FIFA 10 360/PS3 Demo Feedback + Videos

Not sure yet. EA have acknowledged that the majority of people think it's too fast and seem to be looking into it.

The great thing about Fifa this year is there seems like there are no gaps in any animations at all

The passing, control, the first touches, heading, shooting and skills all flow together and they all make contact with the ball or the player in a realistic way even with the ball spinning accordingly. The ball may ricochet somewhere off any part of his body from a shot, pass or tackle, you may fall over after he runs into you or he slides and you hit the deck or maybe he will try and ride the tackle. The game never breaks its stride of looking real meaning even the most standard of goals make you want to see them again

You only have to look at the videos in here to see how good it all really is
The deflection system is just amazing. At times I'm just speechless, I watch replays during long minutes.
About the speed of play, I think "slow" is about alright. With less pressure from the opposition it'd be perfect

I really cant understand how even the most loyal PES fans can say that this is not better than PES.

They either just play Fifa on Assisted. Where it is not great.

Or they try Manual, but get too frustrated and don't give it time.

They are the only reasons why they will think PES is better.

I have said it and I will say it again, There is no person that has played Manual Fifa that could honestly go back to playing PES the way it is.

At least I've been converted fellas. ;)

Or those who are finding the friendly AI very meek and allowing the opposition too much time on the ball...

Press up and then down on the d pad.

Job done. Team pressing 4tw.

There is a guy on the EA forums who played it today at a games conference in the far east and he was told by the rep it was the final version. He said keepers were sorted from the demo and that the game felt a little bit slower. They felt they had longer to make decisions.

So all good so far.

Superb news :BOP:

Sure I saw my DM drop into the CB position when the CB was caught out of position on PES earlier, that sort of thing is very cool.

Although I'm not a fan of the overall product anymore (Winning Eleven 6: Final Evolution brought me to this site), EA could certainly learn a lot from playing PES. I don't think there's an harm in taking some influence from other games, that's probably the only way we'll get the perfect game.

Indeed and they've been doing it for years.Nicking ideas from each other,EA seems to do it more intelligently

That happens in FIFA too, doesn't it? I thought that was one of the main things they were vaunting prioritisation of positions.

I tend to control the defensive mid and move him into the gap anyway - force of habit.

I need the full game now. I need to really get into a game so I can get more consistent with my play. At the moment I'll have an hour of really struggling and playing terribly, before eventually getting it together and turning the style on. I need training mode though. My semi shooting just keeps flying wide or going too central. I need to have about 50 consecutive shots in a laboratory environment and see what I'm doing wrong.

Yes players covering positions has been in since 09 at least, eg if I go on a crusading run with my right CB the RB will move across to cover the hole (and/or my DM will drop back to cover the hole).

Ha, clearly I'm not paying enough attention then, was just very noticeable in PES because of the line the defence were keeping, the DM slotted in perfectly.

You definitely have to work harder in Fifa to keep the shape of the formation, whereas you could argue a lot of the defensive work in PES is done when you create your tactics/formation *Ducks*. I'd prefer a mix of the two ideally.

Edit: That's really going to bother me, the fact I've missed that, I've only been playing excessively since the Champions League game, jebus!

Ok, so I quit FIFA 09 at the back end of last year due to the fact you couldn't choose semi control settings online people and I was sick of playing shit matches against assisted noobs, haven't even touched the XBOX since then.

So, get the XBOX out, first game, all semi/manual, world class, I score this goal: http://www.easportsfootball.co.uk/media/play/video/9153029

Instantly sold. I tell you now, if they slow this game down and sort out the keepers, and a few niggles like chesting the ball instead of clearing - then it WILL be the best football game, nay, the best sports game ever made.

