FIFA 10 360/PS3 Demo Feedback + Videos

You also lose the impact of stamina on gameplay, scaling depletion rates or not.. I've seen Messi's gauge reduced to a third but that has little impact on me as, by the time you reach the 80th minute there's only enough time for 2 or 3 more attacks anyway. If I knew that I'd have a knackered Messi or pooped out midfield for the next ten attacking/defensive changeovers I'd wish I had preserved their energy better.

After playing the pes demo i can confirm fifa is the one and only option for a football title this year. Tons of things to fix but it got the feeling right, pes got it wrong.

Try posting your opinions in there and see how you go from "respected sensible thoughtful poster" to "blind shit-stirring propoganda poster"

I posted in the other thread that I can't stand the PES demo. Like many of us on this site (not just this thread!), I loved the older games. It's awful now. I tried it, I don't like it all. I'll leave it at that.
Sorry, one more thing, how people play that above FIFA is beyond me. How times have changed (for some anyway).

October cannot come soon enough, loving playing this game, even with it's flaws, the attacking element of the game flows together so well. Dribbling with the ball whilst holding off defenders, wide range of passing abilities, fantastically varied shots, there's just not a lot you can't do.

Tactically/Defensively the game could be better, having played the other game now, this really reinforced my opinion. Defenders in Fifa seem to be drawn out of place a bit too easily perhaps, probably because of the sometimes insane pressure.

I'm very interested to see how much of our feedback from the demo will be implemented into the game via fixes/patches. I'm not so much expecting a great deal, but will be hugely impressed if they sort some of it.

Maybe they can take some of the feedback and sprinkle some "Soul" flakes onto the game... yeah...

Define: "Soulless" 1. lacking human qualities; mechanical HA!

Anyway, here's a couple goals (This 5 goal limit is getting very bothersome)

Messi step-over goal - http://www.easportsfootball.co.uk/media/play/video/9331831

Iniesta bottom corner goal - http://www.easportsfootball.co.uk/media/play/video/9363181

Wilkmyster.. just download the 5 you have so far pop them on youtube then over write the 5 again in fifa... Its annoying but gets you more space...

Love the Iniesta goal... How the hell did you get that space on World Class... I swear mines secretly on Legendary :-)

Fair point about downloading the videos, glad I didn't like the one I just deleted too much :D

Really don't know how I got so much space there either, was just playing it across the field casually, looks like one the defenders anticipated something else happening and wandered away from Iniesta. Loved the shot though, had a bit of zip and the bobble added to the realism.

I think the key to space is either walking or holding LT

That was they dont seem to press as much and seem more scared to get close incase you skin the life out of them

Need to give this demo another go to get the awful memory of playing the PES demo out of my mind. :D

Might see what the speed is like on Pro, and if it feels any better than world class. Usually just play on Legendary from the start on the full game though just so I know what sort of level I need to play at.

Now that I played PES2010, I wish the FIFA demo were at least 5 minutes long. I can't get the feel of the game properly with 3 minute halves, but I definitely get how to play PES with 5 minutes.

Also, let's not forget practice mode, custom tactics, and the set piece creator are deactivated until release time.

PES10 is a joke, there's little or no individuality (same as FIFA now), the responsiveness is worse than FIFA and there's no way 360 degree dribbling is in as you can run in a perfect line up the touchline, the fully automated everything means passes go to the wrong player way too often and countless other things which make the game very dated and unrealistic... it's like going back in time playing it.

I'm going to avoid posting in the "other" thread, as a lot of the people in it are blinded fanboys - it doesn't matter what you say, PES is their game and if you have a bad word to say about it (even if true), then you will just get flamed for not seeing the reasons why it's a true simulation and a "footballer's game of choice"...

I really don't see what people can see in PES now, I keep trying the demo in the hope i'll begin to like it, but I just find myself disliking it more and more...

Don't dare deny that this thread isn't littered wth that!! Replace PES with FIFA.

I'm a footballer and i have my game of choice, yet i'll get caned for giving just what you said in bold. I think it's fair to say that people have "their" games they prefer but nobody will allow a single iota of criticism.

Shame really

Actually, it doesn't happen in here really at all - obviously there's a couple of people who seem a but too biased towards FIFA, you get fanboys on every forum.

Most people though in the FIFA section actually have proper discussions, give balanced opinions and aren't biased... These are people who joined the site because they loved playing PES (me included), just look at the join dates.
All you see in the PES thread is honest people saying they are disappointed with the game, with good reasons, and defensive fanboys flaming them for being "FIFA boys" and knowing nothing about football while hailing PES as a "footballer's game" etc...

