FC Barcelona Thread

I read a comment on Marca about how other Spanish clubs should do how they did in Scotland, fielding their 16 year olds against the top two teams to get the point across. Did this really happen in Scotland?

About La Liga, it is getting "boring" and unfair. Its great to watch Real and Barças quality, but the only real exciting matches are when they play each other or CL matches against other top sides.

It is very obvious that in the other top leagues, lower sides have a much greater chance of stealing points from the top teams than in Spain.

I blame the horrible discrepancy in TV rights money. Barca/Real get far too much compared to the rest of the league.

Airjorca, do you realy think that the matches between Barcelona and Real Madrid are exciting? On second thought they are exciting, but mostly for all the wrong reasons (and this due to Mourinho).

atletico madrid win more € for Tv that villarreal.

and villarreal is better team than atletico..

money no is problem..

i repeat, barça/madrid in premier, will win all.

who is better?? atletico or arsenal?
valencia or borusia? villarreal or benfica?
sevilla or liverpool?
atletico or liverpool? valencia or juventus? villarreal or roma?

in spain are greats teams....atletico, villarreal, athletic bilbao, sevilla, valenica...

in premier the best in 6 year are chelsea and manchester. in spain barça and madrid....but..the level of barça/madrid is....

is my opinion...in this moment, barça or madrid win all leagues..with respect..i don't want dirtube

the rest of Liga..sociedad,betis,granada...the problem is that they know that will lose...and few times fighting with barça/madrid for win

sorry for my english..

"and villarreal is better team than atletico.."

Ok, I'm not here to quarrel with you... My point is that I'm talking about teams now, not in the past... You can't say one team is better than the other before they compete with each other... I like Atleti more and it hurts when you state that they are weaker team than Villarreal. This year Villarreal lost Cazorla and Capdevilla, and I can't say they have quality replacements for them.

oh! yes yes, this year atletico is stronger than villa of course..
i agree.

i talk about anothers years...atletico has more money than villareal...but villarreal is better position...

this year..i don't know.

You use false arguments.
My point was not about Atletico versus Villareal. Of course Villareal were better because the difference in money is not that big.
I was talking about Real-Barca versus the rest of the Primera division. The difference in amount of money is HUGE...really huge. As long as this gap isn't closed, the Primera Division will be a 2 horse race...Now everybody is talkiing about what great coaches Guardiola and Cruijff are (or were). I love both, but i would like to see them with a team like Anderlecht or Twente...

I talk about Barça/Madrid rest of europe.

if they are the best...is normal that win his leagues...

Yeah, I wasn't thinking properly so early in the morning. :)

I'll change that to "they could be very exciting matches", if both teams only cared about playing football and nothing else...

Nothing is going to change gerd. Barcelona and Real will keep trashing every opponent they face until they meet each other. This season they have a lesser chance of losing than last year. The gap is getting bigger by each of them spending at least 50mill every market. I don't know how other La Liga teams can take this. Some presidents are furious already.

They're not happy about it.

Someone like Del Nido has already spoken much publicly about his frustrations.

Indeed. The actual quote was "Is there a fan out there who doesn’t say that the league is prostituted, altered and corrupted?”.

puyol come back!

is ok and he go to San Sebastian..

WELCOME CAPTAIN!!!

Crazy..xD

Good match by Sociedad. Pep made a mistake by keeping Messi, Villa, Iniesta, Puyol on the bench. IMO the match against Sociedad was more important than the Milan match.

Hope Sanchez isn't out too long.

Sociedad were not helped by the ref. IMO Dani Alves should have had a red card for that first tackle...horrible. He didn't even get a yellow.

Oh and i hope that Villa can take revenge for his mistake...these things happen to the best.

It was almost as if Barca were told to play rubbish and give Sociedad a chance in the second half. The difference in performance between the two halves was really odd. Couple that with Villa's ridiculous back pass...

