I actually prefer fifa's because in PES if you have 5 min to go and you need the ball and you get it your forced to kick it out when you could just pause it and change ur formation etc, and your opponent could be a time wasting cunt keeping possesion with his defence


That shouldn't really be a problem with the ability to set 5 custom formations with their own settings in game on the fly I will never be pausing it now except for subsstitutions :)

Getting possession back is a good point, I probably wont play a lot of random folk online in 09 so hopefully it wont be an issue.

I've got a little question about the edit mode of Fifa 08 . I havent bought Fifa for 5 years ^^ so i dont know what you can do with the Edit mode of Fifa :DD
Is it possible to change Names of the players or creater players for a team? Can you change the face details or something like that? It's little bit :OT: i know ^^

If I'm gathering correctly what you're asking the answer is traits, here's the list of possible traits with explanations:

the live vision trailer has real ingame animation or is animated only for this movie???
because if the animation ingame would be exactly like in this movie... it would be absoluted fantastic!!!!!!!!!!!!
the way ribery pass the foot around the ball is just amazing animated!!!!:applaud:
and the 1 - 2 that rosicky and fabregas do with great movimentation... :applaud::applaud:
the passes are beautiful to in this video... great animation...

theres some things that worries me. One is that the tricks are easy to do, we see in videos and i´ve seen it in Fifa 08 that people abuse os the tricks wich make the game a little unrealistic.

True that the tricks didn´t work always, but its annoying to see a player do some tricks that in fact in reality they will never do or be cappable of do.

Just a point, where is messi loking when he shots for goal ????

the graphics i'm sure that is from ingame, but the animations in this movie are from gameplay!???
its like a gameplay video but with cinematic cameras???
everything that is in the video will be in the gameplay with the exactly same animations???

just watched the hd vid on my PS3. its all ingame. it's just a closer camera angle than normal.

fifa09 looks incredible.

i try not to, but i can't help but hype myself for it.

It's getting unbearable now. Playing FIFA 08 and wishing the player would be just a smidge faster... It's really hard.

My hopes are so high now, the game is going to have to be perfect or I'll be heartbroken.

Honestly I've been playing 08 again recently and 09 is really so much better, I was one of the people who didnt find 08 that sluggish but bloody hell its unbearable for me at times now after giving 09 a run.

i have been pro evo only player for years now,last fifa game i bought was fifa 2007,and i brought i back to gameshop soon after,i found it so much worse than pes5,bad gameplay and no fun playing it.
i had high hopes for pes2008,bought ps3 and ps2 versions,it became the biggest disappointment ever(ps3 game disaster).
i have good hope that pes 2009 is going to be a good game from the comments so far,and a must buy game for me.
i played the fifa 2008 demo last year and found the game not good ,unresponsive and shooting not at level from pes6(on ps2).
the many good previews for fifa 2009 decided me to try the euro 2008 demo ,that came with opm magazine demodisc.
i tried to have controls as simular as with pes,and to my surprise playing with new anolog,and classic dynamic camera was almost identical to the way i play pro evo.
only france -germany in demo,but i could not stop playing.
passing,headers and shooting much improved and a good gamespeed,tense situations in the box(like in pro evo),it convinced me that missing out on fifa 2009 because of bad experiance in the past would be a mistake.
the radar is not as good as in pes,and its a shame in fifa you can not change players like in pes,a black player being white and white player black and your not able to change it like pes with optionfile is a shame.
also in the past players from lower leagues and teams had to many simular faces and you could not change them.
however the playermodels in fifa 2009 seem much more realistic now .
looking forward to the demo to confirm,but i think i already now i buy this game.
a good pes stays number one for me,but fifa can become a close second.
more is better,football the winner,competition is good.

Have to remember that the guy at Level7 is somewhat of a PES fanboy. I would say he's pretty much like Adam at WENB.

Adam and that guy pretty much say that FIFA 09 is a great game but PES 2009 is better. Didn't read the translation but the bad points with 09 to him is:
- Response time is still not as good as he wants
- Ball physics is balloony and not realistic at all
- The ball is not its own free object but follows preset rails

I, as a manual player, find the last point very a amusing because the ball has never been so free in a game as of fifa 08 and euro 08.

I think I will really enjoy this game if he only find these things to complain about. Because I think the ball physics in Euro 08 is good, it wasn't in FIFA 08. I'm a manual player so his last comment doesn't bother me and since the response times will be better than in Euro 08 it can't be bad to me.

There is still some really bad thing with FIFA though. Only one player from each team can try to take the ball. I've commented on this a hundred of times in this thread, sorry. But this is the most unrealistic thing in FIFA and PES owns this area totally. Where this is most evident is on corners because the box is crowded but only two players will be able to head the ball. Every corner looks exactly the same. You can position your player perfect but the game might have chosen another player to be the only one to lock on to the ball. Pisses me off just to think about it.

He basically admits to being a Pro Evo fanboy. FIFA is the winner this year, no doubt about it. Konami is now playing catch up and you know what I hope they do retake the crown in the future because it's me and you the gamer who benefits. PES is running on an old engine, it's been the same for years, I was a a total PES convert after WE5 on PS2, even though I had dabbled with ISS etc before that. And I couldn't stand FIFA until they started making an effort with teh NEXT GEN systems. Even though FIFA 07 was hugely flawed. it was immediate to see that EA were trying something new and that struck me as PES/WE hadn't changed for years and each incarnation like UCL , FIFA 08 , UEFA and now FIFA 09 has improved and they have really listened to what the fans wanted, something Konami has never done. And now FIFA due to this is the #1 footy game on the market and due to financial status and stratergy of listening and improving will be hard to displace. But as I mentioned before if Konami do take their finger out and make PES 2010 the updated game it needs to be and goes beyond FIFA that's where my money will be going but until then EA will have it for what is undoubtedly the best value for money package there is.

:SAL: although i was PES much earlier.

I hope PES flops if Konami just want to be arrogant and quote sales all the time thing is i doubt it will flop. It was a bigger seller in Europe last year PES 2008 over Fifa 08 but worldwide Fifa 08 had more sales.

Although i still hold off judgement until playing PES 2009 i really dont think its going to change my mind until there new technology and new engine and i hope thats PES 2010.

I cant wait till the FIFA 09 demo is out now. I will soon stop playing any football title in preperation for the new releases. :)
