FIFA 10 360/PS3 Demo Feedback + Videos

Re: FIFA 10 Demo Feedback + Videos

Is it feasible to go past players by simple change of direction in this demo? Or is it all about using the right stick combos to pull tricks?

Re: FIFA 10 Demo Feedback + Videos

Just Finish playing the Demo for more then 2 hours and that`s my review of the Demo :

EA did a really hard work here its very noticeable improvement over FIFA 09 the game totally Had changed the player control's become more responsive and no button delay shooting become harder and stronger wonderful animations and players details

BUT !! in My opinion EA Ruined the real football simulation by making the game little arcadey like PES and thats my bad points:

* the passing not so accrued so you will lose the ball anytime !!
* When playing against the CPU in World Calls Difficulty the CPU always had the ball and will make a very Deep pressure on your player so every time you gonna cut the ball they will get it again.
* The CPU keep holding the ball by using his player body balance all the time and it really hard to get the ball from him and when you have the ball one touch from the CPU players and you will lost the ball immediately.
* The CPU CBs will always get your Strikers even if your striker away from the CBs by miles.

and thats what i hate the most in PES and what made me hates KONAMI and turn to fifa Coz that what i call cheating so PLZ EA fix this plz !!

Re: FIFA 10 Demo Feedback + Videos

Kind of worried with all the "Goal of a season" goals everyone is producing on the first day. Goalkeepers need to position themselves better and react faster to long range shots going over their head.

Re: FIFA 10 Demo Feedback + Videos

Well I finally got the demo working, thanks to Gomito for his tip to burn it slow.

I have to say this is THE best game of football I've ever played. Aside from the obvious, I think my favourite new feature has to be the pressure sensitive running. I think this will make a huge diffeence to BAP, as I got sick of the constant switch from standing to jogging. Now I can make my player walk around the field a la Ronaldo!

Re: FIFA 10 Demo Feedback + Videos

Really sad this isn't out in the US yet. We don't get the 360 demo til next Thursday. If my PC wasn't such a piece of shit I'd try the demo out, might anyway just to see it.

Re: FIFA 10 Demo Feedback + Videos

Love it, find it brilliant and enjoyable. One thing has me worried though, when the Goalkeepers run out the box for the ball, they run right past it all the time and leaves an open goal. this is an awful bug, I'm sure this will be fixed for the final version, right ? otherwise it will ruin an unbelievable game.

Re: FIFA 10 Demo Feedback + Videos

playing the demo and still i get a lot 1on1 situation..still manage to lob gk..and all the gk position is annoying, they so quick leave their goalie and easily the ai score with a lob..and the ref also keep give a soft foul..

Re: FIFA 10 Demo Feedback + Videos

Played it yesterday and it's the same old FIFA-crap.
Every ball you touch bounces away, the player models are the same as in FIFA 2000 (except the faces) and are really "fifa" (bad/fake), movements are still the same and the speed of the game is far too high, never seen a match in this tempo.

When PES 2010 will be as bad as 2008, it's still better than this shit and before the release of the demo of PES 2010, I'm already shure I'm playing PES this year instead of this TOTAL CRAP.

Thanks for watching!

Re: FIFA 10 Demo Feedback + Videos

I wonder why nobody else is talking about the increased speed

has this been known by the previous builds?

I know that you can set it to slow, but nevertheless it's a lot faster than in 09, and for us simulation fans it might be a little bit too fast, even on slow

Wow... Barca must have beaten you badly.

Re: FIFA 10 Demo Feedback + Videos

I'm really really pleased and impressed with the demo.

To sum it up,EA has taken FIFA09 and made it better with FIFA10.

The animations, the player models, faces and kits are improved vastly from 09.

Gameplay dosent feels scripted and running dosent feels like running on rails anymore...its more freedom and loose now.

One thing I'd like to point out is that the demo on "Normal" speed setting is a tad to fast.It is perfect for me on "Slow"

I do not feel like going back to FIFA09 now...I would play this demo till kingdom come or rather October 2nd. Cheers.

Re: FIFA 10 Demo Feedback + Videos

Played about 5 or 6 matches late last night. Felt to me exactly the same as FIFA09.

Then again, I never wish to play against the cpu, and it's as bad a gameplay experience as it's always been.

Of course, I'll still be buying it, but only because I have to, because I want to play online footy, and everyone else will be "upgrading" to FIFA10, so I am forced to also.

But for me, this game is stagnating the same way PES has for the past 5 years. I feel no more new freedom at all. Everything still feels to be at the same level as FIFA09. Manual is not really manual, still feels like 8 directional movement, no real control over the power of passes or shots, button delays, obvious cpu interference (ie cheats), the cpu is pixel perfect in everything it does. I'm sure it will still be fun online, but exactly the same level of fun as 09.

