FIFA 10 360/PS3 Demo Feedback + Videos

The free kick crosses are much better, I can't remember scoring from one on 09 but i've scored a few already from them on the 10 demo. Anyone saying this is almost the same as 09 clearly does not know what they are on about, every single thing has been improved and this is 3 builds old, so some of the bugs should be gone in the full version.

i think free kick is way too easy... in one game I'm 1-0 down, in the end i won 1-3, all 3 goal is free kick by del piero... :|
and the keepers keep doing that stupid thing, like parry the ball that he suppose to catch.
the player sometimes didn't head the ball even I've press the button full power, they just stand there, and sometimes when they get the chance from the cross, they tend to chest the ball, resulting it being stolen by the opponent. or in my own box, the defender didn't head the ball clear, but keep chest it.and the opponent takes the opportunity.
i hope they sort it out in the final.
other than that, it's a great game.

Got to admit I don't think I'm going to be able to play against the AI when the final game comes out. Before anyone says "omfg what did i tell u lol play online like every1 else", I played FIFA 09 against the AI from day one and really enjoyed it. In the end Legendary difficulty was too easy and so it became boring, but I could give it a game.

I'm just not having any luck on the FIFA 10 demo against the AI. On World Class you get pressed from start to finish, you can hardly move. It seems like I've always got three players closing me down. Stick it on Pro and it feels instantly better, and I enjoy it - only problem being that if I move all of my defenders away and try to let them score... They refuse to score. They'll walk into the keeper every time. So I'd never be able to lose a game on Pro.

The attacking movement is a bit concerning as well, they still love running behind a defender and making absolutely no effort to try and get in-front of them - and they don't consider backing off to accept a ball to feet, they just keep running forward where the defenders can grab them.

I've played something like 40-50 games on the demo with mates now and I'm finding it hard to knock it, at all - it's the best multiplayer experience I've ever had in my life I think, and that is a big statement. But against the AI, it's just starting to get on my tit now. And I was really looking forward to the bloody Manager Mode as well...

I hope this is one area that's been tweaked within the last three builds but somehow I doubt it...

People are jumping the gun way to much on a unfinished demo

I said as much on the FSB forums, there is no way its possible to judge a game and the way it will play on the basis of a demo this short regardless of how many games you play on it

Coopz/CW, I know what you're saying but if the strikers stand behind defenders in 3 minute matches then they'll do the same in 6 minute matches.

Anyone else had a goal deflect off a defender and thus been called an OG which clearly wasn't the case? Only had it once so far but I hope it's not for every deflected goal as it's only Serie A that does that (last I knew anything about Serie A which is going back a few years).

Yes saw it last night. Striker tapped a rebound in from 12 yards out, my defender slid in, got the slightest deflection which made no difference, and given as an OG

The demo isn't the finished version so how do you know until the 2nd of October?
AI work is something that takes a lot of time because the slightest edit can totally fuck up the game, it's not a simple bug/glitch fix. They've had this long to work on the AI and the way it is now will be the way it is come the final release as far as I'm concerned.

With the goalkeepers it's just a case of making them less aggressive, "don't come out until this point". With the attacking AI they need to make them think about the circumstances around them, opposition defenders and a possible pass from your player, then consider whether to run in for a header or hang back, try and get in-front of a man or go to the far post etc... That's not going to happen within three builds. IMO.

I may be wrong and I hope I am. Either way it's still the best football game I've played; I just can't imagine enjoying playing against the CPU like this and that's a first for me.

Was this not how it was in 09? I imagine it's a pain in the arse to program ("if the shot was going in - replay the shot and take away the following equations, allowing it to continue on the current path, somehow without slowing down the processing rate for the rest of the game at this point - count as a goal by the original shot taker").

I can live with it either way! ;)

Thinking the full version's gameplay/AI will be much different to the demo's and transform playing against the CPU from a pointless experience into an enjoyable one is an extreme case of clutching at straws... Like I said before, some bugs should be fixed (such as keeper positioning) but that's all we should expect.

No in Fifa09 it was correct in how it was implemented, a deflection was not an OG ever, the only time it was called an OG was when there was an actual attempt to make contact with the ball by sticking out a leg for a tackle or trying to head it etc.

It's crap now as we're going to lose out on lots of goals not being given to our players, and thus they will lose form in MM.

Personally I'm enjoying playing against the AI, dunno what you guys are smoking, it's simply a case of finding the right balance of AI skill v user controls that work, right now I'm playing professional with a mix of semi/manual controls (semi shooting as manual is uber inaccurate now).

I had the opposite happen, an Anelka low cross going nowhere near the goal hits off a defender and is given as an Anekla goal (and the commentators saying how amazing it was).

Im dissapointed with the speed of the demo. At the Emirates we played, at the time, a 6 week old code which was much slower paced and was in mine, and most that were there, opinion.....perfect. Then we played the demo code which everyone now has access to and i said at the time it was much faster. It was suggested that it was because it was being screened on jumbo sized tv ......guess i was proved, sorry to say, ....right! Yes i have it on slow. Heavens knows what it is like on normal and fast.
At the Emirates i played many games where i was able to use midfield maestro's, Cesc for one, to control the game and dictate the play. Now with this ultra fast paced demo its just like 09, no time on the ball.......I'm really gutted! I hope it gets sorted for release

I've heard people mentioning the game speed being too fast quite a few times now. What exactly do you mean by game speed?

Do you mean:

the sprinting is too fast?
the passes are too fast?
the reaction times are too fast?

eg what specifically was slower in the version you tested at the Emirates?

The AI never scores though, and the only difference between Chicago and Barcelona is that you can shove Chicago players off the ball more and skin their defenders more easily...
When on the ball and passing it round on Professional it's fun, but I couldn't play a season/MM knowing that i'd lose hardly any games at all because the AI just runs into the keeper or hits it at the keeper every time they get a chance...

I've said a few times that on the normal speed setting it only seems too fast to me because of how quickly the CPU press and how quickly they can pass the ball about on World Class. When I knocked it down to Pro it wasn't too bad.

At the Emirates playing the month earlier build it felt like you had more time on the ball but we were only playing against eachother, and when I play a friend with this demo it feels perfect. Someone on FSB also made this point which I think is valid:

Perfect trapping - I would consider this the cause of the game speed being too fast and ping-pong like. No matter how hard you hit the ball at your team-mates, they will trap it perfectly with no error. It's making the game VERY fast.

Agree with Rob freekicks are to easy, Im actually ok with the aerial game I think its pretty realistic. One thing though I'd like EA to add his miss hits more than ever, If you shoot from 40 yards out on assisted then most of the time your going to get your keeper scrambling over to tip it over or it goes in everytime.

Otherwise its a great game though and a massive difference to last year.

Well after NEVER scoring a direct free kick on 09, for one I'm glad they've made them easier.
Here's one I made earlier.