I scored this goal as well last night: http://www.easportsfootball.co.uk/media/play/video/9376406 (looked much better in game, the FLV compression they use is made of fail)

Anyway, I'll be banned again in the next hour because even though the admin (Tom) hasn't played PES in 2 years and probably agrees with everything I say he doesn't have the backbone to allow me to post.

right, where do i start with PES, oh PES, once my life long partner that has been bent over and raped by konami. i honestly can't see how this can be released with the gameplay of an arcade machine, really this is the best they could do? (rhetorical), the animations and ball physics are awful to say the least, actually just about everything about FIFA that is right is wrong in PES. the only good things about PES are the graphics are an improvement and the tactis are good, but in no way do these compensate for the complete lack of enjoyable gameplay. i won't keep going on because i'll get labelled a fanboy from the people who love calling the kettle black.

lol, reading this reminded me of that South Park episode with Indiana Jones.

Has there been any word on the radar? I'm still wondering if that's been fixed to be more visible yet. I still feel like a blind man when I can't locate all 10 of my outfield players who've got themselves a few yards of space.

And we have a winner ladies and gentlemen! This is without a doubt the dumbest post I've ever read in my 8 years here at Evo-Web.

as someone ever pointed here

manual kind of passes and shootings like FIFA is actually scripted because the ball would gone exactly where you meant them to go

now try playing real football in real life, does the ball went exactly where where you meant them to go EVERYTIME? nope, not even a combined zidane maradona pele whatever can do anytime 100% perfect skills, passes and shootings in real life....not unless they're cyborgs specifically programmed to play football in perfection.

now which game ctually more scripted eh? lol

Agreed... he wins... He might even go in my sig...

I actually feel myself getting dummer as i'm reading it.

I think what he's trying to get at is that with manual passing, the ball goes exactly where you want it to go. So if you as a player mastered the skill and were able to pin point perfect passes with the analogue stick, how would your passing whilst controlling Xabi Alonso be any different from passing whilst controlling John O'Shea?

Just goes to show that alot of the people that prefer PES, have NO IDEA what manual actually does and how good the game plays with it.

I know it is only one person that said it. But I think that alot of the PES lovers have never experience manual or put the time into Fifa to realise that it is the future.

If we didn't have the Manual option, then maybe PES would be the best game. But we do have Manual so it isn't.

Most of the people that are loving PES keep saying "it feels like the old PES" etc etc

These people are stuck in time, can't they see how silly it is to pine after a game that was made 4-5 years ago? and want every other game in the future to play like it?!

What about progression?! what about games Evolving and getting better?!

It shouldn't, but it gets on my nerves when I know that most of the people prefering PES have not played Fifa properly. All of these people are missing out and it is a shame.

I prefer it to be scripted but a script I choose than one the AI chooses for me but yeah what a silly post.
Today I saw a crazy bicycle kick clearance from Molinaro and I was like wtf ??

What is the learning curve for manual? How many games will it take before I get the hang of it? Leaning towards PES 2010 right now, but that could change, esp if manual is what ppl are saying it is.

It is steep. It will take you a long time.

Go on semi first of all and get used to that, it is more forgiving.

Then go onto Fully Manual.

Manual is hard, it is frustrating. But If you stick with it, you won't regret it.

I am still shit at shooting with fully manual, but I am getting there.

Passing is the thing you will love most once you get used to manual.

I notice a big difference in how the ball moves, when passing in manual compared to assisted. I'd like to go fully manual, but i don't have that much time these days. My manual shooting is awful :P it's so sensitive. I totally agree that fully manual would be a more engrossing and rewarding experience though.

I've been playing full manual for 2 months on 09 and every day since the Fifa demo came out. I still dont think i've got it sorted. However i have been out of my seat when scoring goals and depressed when i get it wrong... You have no-one else to blame when your on manual.

Main thing with shooting this year is to hit the target. If your having trouble shooting stop trying to hit the corners... thats when you put it wide... Try hitting the target if you time the shot right you can get keepers off balance or just as they are starting to close you down..

Then once you've got that you can make tinny adjustments to hit the corners more...