Maybe as the weeks go by, I will notice some improvements over 09, but they are clearly slight and subtle, because the fundamental feeling I got when playing this was that this was the same game I've been playing for the past year.

Re: FIFA 10 Demo Feedback + Videos

Such a big difference from 09. I love that every standing tackle or collision with the ball overall is right now. In 09 the result after a standing tackle were always the same, but now the ball react just like it should, it all depends how you hit it now.

Amazing game. The keepers seems to be weird but that has already said to be fixed in the newer builds (this is 3 builds old).

I love it, everything is so much more realistic and dynamic compared to 09. Can't wait for the full game.

I also think this thread should be renamed to something like FIFA 10 DEMO XBOX 360 / Playstation 3 so that we don't get people moaning about stuff that turns out to be the PC version.

Make a Uk gamertag, I did this because I live in ASIA.

Create a new HOTMAIL account, saying you're from the UK. Use ky12 8dz as a postcode country scotland. Then you can 'create' a new profile on XBL and when it asks you to join gold, just refuse and it'll automatically give you 1 month free trial.

So if the game is the same as last year. Spend an hour trying chipped through balls and barging defenders out of the way. It doesn't work this time. Takes some shots from distance. Do they all go over the bar? Use skilled dribble to slow up a defender with Messi then show me a clip of that being done in 09. Every tactic that worked last year has gone. You now have to open a team up. You also now have to concentrate defending.

The graphics are the same but that's it.

I beleive if you don't like FIFA 10. It's because you chose not to like it befor you even started playing it. Sure there are a few minor bugs. But it's the most fun, closest thing tonreal football we have. So embrace it and enjoy it. Instead of looking for things to complain about.

Re: FIFA 10 Demo Feedback + Videos

I feel pretty much the same. There's no doubt that this is an improvement, but I'm still seeing some of the same things that bugged me about Fifa09.

It's still too easy to dispossess the opposition simply by running into them and vice versa.

Beating a man still seems too difficult, even with the likes of Messi. The beauty of the 'rival' game is that great dribblers can skin the opposition simply by twisting and turning, without the need for close control buttons or tricks.

The ball is still a bit too floaty for my liking, although it is an improvement on last year.

These aside, Fifa10 looks impressive and will be a first day purchase from me.

100% agree, its a purchase but its not the fantastico that some profess it to be.

There is also alot of stuff I do not understand,

-Rutter said no cut scenes......the sub shit is still there and its crap.
-why not have the ability to turn off the crap celebration mode
-Skilled dribbling is not apparent to me its just a case of different speeds, were we not told you could hold a man up and beet him with the 360 dribble? I'm playing on slow and played about 15 games and not once have I manged to hold a man up and beet him!!
-Goalkeepers are very poor but this seems more like a bug
-I have noticed a less floaty crossfield ball with a tad more drive but not a great deal of difference.
-still loads of times where you just need to run into the player to dispossess him
-jostling for high balls is still average, but on the ground it is excellent

I dunno, its good but its not an upgrade its just got more polish, someone described it as an exspansion pack and I think that is about spot on. I sold 09 within about 3 months so have not played that for 9 months, yet this still feels the same. I cannot put my finger on it and maybe it's not my type of footy game........but i'm quite dissapointed.

It's got all the polish (although the other game has matched it) but it's still quite a frustrating affair.

Also if you don't like the game. Try going in to the settings before the game and change the controls from assisted to manual, or at least some of them to manual. It makes a big difference and you might like it more. Just saying unless want to hate it, then there is no solution I think.

Also I don't think beating a man is too hard. You can't just try to run to the side, it is too obvious. In FIFA 10 you can do quick touches right before the defender try to take the ball to get around him or get a freekick. You can also put off defenders pretty easy now with a simple body feint. Just a well timed knock ahead will work too. None of this worked well in 09 but works in 10.

I have been playing the PS3 version of the demo overnight and generally it is an improvement on FIFA 09 and plays really well.

However, I do have 2 concerns. Firstly goalkeepers, they seem to be very poor and do random things, now this is a demo so I am sure that this will be fixed in the final version.

My bigger concern is that on world class level I am finding it far to easy to score goals, at first I thought that maybe because I was playing as a strong team but even playing as Chicago I am able to score 2/3 goals on a very consistent basis, while to begin with this was great but now to me it doesn't feel like that I have to "work" for my goals. Now this could be related to the goalkeeper issue but I think that shooting far to powerful. I have shooting set to manual.

I am sure that EA will address these concerns.

FIFA 10 is a damn fine football game, I would have settled for FIFA 09 (which I still play) minus the bugs, but EA have not rested on their laurels, they have gone and improved almost every aspect of the game.
