one question for me...
why are there so many people here playing online with xboxes and not with ps3? Is it so bad/laggy the game in ps3 or what else?

PSN has a lot of problems, today is the first day I've managed to play Rock Band online with someone from Evo-Web and I've had the game for almost two months.

Plus, the majority of players have Xbox 360s because they were the first next-gen consoles, so more people have 360s because they didn't want to wait for the PS3.

To illustrate this, I have a friends list of 85 on the 360, 90% of which I play FIFA with. I have a friends list of 15 on the PS3, only 3 of whom play FIFA.

thanks for the answer but you got me into thinking now because i wish to get ps3 for some reasons (blu-ray, some games). But without online players it would be very risky for me to buy a ps3.


Anyone who experienced both consoles for online fifa gaming, plz tell me the difference, if any.

I'm really struggling to create chances on this.
I can keep the ball well but I can't make a killer ball or score from long range. I don't like the way your players wait for the ball to come to them while the defenders can just come in and nick it either.
I also suck at defending :(.

I will keep trying and hopefully improve, i'm not sure if I should try to get used to manual through passing or keep it assisted.

Anyway, I said I wouldn't get the Euro 2008 demo but it was just too tempting :-pp I'm downloading it now.

The difference is it's a lot harder to play your friends, as you will most likely experience connection errors. But it is fine for playing normal matches (ranked and unranked against strangers) - you just have to wait a tad longer because there's more players on the 360 than the PS3. But that's the only difference, in my experience.

By the way Rob, manual passing is way too hard and automatic is for sissies - put everything on semi!

If you weren't unwarrantying your 360s and you had the balls to play online, you'd soon see how hard manual passing is against real men... *Flexes imaginary muscles*

@ Jack - Through passing and lob pass only have two options - Assisted or manual, I have them both on assisted at the moment and every single chipped through ball I try goes too far and through to the keeper and when I tried it on manual it was very hard :(.

Rob, passing on FIFA can be semi, manual or assisted, because mine is on semi!

Yeah, I have passing on semi, but lob pass and through pass only let you choose manual or assisted.

I have been playing better and scoring more goals recently, I think I was trying to play in too much of a PES style, going forwards and holding the sprint button down all game.

I played the JPT Final at Wembley in Be A Pro mode earlier! I was G.Jones, a striker from Grimsby, and we won 2-1 and I got both our goals! :DD Got a match rating of 88. Which earned me 4,500 fan shop points, which gave me enough to buy the Lyon 3rd kit.

So now I have just started a Champions League with Lyon on Legendary difficulty! First match was Rangers 0-0 Lyon. They were all over me first half, so I went to a 4-4-2 diamond and got the ball to stick up front more, having 2 strikers seemed to work. Fred and Benzema played well off each other. I just checked the other results from matchday 1 and Stuttgart beat Barcelona 1-0 :SHOCK:. Which means the group is now very open. Can't really afford to lose more than 1 game I think, if I am going to qualify.

Oh yea, the final of my Champions League will be at the Emirates Stadium :)).

It's Create a Tournament! I've put all the teams in their proper groups from this seasons champions league :)).

Remember that when you are passing you have to go to balls direction with player who is getting the pass. You can get it and they won't be standing if you are doing the sprinting. It's not automated.

The trick to getting free kicks is using the curve properly. its very different to pro evo and fiddly, but after a few practice shots you get it. You have to press the direction you want to curve it IMMEDIATELY after you press the shoot button and before you release it. You usually should obviously curl it away from the keeper, but also you should put dip on it, so basically if i had a free kick from teh left side of the box you how UP-LEFT on the analogue stick (diagonal up-left) that gets you curve and dip, basically you let go at about 2 bars with the power bar, with a free kick specialist you should score a bunch of goals this way :)

On another note Euro 2008 is looking really good, they've fixed almost all my biggest issues with the game, it would be hard to resist buying even with the lack of teams. hats off to ea from what I've seen so far :)

Thanks for that, it helped me a lot :).

I just won the first ranked match I played 1-0! :D Newcastle (me) v Everton. I just managed to sneak a goal but the last 10 minutes were tense when he hit the bar.
