Also the first review score is in, 94% from Gamesmaster. They say "The best football game ever".

It doesn't necessarily mean anything but I hate hearing stuff like this:

Praise is pointed at the new Be a Goalkeeper mode, more realistic passing engine and, excitingly, interactive celebration cutscenes (described as "possibly the best part of the game").

Makes me worry when two out of three of the most prominent improvements is BAK and interactive celebrations, and celebrations are best part of game - the best part of "the best football game ever"? That's not what I want my football game to be known for, so hopefully this quote is not indicative of the game itself.

I don't trust FIFA reviews anyways. Don't know why I bother reading 'em - they usually just make me cringe.

FIFA reviews are just like the PES reviews now.

Aren't interactive celebration cutscenes in since FIFA08? :FAIL:

This review makes the game look bad, rather than the opposite lol.

Does anyone else feel the game has responsiveness issues? Playing the WC game I get frustrated at times, sometimes thinking I'm just too slow. But then I switch to a different game, like an FPS, and I have no problems, so it makes me wonder if FIFA isn't as responsive as it should be. Any thoughts?

Now you can celebrate toghether with your mates! That's the new interactive part. Pretty much sums up who is reviewing the game; "Dave, come a look at this, you can join in aswell! Wow that's amazing! Top, Top game."

Yes, Fifa is in its control not as direct as one would wish for, espescially in close quarter-play... PES 2010 though was worse because of real response-issues.

I think if you want more direct control you will have to either play PES 5/PES 6 on PS2/PC or wait and check out PES 2011.

@ Max,

Do you use R2, the slowdribble modifyer button? That enables you to have more control and sharper turning in small spaces. Also I've always found the stick to be to slow/imprecise for a football game when it comes to player movement. I'm still a d-pad user.

Yeah to be honest the new interactive celebration islikely the first most impressive thing the casual fan would notice in the game...it does look good though.

I think they mean the renewed celebrations: the authentic ones that known players do when they score is now automatic if you don't touch any buttons (or just press X, don't really know) AND when in multiplayer you can interact with eachother. Like when f.e. I score and run to the flag to slide on my knees, then you come running after me and jump on my back or knee slide as well or do a different celebration.

This will really add that extra buzz when scoring instead of the lacklustre celebrations from previous FIFA's

Guys, if you can't take the review percentage score seriously I wouldn't take any other part of it seriously. They are tools, and, worse than that, from our point of view, they are the enemy. Idiots with no idea what they are doing who have been empowered by money to think their opinions have some kind of remote meaning.

To be fair - the interactive celebrations are an enormous improvement, but that's because up until this moment the custom celebrations were a negative asset for the game.

You mean L2? R2 is sprint I believe. Anyways, yeah, I probably use slowdribble too much to tell the truth.

The sticks may be part of the problem like you say, but also I play all manual controls, which at times can throw you out of sync, imo, with the attack attack attack football FIFA almost pushes you toward playing.

This video looks alot more like what i played at gamerbase.

you can see the pro passing is in but not really in terms of direction. Also watch when the guy tries to use second pressure, you can just move round them now aslong as your not running full speed.

proto the anderlecht goalie vanishes when shaking hands, thats 10 anderlecht players again like the arsenal video, will ea fix this bug before release?

Yeah, an enormous improvement to a part of the game this not... actually part of the game. Again, just shows where EA's priorities lie - let's not worry about first touch and instead fix celebrations. Yay.

and Konami's prioritise towards having stupid themed substitutes for balls like barrels and candy. Really? No.

Frankly, if I never have to watch a celebration ever again where some stupid green haired cunt on Clubs runs off and does about 8 flips with his stupid purple afro-haired black teammates (one who is 6'7" and the other who is 5'3") with the names "Paki" and "Koon", then I'm happier for it. Obviously, if you don't play online/Clubs you won't really understand this.

Obviously we'd all love it if they focused on a very small range of things but a lot of people want to see improvements to celebrations, silly balls, different shapes of net, ankle tape, and so forth. Again, we need to accept that EA, and even Konami don't just focus on us, and try to show them a way of making sure that the focus the casuals get doesn't hurt us.

Yeah, and all that crap is retarded. But a priority? No. I'll excuse Konami for the stupid pumpkin heads and pinguins as long as they make substantial improvements across the board to gameplay, which they've done, big time, plus they've added MLO.

My point isn't so much on celebrations per se as that they've been a priority, picked out by that review as one of the three biggest improvements to the game, and, worse, maybe the best part of the game.

Not so much a small range of things but gameplay first and foremost, and there are loads of gameplay elements that ought to come first. I think what makes it worse is that celebrations is such a divisive feature - personally I skip every one I can, while we know the emotional debates that surrounds the issue of celebrations online.

But no, I'm not going to sick down and silently accept it when EA prioritize features that are not part of its core gameplay. FIFA made such a leap forward with adding 360 dribbling and their freedom of play mechanics, but now I feel they've wasted the momentum they built.

:/ Why? Both of them are visual improvements which will help with the immersiveness of the game, not that important, but nice to have, and quite a few people are really happy to see these features.

I see from the videos the commentary hasn't changed in terms of excitement, still dull Martin Tyler when there's a near miss.

Has anybody heard anything that's been improved on the commentary front for 11?
