Re: FIFA 09 Discussion Thread
The keepers look pretty good, the dives look a lot more realistic.
Also shows a player swinging his hips warming up before the kick-off.
Nice touches.
I was going to post the same thing, I was tired of the goalie animations from before, especially that one where the keeper dives low out to the side and swats the ball away, where the ball usually hits his hand half a meter behind his hand...
Ah, you really are as smug and annoying as you appeared to be in your earlier posts.
On topic: the game's looking very good, if it has that "charm factor" when you hit a shot and some nice solidity on tackling and crosses; it could properly be the game of choice this year, and by that I mean convert more hard-core pes fans.
No, it's obvious it is a in-game screenshot from the arena while the match you are about to play is loading. Notice it says "Loading" in the top left corner. I don't know why you got all upset about keepers being off their lines during penalties or whatever, but it just seemed to "complainy", plus you didn't bother reading the explanation that was given in response to your complaint, instead you kept complaining about something that was completely wrong.
No hard feelings, but if you are writing in a forum and complaining, i feel that you should atleast read the replies before continuing to complain about something.
No offence or anything, just explaining.
True about the shots, but I still wouldn't expect a defender to completely turn his attention away from the ball (ESPECIALLY as the ball is so close) to mark someone. It'd be more likely that he'd be strafing (to use an FPS term) across while keeping the defender in his periphiral vision.
It is a screenshot completely without context. If they were all staring at the ball someone would say "Why aren't the defenders paying attention to their surroundings" etc. It's a still shot, he could've turned his head for a split second just to see where his opponents where at, and if the Chelsea players were just standing there hogging the ball he's have plenty of time to look around. Obviously we don't know if the players were standing or moving. We don't know anything, because it is a still shot. So trying to draw conclusions from it is pointless. And it is even more pointless to complain about the conclusions you have arrived to
As for hands through arms, it's going to happen. PES5 was awesome and you'd have heads through chests every once in a while. Hand through arm isn't even worth mentioning. Plus it's a game, people should be used to it by now?
In game maybe, but in cutscenes there's absolutely no excuse at all, the animation studio my wife works at would be majorly embarrassed if they released something like that.
Clipping isn't unacceptable in any case, it happens. Why even care?
