Re: FIFA 09 Discussion Thread
Yeah, looks far better than the ultra close-up that FIFA normally has.

Hehe view's kinda breathtaking at least
Just like the Warhawk Home spaceI can safely assume that PS3 exclusive mode is tied into HOME. When creating a match either normal 1v1 or BAP 10v10 you will meet with your team and opponents in an EA game space that will resemble a dressing room within HOME. From there you can discuss tactics and use an interactive 'whiteboard' to set up plays and formation and then launch directly into the game without any menus apart from settings.
A hundred Zimbabwe dollars $ that this turns out true.
Keane?*cough* Hleb... *cough* Gilberto...

Just like the Warhawk Home space

Damn you took that well I'm still sulking and biting peoples heads of at work over the MM debacle...NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!
Oh well, I'll live.
;-)
Yeah noticed it to, but all shirts in screens are old, and I didn't look at the country shirts yet...why "EA Sport" logo on all shirts ??
Sure, I thought you were talking about an in game picture. I agree about the cutscenes.
I really don't like the cut scenes at all. I rather see everything is kept in game. If you get a card, let the ref run up to you and show it. Same with goal cut scenes, looks shit and breaks the illusion of a real game to me.
This is definitely the right way to go and it is a great concept, because it will finally bring some definition into the close quarters play.
Before you just held A and RT (xbox controls) and sprinted after like a maniac. This would give you the possibility to time the tackle and, more importantly, decide exactly when to tackle, instead of holding A and hopeing the player will do anything at all.
AND, this might be awesome for human vs. human duels, since the defender needs to time the tackle to avoid selling himself, and the attacker can use various tricks into fooling the defender into tackling at the wrong time.
One of the best news I've heard for FIFA09 assuming it's true, it is very valuable if done right. Obviously they could eff it up just the same, but it has lots potential. I just hope that the player will really do a tackle animation as well, such as stab with his foot or something. That way you can get more PES5 situations where you kick someone down or trip them with your leg if your not careful. That will make it more gratifying defending as well, no more running and running until your player decides that he is close enough to the ball to take it with his leg.
