Fifa 11 Xbox 360/PS3

That does sound a bit worrying. But unlike in FIFA, does those manual passes feel like they have stat based error? I'm not really question you, but could it maybe be at least sometimes that the ball doesn't go where you aim because of this? I'm just thinking because we manual players are so used to having the ball go exactly where we aim, which isn't very realistic, that it could feel that error in a manual system would feel like it snaps to rails when it doesn't go where we aim.

Well, it MAY be down to attributes, but it felt odd for all barcelona player, so I don't really now. What it's for sure is that the feeling is odd and doesn't feel as full manual in Fifa plus 10º of bias error, to say something.

Rom, what do you have to say about this? You're feeling that too?

Cant speak for PES, Gab but Fifa 11 definitely has stat based error on manual (it 'assists you as well as hinders you). You'll see in the demo next week as thats the version i played.

At the moment i see alot of people comparing PES 2011 (maybe cos the demo is out) to Fifa 10. Not Fifa 11.

So much has been sorted that was wrong with 10 i think alot will be surprised how good it plays when they get the demo.

As most who have played the Fifa 11 demo have said, if they have sorted a bit of the AI defending and added directional error to ping pong passing, it'll be by far the best game out there.

I can't find fun when i see in geme(FIFA)scripted, scripted and scripted.Everything looks and feel the same. This is football? Never.

I see scripted passing in pes11demo and what ?
At this moment only several people played in demo and mainly they are fanboy so we need to wait for official pes11 demo release and check how it works.I remember big hype before pes10 release and now we have very similar things. For me pes11 looks and feel like pes2010+

I'm sorry my friend, but you are talking nonsense...Most on here are striving for a realistic football game. Your critiscing a game by saying its "showy and boring" and "players run like athletes" when they are athletes. Sorry what?

Do you know what really pisses me off and bugs me to no end? Fully grown men who have an affinity to a game, regardless of being Fifa or Pes. I gotta be honest, I see it most with people who like PES, they just won't budge and acknowledge on how Fifa has developed into the best football game. PES used to be incredible, we all loved it. They changed the forumla and Fifa learnt there lessons. Dryzer has it right by saying Konami are being applauded because they have done a complete overhaul, yet EA are being condemned for little tweaks. I bet there is alot of people here who wish PES 5 was tweaked every year and nothing more.

p.s The goalkeepers in Fifa 10 were superhuman..I had the feeling too that I knew i wouldnt score when i shot. They changed that in the World Cup game..Alot more human like.

Thanks. Well said.

I also used to like PES 5 & 6 but after that all the other PES's were rubbish.
I heard FIFA 08 was good and I switched to that. It's been the better game and that's what I will play.

You know what's even funny to the point of annoying? I heard Adam (the biggest PES fanboy) praising PES11 saying it plays just like FIFA mate. But guess what, he always slated FIFA for playing like FIFA. Now suddenly PES11 is good because it plays just like FIFA.

Sorry but this is just silly: improved "lovely nice feeling" controls with quick response times that allow for complete freedom of movement (within the laws of physics)

That's the whole point. It's not freedom of movement within the laws of physics. It's just an extremely fluid game. I'm not saying freedom is bad at all. Just needs to contextual. What we have been discussion is the problem where in the new FIFA games there a far too many quick movement which defy physic laws :)

PES now gives you that freedom of movement within physics laws which FIFA dosen't. I understand people who watch the videos disregard PES 2011 in animations because even though it's very good, it dosen't look as aesthetic smooth as FIFA. Playing it you will see the points I'm talking about hopefully.

The way everyone is acting is making me think that FIFA was the best game out there because for the majority of people there was no other game out there. PES next-gen was so broken there actually was no alternative.

Now PES is at least playable people are jumping ship! Im still extremely keen for a 3rd party to enter the football gaming race. Would love to see the makers of MLB the show (SECA) make a football game.

Last year would have been the prime time as FIFA was the only competition, now PES is starting to beef up it would have 2 real competitors.

Why not like and/or buy both games? I have always been a pes fan, but stopped buying it after pes2008. I continued to play pes6 with lots of patches and the patch switcher.

Couldn't resist fifa WC this year and was pleasantly surprised. The animations in fifa look really good (something that has irritated me with the pes next gen versions) and i like how the game plays. Not so rigid/robitic as pes does.

I do have a lot of trouble with the high pressure in the midfield, i'm simply too slow in my reactions to do something creative and end up losing the ball.

