keep it at this level of difficulty.

I've noticed that most of the pressuring is done by agressive CDM's btw. Essien, Sissoko, Mikel. Stay AWAY from them and you should fair a lot better. The rest can't rip the ball off you so well.

Maybe we just suck. Seriously, IMO the difficulty levels are unbalanced - if I drop it down to Pro then I score in more realistic numbers but the CPU never will score, while if I'm at Legendary, the CPU sometimes will score (still rarely) but I'll rarely score.

World Class used to be just about right for me, but since FIFA 10 I can't find that sweat spot and it's only worse with the demo. Maybe I'm just getting too old for this lalala!

Yeah I agree, it's not that it's difficult to defend but it just looks silly. One thing made me smile though, I was playing against Real Madrid, and Higuan skinned my last defender with a fantastic piece skill (not a 360 spin) and finished it off superbly, really made me smile. So refreshing after all those conceded goals from scripted crosses in FIFA 10.

Happy to hear about EA being able to make quick tweaks, very reassuring.

guys have u notice this kind of shots:
http://www.easportsfootball.co.uk/media/play/video/36127674

Looks very weird and week.. i noticed some in the arena too... its like if the ball was glued to the grass. I hope they fix this in the full game

This is what I keep banging on about. It's just not possible to blast the ball across the goalie into the far corner across the ground from inside the box.
There seems to be different mechanics from shooting inside the box than outside.

Been trying this tonight, seems to be a little better in getting round people. Demo is just far too short to create anything, (especially playing fully manual). Thanks for your tips though :) Taken on board.

I feel the same way, except I don't have the age excuse :(

Another thing Stu. If you have Ronaldo and the CPU is charging in at you flick the right stick in the direction of space. Even at an angle. Ronaldo does his custom run animation while knocking the ball ahead of him. A lot of the speedsters can do this (eg. theo walcott). I think you can tap that stick every other stride to gain distance between you and the defence. EA REALLY need a dribbling guide. Like, REALLY. lol

I agree, the demo is so short that i've had to play over and over again to spot all of these things. The PES demo is better for length but it's KILLING ME to reload the game after every match cause of that insanely long and unskippable movie lol Great game though.

The faces in this game are amazing, and I'm really impressed that even some of the younger, lesser known players at chelsea have got their real faces (Bruma, Kakuta, Borini, Hutchinson).

Yeah, the faces that get the good treatment are really nice, some are uncanny even.

Some faces, like Sergio Busquets, are horrible though. Also, Higuain still has long hair and Maxwell shouldn't be blonde. You'd think the top teams would be accurate. Also, Sergio Canales I don't think had an accurate face either.

Remember it is demo. Hopefully a squad update could fix things like that. I want Songs hair :)

Yeah, van der Vaart needs a face lift, too. It's awful.

The Generic faces in Fifa need a huge upgrade, pointless going to all that effort with the new faces only for the old ones to stick out like a sore thumb, which they do!

Also, how haven't they fixed the injury bug? Where it shows the wrong player rolling about on the floor? I mean seriously, how can you miss that in 2 games?!

The problem I'm having is the 3 minute halves. Why oh why? I actually wonder if they do that so you don't find any bugs with prolonged play. Makes little sense, mind, as you'll find them eventually.

Anyway, yeah.

The full game is going to be superb, IMO. I just hope, and I'm pretty confident, that Career Mode is a winner.

Turns our the halves are actually 2 minutes as someone timed them?

Seeing as you're quite the friend with Rutter on Twitter since the demo release ( ;) ) then maybe you can ask him who's idea it was to do such short halves, and why?

I'd ask but he probably wont reply to me, or most other people.

We'd just get some flippant/contrived answer, I agree it's complete and utter shite but I try to save my Twitter stalkings to more serious complaints, I'm refining my "What the fuck have you done to CM it's all buggy and shallow and crap again and there's no long term injuries" complaints as we speak ;)

Well, let's hope you never have to unleash that one.

There is absolutely no point in having the such short halves, especially as you can just play another match immediately afterwards...
