FC Barcelona Thread

I can only speak on some of the matches I saw, but last year vs Shakhtar (in the 5-1) Barca crowded the ref to get Razvan Rat and Jaroslav Rakitsky booked. Both the cards were hardly even fouls, let alone yellow cards, but once again the crowding of the ref (again Valdez went on one of his "crusades") contributed to the yellow.

Actually in the Ukrainian (well Russian-Ukrainian) news this "gamesmanship" was talked about, both Lucescu and Yuri Semin (basically the two best coaches alive to have worked in Ukraine) said it was a facet of Barcelona's play they noticed more than other teams. Lucescu said something like before the game he warned his players that any tackle and Barca will try and get them booked.

Personally I think some of the diving/carding strategy is down to Guardiola, simply because it didn't seem to happen anything like as much under Rijkaard. Yes there are some different players there now, but I don't remember the likes of Valdez, Pujol and Messi doing all the card gestures, running to the ref, diving etc back then. I'm not saying it's all Guardiola's idea, but I think he has no problem with these antics.

I can kinda see that.

Pinto is worse one though. He always ends up right in the middle of every fight/scuffle!

He's worse than Victor Valdes and wants even more attention. At least Victor is very good these days but Pinto must be getting bored warming up the bench because every chance he gets, he tries to put himself in spotlight.

He's a try hard and it's real obvious to see.

One theory I've seen bandied about is that under Rijkaard, Barca were often kicked off the park, particularly in away games and that maybe it's Guardiola's way of exploiting when the opposition take a physical approach against his side.

hahahahahaahahahahahaha

Is it me for every tackle regardless the side the coach, bench, staff runs out to the touchline  every time! Very overwhelming for a ref me think.

They tried to out-do Mourinho's Inter, but just couldn't handle the pressure. They got Thiago Motta unfairly sent off but still couldn't do it.

You want some examples? In the 87th minute or so, play has to stop because poor Pedro has hurt his hand. He is 2 yards from the touchline. The ref tells him to move out of bounds to retrieve treatment, and he lays back down. HOLDING HIS HAND. He is, of course, fine to continue shortly afterwards.

Well, Pedro had a sprained wrist and had to be subbed the next play. And yes he wasted time, blatantly. But are you trying to imply that 99% of the teams don't do it? You're winning a final 3-2 in the 87th minute, all the teams of the world waste time, absolutely all of them.

And I hate it! I want more playing time for my money. You would be scandalized at how teams waste time against us int he 1st minute of the game.

I remember well the Inter match people talks about here... 40 minutes of effective play there were in that match. And in the 20th minute Maicon was "hurt" outside of the pitch. He crawled inside the pitch and lied to the floor to stop the match. He resumed playing perfectly well until the end...

I mean, I hate all the cheating and not sportive attittude, but some people is picking very anecdotic things that all teams do, and the fun thing is that precisely 90% of the teams we play against waste time, interrupt the game, feign injuries and do all that for the whole match.

I watch Premier, Bundesliga and Serie A and practically all this is are done by ALL the teams I watch, no exception.

Tough as I wrote in the Madrid thread, I agree that Barcelona players, specifically against very physical teams, fell down quicker. Most of the times the foul/contact exists, and sometimes some specific players fall at the slightest contact. I don't like it as I have stated many times, but it's something that has happened seldomly and trying to imply there's a Guardiola order behind it I think is presuming too much. Xavi and Iniesta have been playing like that all their life, and were exactly like that during Rijkaard era.

It's mostly Alves and Busquets the ones who make it stink, in my oppinion. And Pinto... don't get me started on that prick...

You think this criminal tackle shouldn't imply any ban?
I wonder what kind of football do you like then. It wasn't a mistimed tackle. The ball was not at Cesc's knee. It was meant to harm the player. No discussion there.

where did i once say that it shouldn't imply a ban? :TTTH:
i like FOOTBALL, u provide bad arguement and don't understand fully what football is. theres more to football than attacking aspects, defending is as equal to skill as passing/dribbling, i admit it was a bad tackle and i think marcelo just had a crazy moments. but if this was did in any other match, there is no way would be as a big of topic and dragged out aslong, look at the tackle evans did on drogba, next day no one was talking about it. i dislike media and alot of things aspects of this game, imo barca aren't any better than madrid as barca try do little things sneaky, i don't see anyone really talking about what villa did or anything, and what ur saying to reply to what i wrote is an actual joke mate, of course its a bad tackle but the way everyone reacted on bench/pitch was over the top. end of discussion :TTTH:

Mourinho should be sacked by Real Madrid ASAP.

not becouse he is bad coach, but becouse he is destroying Real image as mentioned somewhere before..

what a shame he really is ,
i always hate him and i will always hate , and im proud i never like ,
i like Real but this guy its a real shame for all team , he dont need to susspend he need to be send off from team , he need to go in hospital the guy its sick this is sure !

and Fifa gave him the best coach award :CONFUSE:!

Well, that's because he is (or was) the best coach in the World. You can question his personal values (at least in the field, outside it he is a very nice person) but you can't doubt his coaching qualities.

there's no kicking or anything there. he is not that cruel to kick a player (who is completely innocent) in the head and if he'd have done that, most probably he'd end up with a badly bruised cheek and a number of broken teeth. he just sees the Barça bench rising and reacts to that. then a guy there keeps him just when he's about to pass close to Fabregas (f'n because he's not able to pass inside of a human) and he immediately pulls his foot not to kick him accidentally. for fuck's sake he's no killer, he's just a bad boy who loves mind games. you can hate anyone but that doesn't necessarily mean that you can do injustice about him. fifa gave him best coach award, because he was the best coach, who won tough achievements then, simple as that.

are you blind or sth like that, can't you see the intention Mourinho had but that guy pulled him so he missed Cesc, he is shame for world of football, and Marcelo and Pepe should try to fight in UFC i think that's more of their profession...As Xavi said this is the picture of Real Madrid

Mourinho doesn't even look at the ground. His direction is just towards the upcoming Barça bench. I've said what I need to say anyway. Btw, watch your language.

mourinho try kick the cesc head...

imo it means NOTHING! when you look to crucify you will surely find even if it`s not seen. I see Mourinho walking and held back...how many walk without lifting your leg. My gosh some in here are so easy! No bird eye view to show distance. This is barca fans crying about and want Mourinho out!!of what I have no idea  Pigue "Mou is bad for La Liga" By far the Most cowardliness words, they took getting players booked to a new low and now, players attempting to get managers fired. Maybe, Mou did the same to a ref so ...what you do to others may come back to you.

This is surely the season of the Witch! and Mourinho is his nameO... Mourinho might be frustrated and finding a weak spot in penetrating Barcelona. Make no mistake about, he is penetrating this wall. I`m starting to admire him in a strange way I see a father that stirs up and makes him the focus and not the team. I rather take the fall and do jail time and let my son go free. It sounds daft to most , but Mourinho is dedicated to his players. As long as he is contracted to the club :P

No one will talk about RM only Mourinho if this doesn`t prove how clever it might prove how easy the world turns by emotions. The season of the Witch...
Season of the witch
