Fifa 11 Xbox 360/PS3

David Rutters feedback on pro passing is great then ;

@Xaor If you want even more pro passing you can always try manual :)

Posted on Twitter. So I guess that's Ea's answer.

I always knew when I created started making the petition that if it went well and it's gone better than I expected with the community, that it would end up with EA either making utter twats of themselves or doing something. It's got to the point where a lot of people will be seriously upset if EA neglect this. It's not a huge financial threat, but I really don't think they want to lose what they've built over the last few years - with replies like that from Rutter you wonder if they realise what they stand to lose.

Look at it this way - we're going to find out EA's intentions, one way or another. What I really want to know is what Gary thinks - if he even know sthat the petition exists (I no longer know of any way to contact him post-forum change.)

The thought of going back to some pretend teams I have no affinity for in some pretend league that has little depth in terms of cup competitions/promotions and relegations/hiring and firing fills me with utter dread, to be honest Fifa would have to become really, really shit and PES really, really good before I could ever give up my Fifa career mode gaming for PES ML mode gaming.

I can't even browse the new forums they're so slow, and I can't figure out how to turn off signatures which means I can't browse the forums anyways because posters there have a habit of putting their team's scores in their sigs which spoils matches I'm yet to watch (I download and watch every prem fixture).

Another video showing absolutely nothing different to the WC game. We'll see for ourselves tonight, but I'm expecting nothing right now. EA has done everything wrong this year.

nah, that commentary is worse than any of the last ones. horrible.
Really? Sebastian Hellmann and Tom Bayer was the most horrible duo,
I ever heard in a game imo ;)
But for me it doesn't matter, I will use english commentary anyway.

I agree with you that it sounds weird, I just mean that Manni and Buschy
are better commentaries, even though it's not well adjusted by EA.

I feel exactly the same m8, very interested in the new CM that FIFA has to offer allthough I know the PES ML has a lot more depth to it. I just can't bring myself going back to PES because of it's improved gameplay. IMO FIFA's gameplay still has more to offer than PES.

That being said I truly hope Konami keeps making PES better and better every year so that EA don't get lazy and keep pushing their own game to the limit.

Obviously there is only so much they can implement pro passing while in assisted. People here talk about wanting freedom of play, but that concept goes against assisted.. if you have the computer assist you, then obviously that freedom is not really there.
I think some guys really overreact to everything EA says or does. Assisted gaming can never be freedom, because you have the AI trying to determine what it is you were trying to do, in manual you fully control what you are doing.
The big issue with online the last couple of years, was the huge disadvantage that you were in playing against assisted players, when using semi or manual, specially when the assisted player was full pressure all the time, if they fix that huge gap were playing against assisted players does not feel unfair, then online could be fun. They also added manual leaderboards so hopefully that will get people playing more manual and easier to find games.

I just don't understand the people that say they want more freedom, but then play fully assisted, you are contradicting yourself. And you can pass the ball around just fine in midfield and create and play slower if you want to using assisted in WC.

Also I am gonna guess the huge majority here have not played the demo yet, so is a little early to jump into the abyss. Making up your mind before playing the game?

PES is just an OF away from not having real teams. I personally don't really see the problem with fantasy leagues either if the fundamental experience with those fantasy leagues is a lot more complete and in depth. Different strokes for different folks though.

My point about the tweet was more that Rutter was more likely to have just speed read Rod's post and then given a stock answer he thought was sufficient rather than a considered, final answer on the matter. Saying that the subject is dead on the basis of that tweet, as seemed to be implied by those people I was responding to, was very premature. It's EA's "don't hold it like that" moment.

There is something I don't get: People are complaining because of the assissted passing that would be exploited online... but isn't there an option in the online-mode so that you can set up the terms of the online-match, including what controller-setting should be used?

We should boycott this fucking game. That's it.
The demo will have to be amazing for me to buy the game...

I will be trying out all the twat tactics like ping-pong passing, pressuring, looking for sweet spots/glitches etc. and if just one of them exists/is too effective, I won't be wasting my money...

Oh, and that tweet from Rutter is an absolute joke, what a cunt he is.

That's why I'm most interested in with his demo. I'm going to try all the usual cheap tactics and pay, if it works! Why am i going to take this game seriously if there's another game with practically ZERO exploits!

Same here, I'll give it a proper go but I'm not getting my hopes up. Who knows, might turn out to be a positive surprise after all. I really wouldn't mind if FIFA turns out to be the better game gameplay-wise because of all the licenses and lower leagues but if I don't like it I'll gladly buy PES and download an Option File with the Championship teams added. For me player individuality and Pro Passing will make the difference.

From that point of view it's a terrible shame there's no lesser team in the demo like last year.

Amen.

I dont think you need the official Premier League logo to convince you that's where you are. The teams within, their individual players combined with their own individual formations and playing styles is more than enough. Add the unique chants for each team, kits via an option file, the official CL, Europa and Super Cup, and trust me, you know exactly where you are, fantasy or not. :)

I honestly dont know the answer to this, but what happens on the MM when you qualify for the Champions League ? ( And I dont mean the game crashes )

Is that fantasy ?

Agree but I used to hate the fact I am stuck with one club for the duration. No option to change clubs is crazy!!

The offline mode will only be good for me if the opposition feels different and not the same no matter who u play.

You play the full Champions league with correct layouts Jimmy or Europa, just the names not there...

I may not be right, but David Rutter does not look like a man who plays football at any level. i mean the man just doesn't talk football imo he just does his David Brent office speak. They have thier formula and they seem to get pissed of if we question them. As i said i may be wrong about his playing career but i'm sure he's a twat!

The problem I have with Fifa is the fact that it doesnt matter which player has control of the ball, it looks as if its stuck to there foot unless there sprinting.. Even Ronaldo & Messi cant do a 360 turn in .1 of a second..
EA need to make the stats actually mean something..
If im controlling a player with very average stats, he shouldn't be able to dribble like hes a world class player.. Theirs just not enough individuality and although Fifa has been the better game over the last few years, "the others game" has always had this aspect..
They sort that out and they may nail it..

Yea this year they actually included separate leaderboards for manual
