Fifa 11 Xbox 360/PS3

Can someone (who he'll respond to) PM Gary to check?

He's surprisingly returned 2 of my PMs but I think the fact that he didn't immediately respond to our question the in thread, after he popped in to give us a little bit more detail on the fatigue model, says a bit about what the answer is going to be.

Yeah I was sorta thinking that.

Hmm, lol that's was what i was getting at. My description was pretty basic and maybe a bit vague. Take Barca for example, they quite literally pass teams to death! Their opposition tends to get warn out near full time. Mainly in tight games where they are defending a 1 goal lead or hanging on for a draw. It isn't really a coincidence that big teams always seem to get late goals against smaller teams in tight games! At times it's just the quality and a moment of genius but a lot of the time the small team unfortunately cracks! Stamina could reflect this! It would be nice to see this reflected in FIFA!
Exactly. And it makes subs MATTER. Need a win bring on your own version of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer on. LOL would be epic.

Due for release in the U.K. on October 2, 2010, FIFA Soccer 11 promises to be the most technically advanced, feature-heavy football game to date, and judging by the list of new innovations, which includes the Personality+ feature, it's going to be well worth the wait.http://www.cheaptr.com/With Personality+ a player’s abilities on the pitch is mirrored authentically in game, creating individual personalities. Players will be distinguished from one another through a sophisticated database that evaluates and grades each player’s skill-set over 36 attributes and 57 traits, compiled by 1700 scouts around the world.
Go away Glen...

Clever Bot...

I think given all the great reports we have had we can agree on the main problems with the game from the more Sim orientated amongst us are the things unfortunately EA will feel would alienate the casual and pick up and play gamer, this I fear is a tricky problem...

Good to see some positive impressions, especially with regards to pressuring.

They really need to sort out the AI though and that won't happen this year (not enough time to release).

The AI is one of the reasons ping-pong passing is so common - the AI defenders usually leave at least one player open for a first time forward pass, the other reason being that attacking players do not seem to make smart enough movement off the ball, so the only way to get any real forward momentum is to pass, trigger run, pass, trigger run...
Even on manual on FIFA 10, this was the most effective way and playing any other way just felt like a waste of time.

Hopefully though now pressuring isn't so effective, we can get past onrushing defenders and get into more dangerous areas with the ball rather than having to offload the ball like a hot potato to the wings...

Still, it's pretty shit that the pressure button even exists, I could understand in the past when 360 degree control wasnt implemented, but now we have full control over the defender's movements it really isn't needed - we could just use the jockey button and have the current "pressure" button as a "tackle" button (as soon as you press it, your player does a tackle animation)... I seem to remember FIFA 98-2000 and ISS 2000 having the tackling done this way.

A goal I'd love to be able to score in FIFA 11 is having my attacking mid run from midfield, beating a pressuring midfielder/defender with a simple skill/direction change and then hitting a powerful, dipping long shot into the top corner.

I'm starting not to really care about FIFA or PES, because neither of them will probably completely satisfy me.

In fact, screw FIFA and PES, I'm gonna be all over this instead:

I don't think either will be better than PES5... It amazes me how such an old game (almost 5 years old now) does so many things so much better than what's produced today for hardware that is much more powerful...

I wish I liked/understood basketball... that game looks incredible .

I've stopped going on/listening to FSB - it started off as a reliable source of news with some balanced and honest opinions from Chris Davies, but the last time I went there it seemed to have become the WENB of FIFA... Fanboy infested shite basically.

Yeah, I think actually the offensive AI may be the key, at least the first step. As it is, your offensive teammates are so poor, the defensive AI has to be crap to level the playing field. Maybe neither is necessarily the first step but if one is improved, the other must be as well, or else either D or O will be at a disadvantage. Ideally I want to see tight defending and offensive players trying to shake and bake their mark to get free. Right now too often guys are just standing around with their hands down their shorts!

A problem with getting rid of the pressure button is right now pretty much the only way to get an interception is by doing it yourself, so that'd need to be changed. Also, though I'm not a big fan of the "pressure" button, I wouldn't be against having a "contain" button.

If someone would like to summarise that'd be nice, have no interest downloading and listening to a podcast.

I second that. I actually tried to listen last week but it was hard to understand - I suppose it can be difficult to speak when you've got EA's junk in your mouth.

I'm getting NBA 2k11 for the first time since NBA 2k2 just because of Jordan. I got 2k2 just because of Jordan too. I don't follow basketball religiously, but I know a legend when I see one.

Notice it was when Adam decided to be a part of FSB.

Just back from Glasgow and cant believe I was even worried. I know the old pesimism will kick in and you all go, off on one but it really is majorly improved.

AI is for me the biggest step up. They track runs and close you down in their half far more effectively. You set someone to run and they will be followed with no delay. It takes passing around to open a gap (played on world class) and get in behind. Which I found rarely happened in the 2-3 hours i played. Its certainly a thinking mans game on that difficulty level.

Stamina did make a difference, towards the end of a game CR9 was blowing out his hoop after being sprinted for the match. It effected his touch and ability to keep the ball as well.

Anything else?????

Thanks for that m8.

Enjoying reading all these views. I actually think that those asking for an even more simulated experiece will get their asses kicked by world class. my god i played one game and it OWNS YOU for losing the ball in a silly manner. Looking forward to career mode on world class. Don't think i'll do legendary until my second year.

Yeh, the most impressive thing is the way the CPU attacks and defends against you know. They are prone to human-like errors in passing and make some runs with players that would.

BTW one of the celos in the demo from chelsea was the boot polishing one. Saw a pic of it in the daily mail just now.

Didn't even know chelsea had done it in real life! Awesome.

Have any of you had the chance to play with lower league teams? I like the sound of the AI but possession football isn't exactly standard in Leagues One and Two. I'd like to know if it's possible to lump the ball long occasionally and make something of it, more errors and defensive howlers are what's needed to replicate this, along with a poorer touch.

For me the greatest thing about the new Fifa is asides from player individualism the new shooting - felt so satisfying at gamescom. Cant wait for the demo and full version to drop.

Just pre-ordered FIFA 11, got my code for the Creation Centre, shame you have to wait for the 2nd September to until you can enter the code on the website.

Oh my God the forum is starting to want to bash my head out on a rock. Decent posts are buried by irreverence, idiocy, and more fucking irreverence and then you get a load of people who seem to have a completely backwards view of near enough everything.

Unbelievable. Apparently assisted must be usable in the FIWC. Shoot me.
