Fifa 11 Xbox 360/PS3

have you noticed aswell their phrasing of how long it will take to get a proper mm mode.

It used to be 3 years, but they have changed the phrase now...can't remember what they were saying? something like our 'multi year' aim (it isn't that, but something similar)

So they basically fucked it up before and now have totally taken back to basics.

But the way they talk its as if another company fucked up the MM mode, so now they have to revert back to fix it. Trying to make themselves look better.

No you had a 3 year plan and it fucked up....just come out and say it and say it will take longer than 3 years now :))

It's shit like this people should be calling EA out on when they go play the game next week. It's ridiculous.

Did you then go outside and beat some stranger up cos you were so angry?!
Is it really that big a deal?
Jeez. Nice to have but not really that important.

Yes kit clashing is a big deal, especially when they can do something about it yet fail to fix something that Konami havn't had a problem with after all these years.

Personally I was delighted that manually assigned player growth was removed, fantasy and unrealistic to have in there, what they should have done instead was let you choose simple training regimen to encourage growth in certain areas.

But yes I do agree the new scouting system sounds much better, I never bothered with it in the past because all it gives you is silly pretend fantasy players.

That'd be cool, although I still don't get why some of you guys were "delighted" to see manually assigned growth remove, it was only an option that was off by default after all, and some of us really enjoyed it. I wouldn't mind if they replaced it with something better but player development was completely pointless last year. No matter, hopefully in the future we can get a more advanced player growth feature that would better incorporate individual potential with more realistic training regimens.

Really not sure what to make of the new scouting system. If it takes away the computer generated players feature and only scouts real players in other leagues, than I'd argue that could count as another way the mode has been stripped down - after all, it's not as if players in other leagues can join your team mid season, so in the end it's just a recommendation feature, right? I don't need the CPU telling me what player I should add to my team. Figuring it out for myself is part of the fun. We really need more info about this.

I hated the fake fantasy players but at least they were a shoddy replacement for a real youth/academy system.

Good thing I won't be there - I could see myself getting kicked out!

Why don't they let you see the socks when your selecting your kit?

I see they now show your shorts but jeez, i Remember England vs Mexico on the WC Game, England was all white, Mexico green shirt white shorts.. i couldnt see the socks so i assumed they where red and wouldnt clash. Of course they where white socks but i didn't know this til i started the fucking match! Jesus christ..

And so much these "Improved" cutscenes, the players just teleported onto the pitch, it looks as awkard as the substitution animations from the current game. I'm suprised i didn't see any of those bloody refs checking the nets.

Agree on all these, as we are not allowed to swap kits around at least show us the full kit, short colour makes a big difference...

This looks just like one of my manual games with Bordeaux against a Chelsea pressure abuser. Leverkusen guy is running for his life and when he approaches Madrid's attacking third he has no support and his attack is eventually stopped in it's tracks thanks to his offensive AI not making runs of any sort.

I like the pace of this over the older videos but it still looks like pressure is king and if I'm being completely honest, it doesn't look much different from FIFA 10. Stamina doesn't appear to have much of an effect still (in shorter matches the fatigue should be scaled to kick in sooner no?), and Leverkusen's back-line were beaten twice because they were just standing around.

Yeah I'd get kicked out but after I've played the game thoroughly. Also EA are gonna make people sign NDA's right? So they could shut people up until it's too late.

One good thing I've noticed about AI is that it's actually trying to do pass-and-move. If you look at the Leverkusen against Real(I think?), offensively the AI is not doing to shabby. MM this year is back to basics, the only thing I like about it is the screen that shows you transfer rumors, completed transfers, etc. This at least should give the mode a bit of life, before it was just super bland, nothing to look at at all.

OS: For a scouted player that is not real, how does the system determine that player's personality style? Does it just use ratings based around whether or not the player acts like Ronaldinho when dribbling or would the player's origins also come into play? (An example might be that a Brazilian is a better dribbler while an English player is stronger on the pitch.)

Hyare: The scouting feature from prior iterations of Manager mode has not been moved across into our new Career mode. In FIFA 11 Career mode, it’s a new scouting system. The scouts will look at real players and can be consulted on transfer searches and decisions. Before recommending a player to you, they will look at the financial means your club has as well as the type of player you need the most to build a complete squad.

Am I the only one that noticed that he didn't actually answer the question at all? There's no way that your scout only looks for real players. Can't bring them in mid-season and at some point there won't be enough youngsters to bring in. Have they gone through and given current real life players "potential" ratings?

The more I see and hear on FIFA 11, the more I wonder where the real time was spent, apparently the ground and visuals around the pitch are the same 2D we had before too...

It seems with both games its a leap followed by two or three years of minor work...

Yea noticed that too. A lot of the answers were like that. "Well we feel..oh look something shiny!"

Well.. at least he has the potential to a be a top politician in the future, they are experts in dodging hard questions and claiming anything in a bit to appease the questioner!

You will be surprised how well it works :)

In that short vid Xavi uses the outside of his right foot to shoot. Is his left that weak?

Could also be that the ball is more to his right, right foot being more "ready" for a shot and since the player aimed up it would be hard to reach with his left foot without an extra step to adjust the body.

Nothing I have seen on this years FIFA makes me want to rush out and buy it, what are EA doing with all their time? Seems like they have been resting on their laurels since 09

I'm of the same opinion it smacks of Konami a few years ago..

They seem to have stood still, there could be sooo much more added along with the in game tweaks, as this is really what the Personality+ is, the errors should be part and parcel of the game to start with and if anything it makes you wonder how it worked without it?...

Well, isn't that what transfer windows are for?

I like the sound of it. You don't have to sign them, and I'm sure you'll still be able to search the player database on your own like usual, if you want to. But now we have a scout that's actually more like a real scout, recommending real players from other clubs.

He didn't answer the question because it no longer applies to the new scout. It recommends real players, not generating fake ones. The question was about generated players. New youngsters will still be generated at CPU clubs like they always have been.

Frankly, I don't even mind that. All that FIFA 10 really needs is fixing. It wouldn't be perfect if it was, but it would be by a long margin the best football on the market and I'd happily spend £40 to get something to solve the issues.

FIFA 10 without the horrendous pressure, without the assist problems, without the goalkeeper chip exploits, without the setpiece exploits, wtih a slower game speed... sounds like an excellent game. FIFA really isn't at the point where it needs any particular innovations in gameplay. It just needs to do what's really damned obvious to all of us.

I've managed to play 700+ games on Clubs, and most of it is the most depressing, frustrating experience ever! But if the problems which affect 10v10/11v11 were fixed it would be one of the most fantastic gaming experiences ever. So I'm honestly happy to pay for fixes. Question is - is it fixed?