The new pes seems a lot better then the old versions, but still looks a bit stiff.
Anyway, i'll be getting both demos next week and see what i like.
If its pes then it's the pc version all the way. I love the mods that are created!

Hmm i dont think i fully understand your point? In Fifa 10 on manual i can put teh ball where i want 9 times out of 10 from constant practice. It doesnt always come off, sometimes its too short or too long or a little off accuracy wise but i can spray a ball wide if i want to and thats not even the latest version.

Im trying not to get into a Fifa/pes debate just trying to understand why people are saying Pes 11 excels in things that i think are already in Fifa 10 anyway when you play full manual?

The only realism in PES is it has 22 men kicking a ball about nothing more, don't know how you find that to be fun.

Come on, you're embarrassing yourself now.

Drek, I don't think PES needs FIFA's ball physics unless you mean the deflection tech. The shots in particular feel awesome.

I agree that the manual passing isn't 100% manual but it is still extremely useful. I've hit some cracking 50, 60 yard long passes so far.

As for the animations, yes they're far behind FIFA for smoothness or believability (as a whole). For me animations are only part of the gameplay up to a point, beyond which it starts to become an embellishment or an extravagance, and PES certainly reaches that point - or is close enough for the game not to be significantly let down by it. I'd say the vast majority of people's problems with rigidity come down to them needing to learn how to play a new game, not that the game in it's current form is robotic or stiff PES 2010 style.

Bottom line is the animations are functional, the responsiveness is high enough for you to improvise and swashbuckle as in PES's of old, and that means that rather than fighting the controls (which will still be how it feels for most FIFA players until a good couple of days' play) you can start to focus on the tactical side of the game.

I'd actually say that the MLO beta was probably the best way for me to learn about the individuality and strategy even if it was something of a baptism of fire. It was galling to see that it wasn't an HD PES 5/6 and that a lot of the dribbling ability I used to have was made redundant, as it meant I was playing like a noob for a good while but after a few days of screaming bloody murder at the screen it started to click. Upgrading from shite players to bad players to decent players to good to very good helped me understand the difference between each player card and the significance of attack minded fullbacks compared to converted CB's. You won't get this so much from the demo as from ML or MLO but it's all there.

Nop, Konami is embarrasing themselves by the quality, or lack thereof of football games they produce.

You like PES? Great
I don't PES, great!
No, seriously, you are embarrassing yourself...

I have no problem with you rating animations over tactical depth etc. but some of the comments you've made only make you look biased and discredit anything you have to say...

Jeez, I love PES then.

I do enjoy the way that some seem to believe that, as soon as PES reenters the building in a metaphorical sense it suddenly once again has the monopoly of simulation over an arcade game, especially given that most of the people saying it haven't even got close to playing FIFA 11!

We're only a few hours away from being back in 2006 for God's sake. I've been watching streams all night and whilst I'm impressed, and intrigued, and excited to play it - it's hardly got everything right.

And yet they're on topic as this is the Fifa11 thread in the Fifa forum.......

Thanks Placebo...

Like seriously I don't understand why people get so mad if someone dares not to like or refuse to play PES.

Dare to sing praises for FIFA in a FIFA forum then you embarass yourselves.

Why don't you all PES lovers go and embarrass yourself in the PES forums side of things and leave us to embarrass ourselves about the animations side of things as opposed to 'tactical depth' thank you.

A lot of the "PES Lovers" have been on the Fifa forums a lot longer and contributed a lot more than you have.

Anyway, this is getting silly now, compare the 2 games if you have to, but at least be constructive.

I've lost count of the amount of times i've said. (I've been playing manual since 08.

I mean, i feel i need to put this into my signature so people get the point.

I've played manual to the death. For me, manual from the world cup game passing is unbalanced. I've said before that it's just silly considering very short passes are harder than harder final ball passes. Shorty Alien and me back in fifa advised people to use the through ball button for short passes.

Thing is with FIFA you have to be facing the player you want to pass to to be able to make good passes. The movement is lazer like sensitive and The game ends up as a mess most of time i play (online matches vs other players) it dosen't replicate football. Its just the best way to play fifa and it requires more skill that's all.

I've said before also that i feel manual is more for Be a Pro!

Also you have to factor in all the gameplay issues. With creating chances being so easy. There's no need for build up!

Everyone has their own opinions which i cool. that's what forums are for.

But if the reasoning for you opinion is poor like it clearly is with you. Don't expect people to take you seriously! By the way the forum is called 'Evo web'. remember that yes :) PES brought everyone here!

I actually have to type that in on the URL everytime when I come here, so don't need a reminder.