Seems a bit funny given all the bleating over the disparity in quality between the top two and everyone else lately.

Made a nice change for you to drop points (in the interests of a title race) but I've no doubt you'll end up battering Milan as a reaction to this.

Really looking forward to the game tomorrow. Sorry Pique will not get to see Ibra but should be a good match. I am expecting a win for Barcelona but I want to see how Milan can handle the game.

Would be interesting to see Milan against Barcelona without Ibrahimovic. As far as I remember they didn't bad in matches without him last year.

The Real Sociedad match was EXACTLY like the one last season, instead we drew and didn't loose. But I was furious with the team. After being 0-2, they thought the match was won and didn't attack. Then they simply tried to waste time with possession and that's not the way to win. Keeping possession is a deadly weapon when there's a purpose to the possession, and the purpose is to end up shooting at goal or at least posing a threat to your opponent.

They wasted the whole 2nd half without the intention of scoring, and I'm very glad it didn't work. That shows that the gap between teams is not as big as people (and this time the players themselves) think and specially shows that you have to be 100% focused in the game to win.

To me Villa back pass is an accident, but drawing this game is not an accident, it's the logical conclusion to a very bad attittude by the team and a warning to players that are too used to win and might be accomodated.

Winners like Mascherano and Messi should be in the pitch always. We need competitive animals in the pitch. Just the only thing I love of Mourinho, he turns his players into competitive beasts. We lack a little of that when we have 80% possession but don't finnish the opponent. I would dare to say that all the matches that we have drawn or lost in the last 2 seasons were only a matter of attittude.

A shame the Alexis injury. 2 months... and being a muscular injury, probably 3 to be really match-fit again. He was being great and we needed a different player upfront. He will be greatly missed.

I'm eager to the match against Milan. A big team with great players that will test our mentality. I only wish that if we are having a good result, they don't lower a gear as they did against Arsenal and Inter away last 2 seasons, and try to dominate by creating chances, not only having sterile possession.

Thiago is a great player, but still lacks to be constant and needs to improve his decision-making to truly dominate the midfield. He's young and can do it.

@ drekkard I totally agree with you that team was lacking focus and will to finish opponent in 2nd half so that cost them result in the end...but hey some people said that they were furious after this match I was too but seems like we are to much used to success of Barca...:) I think we will show our best against Milan...

good point, but one coach in football is myth. there is other people around a coach who work as hard as the main coach and in case of Barcelona or United for example, it took years to build a generation that will have success..

all in all Guardiola didn´t had to do a lot, since this guys could play and win even without him on bench... this is the style he has learned the kids in B team before and a style Riijkard applyed to Barca with his arrival and buying Davids to make free space for Ronaldinho..the rest is history..

While in other side there is coaches who build from beginning each season...

what u say is certainly true. it's not just about guardiola, it's about the blaugrana philosophy... but having said that, guardiola did leave a huge mark on this team. a very personal mark.

i mean u mentioned rijkaard, but actually this barça team and its football have absolutely nothing in common with frank's barça. rijkaard's barçelona was a great team... and (some times) they also played some great football... but that football was completely different from guardiola's football.
infact i would even dare to say rijkaard has been the least "barçelonista" of all the coaches the blaugrana had in the last 20 years (probably along with ferrer and robson).

and when u consider the messy situation rijkard left in barçelona when guardiola took the job.... well i really wouldn't say that "guardiola didn't have a lot to do" to bring barçelona where they are right now :))

actually i didn´t meant that Guardiola has no credit for how thist team playes, in fact i think the oposite, but in a long term scale... you see this football was Guardiola teaching in Barca B, so this players are used to this system from La Masia and know how to play it 100%.. if Barca had this situation like Mourinho with Guardiola.. i think they would continue winning anyway :D couse they don´t need to many directions from coach at this point.. they have learned it and know each other 100%, that´s why Sanchez came to the team as if he was playing there long, also Cesc..