If people came in here with justified opinions on why they think PES is a good game and FIFA not so, we wouldn't start calling them a fanboy... we would see what they had to say and make a reasonable reply. Unfortunately, this never happens and all that PES fans can come up with is the bullshit from my "Hardcore PES fan key words/phrases" list in their own words...

I'd attribute most of those so-called cop-out phrases to bonafide advantages of PES.

The heavier feeling of the players and especially the ball, the responsiveness(apart from the PES2010 demo :), and the greater emphasis(imo) on player individuality and less rigid fromations and player positioning.

Crikey PES 10's awful.

Need to have at least a good hour on FIFA to get back my faith in football game developers.

How has Sebass got so bad at his job??

I love how the PES 2010 demo, made us love the FIFA demo more, But two things that PES trounces FIFA in is:

1. Nets, the nets and movement of nets in PES are incredible.
2. the grass looks so real and much more lush in PES.

besides that, in every other way FIFA is more realistic and fluid, much more organic movement and it's more like real football.

Bloody nets! Watch the SKY HD advert when united rip arsenal a new one. Then whinge about nets. Same for the nets at Anfield

Do the weirdos who play fishing sims whinge when they catch a haddock or a large bream, and the nets dont look right???

I've just finished two games of the demo. It's upsettingly mediocre IMO. I find it extremely offensive that this is being compared to PES 5. The amount of depth possible from the tactics seems great, and I appreciate the lovely stills you could glean from the graphics, but it bears no relation to football besides being played on grass and being about kicking a ball (although this particular ball feels like it should have three fingerholes in it).

I think the weight of the players in PES has been awful since PES 2009. These players are athletes, not churches. For that matter, the ball also feels unbelievably heavy (and I use unbelievably quite rightly). I appreciate that for some, that weight may feel more satisfying, but football technology has advanced since the 60's. I can't help but feel heading a PES ball would be much like heading a basketball.

In fact that might explain the animations - heading of long balls leading to damage of the central nervous system.

I'm presuming you're referring to PES10, mate? I'm just getting uber confused with the threads and content at the moment.

You know what, I'm going to be slightly surprising now and say I actually understand what the net freaks are talking about

Scoring a goal in PES and seeing the net movement there, it was miles better than the nets in FIFA. Like I've said, I don't tend to look at nets when I score but I made a point to look today and I can see where they're coming from when they say FIFA's nets need to improve.

I agree about the grass, but not the nets.
Firstly the shape of the nets is all wrong (FIFA pretty much has that right), secondly the nets look like thin string rather than netting and thirdly although the nets seem to move more realistically than FIFA, if you zoom in and watch how they react when the ball hits them they actually shake more than Michael J Fox on a Power Plate. Really doesn't look right when you look at them.

And before anyone starts about not giving a shit about nets, I do and so do plenty of others by the sound of it :TTTH:

I played the FIFA demo a tad more tonight and it is growing on me. Tried it on manual and it feels far more free but just need to adjust my mind set.

For me personally its sort of gone from a 5 to a 7 but its still lacking something i cannot quite pin point. not played the other yet as its taking 150 years to download, but it looks good to me.

Anyway I'll keep going on the manual side of things and see if I can appreciate it a bit more.

I have to say, I do appreciate this game more now having played the PES demo.

Something which I found interesting after playing the PES Demo, I spoilered it in the other thread as I new it would make a few angry

Well comparing this to FIFA, isn't right because one is ultra realism while the other is a blend of arcade, good fun and realistic aspects. Something which is interesting me though is the way EA have slowly improved on things which PES has got worse at.

FIFA 08 was a very good game and the start of the EA dominance but it had things missing from it which PES had over it. Response times, Players feeling stiff, Dribbling being utterly impossible, Individuality and shooting. These were all aspects which PES had over FIFA but now all these aspects FIFA has not just closed the gap with but with some beaten PES convincingly. PES improved a lot this year but the worrying aspect is in such a year EA probably improved a game which didn't need the same amount of improvement even more than the competitor. Apart from the general aspect of the two games PES IMO doesn't offer anything "Better" than FIFA other than and better close up graphics.

Too bad we couldn't play around with custom tactics in this demo so we could compare it to the PES demo in that aspect.

The one thing I like about PES is their Custom Tactics. You can really tell the effect it has instantly. In FIFA not so much.
