Fifa 11 Xbox 360/PS3

For me there's no way they can make the game look better (in gameplay) than FIFA10 unless they get the AI a clue. Attacks need to have more varied runs and players need to react to situations better. Defenders should know when to press and when to cover for the ball over the top.

Anyways, I'm happy with the new player models and can see some of the P+ coming out in gameplay (needs to be played to see really, same thing with PES).
 
I have seen some of the videos and to be honest i'm not at all impressed with what i'm seeing. When I first read about FIFA 11 I was really looking forward to it with the additions of Pro Passing, Personality+ and hearing about the slower pace but looking at those videos it looks so similar to FIFA 10 and 2010 World Cup which i'm quite disappointed about. Obviously I will hold back full judgement until the demo arrives but after playing the PES 2011 MLO Beta and watching the improved Gamescom code in the videos for the first time in 3 years PES is looking (and playing in comparison to FIFA 10) like the superior game.

where is the pro passing? it looks the same ping pong passes....

Check the vid m8. ProPassing is turned off. There is no marker on the power-up bar where the "perfect pass" is normally marked (normally with a yellow notch).

This is why I called this a marketing disaster. You should NOT be allowed to turn such an important feature off for a showfloor demo otherwise all you're left with is persnality+ which apparently is something that is felt more than seen (a la PES).
 
Animations look better than FIFA 10 which makes the game look very nice.. Some of the passing ones look superb

Until you see they have done absolutely nothing in regards to the tactical side of the game! :( This is why it looks so much like FIFA 10, Defensive midfielders still do fuck all it seems, all players are still playing as individuals and defenses don't work together, too easy to create chances! Instant control from everyone :(. Looks very easy to play aswell.

Also the players STILL look like they are skating! I'm not impressed with the first touch animations at all!

Still think i could enjoy this game though! aybe with a club and playign some matches vs some members here
 
The videogamer vid has one forward pass (and has passing+ on) that slips past the attack and he has to run further to get it.

The youtube clip before the videogamer shows one corner where two defenders are going for the ball and one attacker.

Pace looks a lot better, although I would love to see a full match against the AI (with a half decent player in control) with + turned on.
 
Dumb move for EA to even allow pro passing to be turned off at Gamescom. EA really dont realise that unless u make people use these features they wont use them.

Just watched it again. Chelsea is the AI so the PP meter is off. Barca has it on but then it shows a nice through ball played because off it.

I agree with klash on this one.

I don't think the engine being past it though. EA have plenty work with, they just keep coming up with excuses not to.

Attack and defense do not work as teams. They run about like headless tevez's. No stopping in space and waiting for the pass. No covering dangerous runs and getting goal-side.

Still dont get it sorry...i thought you can turn pp meter on/off in option menue. So how do you know the pp meter is off?

When you use PP it has a power gauge thingy above your stamina bar I think?

I am really disappointed with what I am seeing. In all the videos posted so far there is something about every 3 seconds that make me want to gouge my eyes out. Animations that are blatantly too fast too look remotely like something a real human could pull off, 90 degree turns on the flip of a coin without any loss of speed or need to push off against the ground (WHILE controlling the ball), and effortless 180 degree passes. Also remember that while Propassing might be turned off, the supposed aiming inaccuracy is hardcoded, but it all looks too familiar.

I don't even really want to play what I am seeing here. I turned that Italian vid off after 3 minutes just because I was physically turned off by it. Grow some balls EA, and do what you have to do to sort this out till it's released. My major annoyances from FIFA10 and World Cup have not even been touched by the looks of it.

Just look at this video. at 0:08 the player who shimmys takes literally no time to get to full speed. At 0:11, the player does a almost 180 degree pass, and the animation looks sped up about 300%, no need to turn his body before the strike, no need to swing his leg to get around the ball, just SNAP.
at 0:15 the player receiving the pass floats on the pitch rather than propells himself with his legs, and again he makes quite a large directional change while receiving a pass, and almost no impact on his momentum and his acceleration from reciving the pass to jogging normal speed is way too fast.

Someone please go through the config file and reduce the animation speeds to something a bit more realistic.

Anyone knows if the tweet form rutter was an answer to if they made the game faster than FIFA 10/WC or if it was about being the same speed as the builds that Romagnoli and company played?

@MrMeedolson no option to switch pro passing off - but you can switch 'user skill' component off. Hth

@Dave797 Pro passing isn't optional - context and player are always important. User skill component CAN be switched off.
 
Yeah have a look at the videogamer video and look at the passpower bar. Around halfway you have a white vertical line and the closer your pass power is to that line the more accurate the pass. The vertical line moves horizontally depending on the player in control.

That's what they're talking about, the pass weight, that makes the ball go slower or being too hard to receive. If you turn it off it's easier to ping pong the ball around unless the game actually adds error to this itself (which I doubt it does).
 
Sure, but do you know that this is an indication for ProPassing? Perhaps the white marker apears,if you switch controls to semi oder manual. Someone at the Gamescon should check the options,if there's an option to switch it off,cause according to Rutter you can't switch it off.

The markers appear to show the perfect weight and only shows if you have it enabled. It's part of Pro Passing, that's is why it is confusing, it's not all of Pro Passing(tm)

The engine itself is showing its age i.e. it cant eb further improved. Like PES 1-6, game engines needs to be changed in order to make a football game more realistic.

If PES dont take over this year, next year they will unless EA can make a brand new gameplay engine for fifa 12.

That's absurd. Please give one example of what this engine can't handle that is needed (that the engine of PES can handle).
