People must have better eyes than me if they're looking at that shitty quality video and being impressed by it.

That said, the animations did look really lifelike from what I could see :)

Well hopefully we'll see better video soon when this exclusive media blitz kicks in for whichever site negotiated it :) I just hope that those of us peons who aren't paid subscribers get to see some decent footage as well :)

I hope the "more variation in tackling" points to being able to pinpoint flying studs-up tackles onto Arsenal players' ankles, with realistic impact reactions, such as pain causing a seemingly drunken attempt at a cartwheel.

It's so nice to hear that they have acknowledged so many of the flaws that annoys me in FIFA 08 and EURO. I'm not sure they can live up the hype on their custom formations. It sounds great, that it's not only changes to the actual formation but to the actual way of how the team play, but it sounds a bit too good to be true.

it won't be like pes as they said you have the custom formations but then you also have sliders to make your team more attacking and more defensive respectable and there was a magazine scan which showed were each of your players would make their respective runs/stay in or track back to.. which i thought was beyond what we know of custom formations in game atm its like been a manager :EASY:

I do actually believe it, things like that I tend to be optimistic about because, stupid as I am, I can't believe that a company the size of EA would say such a massive lie (I believe the players make 1000 decisions as well like they claim, just very basic and sometimes poorly programmed ones).

I do think, though, that a large number will be ridiculous things that make fractional difference to the game, i.e. "the ball is now 0.5% heavier" or "the grass is now 4.8% thinner". A tactic they're already using, as Noted has just pointed out.

Among all those changes I hope they focus on making the game lifelike with coaches (already done in EURO 2008) ,subs (definitely not like PES :LOL: ),coin toss, FKs and CKs tactics .....

I think it's going to be gameplay tweaks rather than new additions, meaning "player selection locking on corners is fixed", "players pick themselves up more quickly after tackling/being tackled", "discerning between a button press for a header or a volley is now more accurate", etc.

I'm really glad that they're just tweaking it now that the engine is next-gen though, this is exactly what I hoped for when the next-gen consoles came out.

Not sure about that, I think the 250 key improvements they are talking about is true. It's just not that AI is one improvement, more like 30/40 different AI fixes that people complained about. So I think the point they are trying to make is that there are 250 improvements that they got from consumer feedback, doesn't sound that far out to me.

Anyone knows if you will be able to save replays in 09? I don't want to upload replays, I want to save them and be able to later look at my manual shots blazing into the top corner :LIE:. Can't believe that feature is missing.

I just realized...

That better be in there, I am not going to watch another of my players running like the wind to intercept a ball when clearly the ball will be intercepted by an opponent some 50 feet from where my player is headed, and not being able to do anything about it.

They all look good apart from the one with Ronaldo's freekick, dunno why but when i first looked at it i thought it was a oldgen pic, seems very low quality compared to the others.

I think this is this years equivalent of last years "1,000 decisions per second". It is quite possibly true, but the impact was not particularly noticable or impressive.

Yeah, this one is sublime...looks and feels like you're really there, even if it is probably Photoshopped a bit.

Makes me feel that having a spectator mode when playing 5v5 on-line could be cool if you could sit in the crowd and get a view like this as the match plays out.
