Fifa 11 Xbox 360/PS3

Yeh that is absolutely ridiculous looking. There is something very wrong with the way dribbling works in FIFA. It would be one thing if the jogging speed was much slower - but it's really pretty fast - and making a 180 degree turn doesn't seem to affect it much.

Update of the twittering with Rutter

@Sc0rp1o pro passing - how good you are on the button, how good the player on the pitch is, and how hard the pass is...
@Sc0rp1o and if you want more 'realistic' switch to manual. Everything is you and you alone...
@Sc0rp1o I'll look at the vid in a bit. Thx

@ruttski np, maybe you should release a vid of league two teams (instead of 5*) displaying the pro passing as all videos look like FIFA10.
@ruttski I actually do play on manual/semi assisted (shooting) offline, but once I go online I get slaughtered against assisted folk. :s
@ruttski The league two vid could display the bad ball controls, passing and shooting. A LOT of hardcore fans would appreciate the realism.

Offical Gameplay Video, Gary Paterson playing one of the associate producers:

YouTube - FIFA 11 Next Gen gameplay footage

Will watch all of this later but after seeing 3 mins I really have to ask why EA didnt release more official vids like this. In the 3 mins I saw it looks so much better than those unofficial vids where people just press sprint and keep tapping pass.

So am I the only that cant wait for the game?

I think from what I have seen it looks more polished, cant wait to try the CM stuff and also having the ability to play a clubs game vs the AI might be a good alternative to playing the assisted glitchers.

Sure there will be bugs/issues, but no matter how hard EA try there are folk posting here who will never accept the game for what it is. I totally agree with some of the points raised, but until next gen this is the engine.

Maybe its just my old age kicking in, but I couldnt really care less if a player done a rabona with his left foot instead of his right. In fact there would be uproar if EA spent x number of man months ensuring small things like that are implemented.

Very well said :APPLAUD:

I also cannot wait for the game. It's a beautiful game, I'm enjoying FIFA WC so much and since they've slowed down the game speed for FIFA 11 I'm in haven.

I also don't understand people who moan about if the player used his righ foot to kick the ball or not. Seriously it's a video game get a life.

Some go as far as saying EA does not understand the basics of footbal. Are you kidding me, just because a software product is not an accurate representation of the real thing then you think the people behind it do not understand football?

Come on...if even you can understand the fundamentals of football how much more the people behind the best footie game to date.

Better yet, if you have so much understanding why not make one for yourself then.

I'm looking forward to it. I certainly don't want to play FIFA10 any more, that's for sure, so I know I'll be playing either FIFA11 or PES2011. And with regards to the latter, I only have one question: does it have full manual controls? If the answer is still no, it's a non-starter. It would take something special to get me to return to assisted now.

So I'm hopeful for FIFA11, without expecting too much. It's not going to be the great leap forward to realism that we'd ideally wish for, but if they can give me an improved FIFA10 with the bugs and the irritants (defensive AI, player selection logic, etc) cleaned up, I might be able to have fun with it.

I don't play online, so if the game looks bad when demonstrated by two pressure-whoring one-two-abusers (no sh*t), I'm not going to get unduly worried about that just yet.

Agree with every word. Dunno what the draw is with online Fifa play in all honesty. Better to get your mates over and a few beers. :WORSHIP:

Just a point I want to make, to me, semi passing on FIFA seems more close to passing in reall life.

Doing a pass in real life is not as intricate as doing a passing in FIFA.

Creation center has opened!

http://www.ea.com/soccer/fifa/creation-centre

2 bad you need a pre-order code...
Without a code, it seems you can still look at players created by others.

Interesting that Attacking Work Rate and Defending Work Rate have HIGH/MEDIUM/LOW settings, by the looks.

Didn't someone once mention something about an 'interceptions' attribute this year? It's not listed.

You can now set default goal celebrations for each player, and set winter sleeves/gloves separately from summer accessories. And there's sock style too.

You can see a list of player Traits. I pray they bother to actually explain what these things do in-game this time. I wonder what Leadership does... I wonder if it does anything.

Either people are only giving their players a single position, or you still can't set secondary positions. Where's the logic in that? They have secondary positions in the game, and I've been able to edit secondary positions in PES for years. In the World Cup Edit Player menu, if you ever changed a player's primary role he would LOSE all of his secondary roles. It's daft.

Too bad you can't model the face, they all look the same. If they had something like the face editor in the sims game, oblivion or whatever, then it would be pretty cool since you could actually make players look similar to real life.

Curiously did they ever mention whether or not they fixed the issue where say a player's primary position was LW or LB which meant he had the instant ability to play RW or RB too the same level (well at least with his number rating).

You got to understand there are ppl who prefer hardcore realism/simulation, so things like a player who is right footed being as accurate with his left foot, is not a representation of real football. It is seen in other games too, such as FPS games. You have Call of Duty, Battlefield etc but then there is ARMA, which is a military simulator and has lots of fans.

I've mentioned before, as well as posters here, that a 3rd party company needs to come out and dedicate there resources to making a hardcore football simulation game.

Saying all this, Fifa 11 is an improvement and probably will be the best football game we have, so alot of us will be picking it up.

P.S I read something on the official fifa forums, a quote saying how one of the developers would like to implement a hardcore mode for Fifa 12, so fingers crossed.

The good thing is there are some high up guys at EA that want the game to go this way so hopefully we will see that in future games, the sliders if they are done right should allow us to fine tune a lot of the game while still keeping the basic gamers happy...

A german guy confirmed that you can only give one position to a player.

It doesn't make sense. They have a database full of players with multiple positions, but they can't be bothered to add that extra field to the edit mode or creation centre.

Unfortunately it's suicide. The amount of time and money it takes to develop a next-gen game, and then to throw it out there in direct competition with two behemoths... nobody will take that risk. And that's before even mentioning licenses.

So you have a go at us for wanting to have a game that simulates the real game, then you go and contradict yourself with this,
Just a point I want to make, to me, semi passing on FIFA seems more close to passing in reall life.
Why do you care? It's just a video game, you know ;)

Why we say that? Because EA are saying it's supposedly a simulation of football. It's pretty obvious then that we're looking at things that actually make it that. But if EA came out and said it's not a simulation of football, and it's just a video game and just made for fun, then I don't think anyone would have a problem then and wouldn't even bother with EA.

You should get a life to then, or instead of playing games that are made to be the closest to the real thing, play pure football, its just a Game.

Why don´t you like the speed in fIFA 10? its a video game, get a life :COAT:

Topic Off:

sorry for off topic, but when EA Sports include the option to change haircuts of players :S,its more easy than new creation center bla bla bla...ea complicate your life hahaha,of the rest perfect, but completly your editor EA!! its a stupid time for adding this options :)
