FIFA 10 360/PS3 Demo Feedback + Videos

Yeah even if its his weaker foot, it could've just been a bobbler... Its not unknown for someone to check back and i'd take over those caruddy chips on the demo all day..

Worrying was how far both keepers were out though.... Nothing to stop people chipping online all the time..

I'm sure they'll get it right or fix it...

well you do have the option to press the Y button 2 times quickly after each other, that's the command to let the goalie stay in his goal.

The GK issue could make or break this game for me. Both online and offline. Keepers don't rush out like that and just stand on the penalty spot or further, irl.

In fact, keepers do rush up to the penalty spot or a little further most of the time and in the game it would allow chip goals anyway. The important thing is that a chip should be HARd to perform, depending basically on skill of the player, balance and speed. The more skill, more balance and less skill, the better it would go in terms of power AND direction, as it's a difficult thing to do while running, specially the power thing.

If they did that, keepers could rush out until the penalty spot fairly sure that the striker has a difficult task to chip him.

I didn't know that thanks

we also need a guide on how to jostle in tackles and while heading, someone said one had been made by EA but i aint seen one yet

To jostle for headers you must simply move ahead of your opponent and time your jump. I won a lot of them, though sometimes you got the feeling that the CPU wins it by scripting reasons...

its funny how many people are getting threats of banning from the 'other' site for not liking their game.:)

this is one of the funniest things i have read of late;

"Anyway because of this, alot of people will always prefer PES. The game keeps fresh year after year because of the brilliant gameplay engine. I dont think most realize how much more complex this engine is than FIFA's"

:):):)

your welcome ^^
Does that thing with the keepers and pressing Y twice work in 09 too, never knew that

I don't know whether it works in 09 as well, I accidently stumbled upon this, what I consider, handy feature! I always press it twice when my goalkeeper is facing 1vs1 and then I decide when my goalie should come out. This way I had a lot of good interceptions by the goalkeeper and a lot less chips/goals.

WILDSTER180774: yeah I wish FIFA had PES graphics overall :p it's weird how the world has changed since old-gen. now, PES has the best graphics while fifa has the better gameplay. 5 years ago it would've been the other way around.

Anyone got a vid of the double tap keeper, cos it ain't in my demo. :-(

As for the 'other site' they are all over sensitive cos they know PES is not right. No matter what they post, that game has stood still for years now. If it was a good game it'd be all good natured banter.

strange.. works in my demo (X360)

Play against yourself Johnny, so that you have the time (without getting pressured) to experiment. It definitely works - he doesn't LEG IT back to the goal but he starts jogging backwards, whereas if you don't double-tap it he's more likely to stand still where you've brought him out to).

as someone ever pointed here

manual kind of passes and shootings like FIFA is actually scripted because the ball would gone exactly where you meant them to go

now try playing real football in real life, does the ball went exactly where where you meant them to go EVERYTIME? nope, not even a combined zidane maradona pele whatever can do anytime 100% perfect skills, passes and shootings in real life....not unless they're cyborgs specifically programmed to play football in perfection.

now which game ctually more scripted eh? lol

I think what he's trying to get at is that with manual passing, the ball goes exactly where you want it to go. So if you as a player mastered the skill and were able to pin point perfect passes with the analogue stick, how would your passing whilst controlling Xabi Alonso be any different from passing whilst controlling John O'Shea?

Problem is, he then went on to make the claim that because you have manual passing in FIFA that allows you to pass the ball exactly where you aim (which, in fact, it doesn't always), it makes FIFA more "scripted" than PES.

I see his point - in PES, the cpu decides where your pass goes, not you. That, apparently, means it's not scripted :FAIL:.

I think the demo has pretty much convinced me to buy this game.
Only question is whether I should buy it on PS3 or Xbox 360. What do most of you guys play on? Would be nice getting some online action going with people here.

I think it's mostly 360 people, 90% of the people on my contact list are FIFA players whereas on the PS3 they're not.

There's always enough players for 360 leagues, 360 clubs etc.

err... i have an offtopic question. what setting do you guys use for your hdtv? i mean the color, sharpness, contrast etc..? my tv is panasonic P42c10k..
