What's with Toure looking away from the ball? And a Chelsea player (Bridge?) completely running away as if the ball if somewhere entirely different?

:brick: Errr perhaps try reading my reply, then you can understand why you're talking nonsense ;)

LOL! I did read your first reply prior to posting my second. It just worried me a bit to see it on a second screen. You are correct though.

The graphics/textures are looking amazing on the chelsea/Arsenal pic. Wow! just look at the socks, very detailed and crisp.

Ah, you really are as smug and annoying as you appeared to be in your earlier posts.

On topic: the game's looking very good, if it has that "charm factor" when you hit a shot and some nice solidity on tackling and crosses; it could properly be the game of choice this year, and by that I mean convert more hard-core pes fans.

Marking someone down perhaps? Anyway, there's always been a lot of these "nonsense" in still shots from earlier games, gotta see a gameplay video

The painful evidence for the net freaks that it's the same nets as in 08/euro.

And about the clipping hand, stuff like this will happen. They need something like euphoria to prevent this by dynamic animations.

Edit: hehe when Lampy scored terry and cole is up with him in the cut scene. Another classic returning in 09!

True about the shots, but I still wouldn't expect a defender to completely turn his attention away from the ball (ESPECIALLY as the ball is so close) to mark someone. It'd be more likely that he'd be strafing (to use an FPS term) across while keeping the defender in his periphiral vision.

In game maybe, but in cutscenes there's absolutely no excuse at all, the animation studio my wife works at would be majorly embarrassed if they released something like that.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!

Oh well, I'll live.

;-)

Ok, this is my last pickiness of the pics. On the pic below, you can see how poorly made the crest is on the shirt. I have yet to see a futbol game with a nice solid, readable, colorful, and clearly crisp crest on a player's shirt. I guess it must be pretty hard to get right.

Sure, I thought you were talking about an in game picture. I agree about the cutscenes.

I really don't like the cut scenes at all. I rather see everything is kept in game. If you get a card, let the ref run up to you and show it. Same with goal cut scenes, looks shit and breaks the illusion of a real game to me.

Yea can't agree more with this. If they're gonna have closeup cutscens they could've at least implement broadcast-type of views instead of silly cinematic ones, especially those taken from the ground up.

That pic? He's off his line because it's the arena and he moved out to close down the angles, like a good goalkeeper ;)

If you'd read some of the previews you'd know that the arena during loading then changes into the actual goalmouth of the match itself.....

The text 'loading' should have rung a bell too:LOL:

Yeah I agree with that, it's one of the few things PES did right in the latter versions.

Re: FIFA 09 Discussion Thread

The keepers look pretty good, the dives look a lot more realistic.

Also shows a player swinging his hips warming up before the kick-off.

Nice touches.

I was going to post the same thing, I was tired of the goalie animations from before, especially that one where the keeper dives low out to the side and swats the ball away, where the ball usually hits his hand half a meter behind his hand...

No, it's obvious it is a in-game screenshot from the arena while the match you are about to play is loading. Notice it says "Loading" in the top left corner. I don't know why you got all upset about keepers being off their lines during penalties or whatever, but it just seemed to "complainy", plus you didn't bother reading the explanation that was given in response to your complaint, instead you kept complaining about something that was completely wrong.

No hard feelings, but if you are writing in a forum and complaining, i feel that you should atleast read the replies before continuing to complain about something. ;)

No offence or anything, just explaining. :)

It is a screenshot completely without context. If they were all staring at the ball someone would say "Why aren't the defenders paying attention to their surroundings" etc. It's a still shot, he could've turned his head for a split second just to see where his opponents where at, and if the Chelsea players were just standing there hogging the ball he's have plenty of time to look around. Obviously we don't know if the players were standing or moving. We don't know anything, because it is a still shot. So trying to draw conclusions from it is pointless. And it is even more pointless to complain about the conclusions you have arrived to

As for hands through arms, it's going to happen. PES5 was awesome and you'd have heads through chests every once in a while. Hand through arm isn't even worth mentioning. Plus it's a game, people should be used to it by now? :)

In game maybe, but in cutscenes there's absolutely no excuse at all, the animation studio my wife works at would be majorly embarrassed if they released something like that.

Clipping isn't unacceptable in any case, it happens. Why even care? :)

Re: FIFA 09 Discussion Thread

Not to make excuses but this clipping could easily have all been fixed as we know it is old build.

Saying that you just dont know really we shall see at Leipzig anyway as im sure they will have latest build there.
