FC Barcelona Thread

That's what Mourinho did by the way:
YouTube - mourinho mete el dedo en el ojo a tito vilanova supercopa 17-8-2011

Putting the finger on the eye of Tito Vilanova. And in the press conference denying it. Pathetic clown.

Marcelo should be banned for some matches. He stepped on Messi 10 mins before, too. He does one or two aggresions on average. And Mourinho should be banned too. If Villa slapped Ozil, he should be banned too.

But it's pathetic the way Madrid players enter in "killing mode" when they loose. Just pathetic. Mourinho is destroying the image of Real Madrid. I wonder what will happen if he continues to loose. How much shame can endure Florentino? And in the press conference he talked again about the referees. This guy only knows how to create violence. Sorry but this just can't be. This guy is a destroyer, because of idiots like him there are conflicts everywhere. If I were the FEF, I would automatically put him out of the benches for some time.

We lacked a lot of physical form, but we won anyway. Basically because we have the best player ever. Messi is the biggest thing I've ever witnessed.
Now I hope that the player's strike in Spain allows us to really get in shape, because we're obviously far from it.

Greetings to Guardiola. An example of education and talent, one of th best guys I've seen at this level of competition. And he wins without having to do the clown show. Thanks Pep. Thanks. Thanks. Thanks.

Instead of apologizing, you should think twice before writing. It's not the first time, nor the secondth, nor the third. You should have learned by now. Yet you always end up the same. Discouraging.

2 games thought and more football played in it that the whole Premier League came up with over the weekend. Even the ex-pro's saw it that way who thought it was a poor start.

Sorry, La Liga is fare better to watch than what you get in the EPL.

FD

Clasico are there for a reason  look at the tables at the end 2 horse race with 3rd n 4th with 20 pts apart .

Why should they, you don´t know his age.. if he is young, he will grow from it, if not, he should be more wise and should be responsible alone for his actions.. why should other people take the blame? :)

cesc fabregas, 6 years without tittles

15 minutes in barça, 1 tittle...

it's joke..

hmm i´m not laughing, couse Cesc Fabregas has nothing to do with Barca winning this cup.. So far his contribution to Barca succes is 15 minutes of his play..

i guess you should be more respectfull to other teams, couse in future it might be other teams dominate again.. you probably don´t remember years when Barca was the second team in spain do you? ;)

he looses respect this way very fast.. i admired his work with inter, but in sport and life you should have respect to everyone, if you want to be respected yourself imo...

this way he makes fool out of himself..

Real did mistake many times, but hire him and replace Pellegrini, or even Del Bosque was the bigest. They are paying for it..

oh and their president knows nothing about football.

If Villa slapped Ozil, he should be banned too.

Apparently Ozil stepped Cesc while he was on the floor then Villa punched him. Pathetic. This is the image that some violent people are interested to give to the world? Ban them all 10 matches: Mourinho, Marcelo, Ozil, Villa. The federation should act and put them an exemplar punishment because they are damaging the sport.

this is the problem in current football, people worry more about the events than actual football, end of day, alot the players overreacted and the media will blow this up, when it wasn't even that bad, milan derbys or old firms have worse than this 9/10 times. its just sadly part of modern football and i think its good and bad for the spart, ok it was a bad tackle but if we keep trying to blow up a mistimed tackle and put harsher punishments, we're going to end up with a world of football, as soon as u slide, instant booking. just my opinion.

You think this criminal tackle shouldn't imply any ban?
I wonder what kind of football do you like then. It wasn't a mistimed tackle. The ball was not at Cesc's knee. It was meant to harm the player. No discussion there.

Why is Cesc getting stomp on :CONFUSE: I hope that wasn`t the case..the most noblest and class player on the pitch...No play acting or diving from Fabregas, but he`ll spit on you wearing a leather jacket!

Also, my respect for Morinho has gone down a lot. forget wishing he was manager of arsenal. scum.

Poor cesc. I am still an avid fan of his and hate to see dickheads trying to break his leg. fucking pathetic from RM.

i cant believe im defending Barcelona, who i feel are scum themselves for the way they got cesc but RM are far worse

I agree, Mourinho disgrace display again. Marcelo was worse than Pepe, terrible scissors at last minute.

But what i did not like most - Barca was very soft, they didnt play like a men.. and i hate Real for that. They make Barca look more theatrical. I think its Pep strategy to cry more when tackled, just like Mourinhos super aggression. I hate that Mourinho alone turned Classicos into a every year brawl at end of the game... Real is not looking like ''King club'' anymore...

Oh and Messi is from another planet.. 2 official games 3 goals + 1 pass, against Real Madrid not some low level club.. amazing start, he is not even 100% fit yet!!!

what a looser, I don't know what you want to say with this stupid picture, but if you look closer you will see that Fagan is behind Fabregas, what spitting are you talking about??

p.s. I hope that Retardinho will get 10 games ban for his 'behaviour' last night!

fab should never play in that game , no where near fit. He only played at Arsenal day 4-5 a side only. This tell me He is very important to this side being the abuelo was on the board bit I predict he`

I agree with all of this.

I play football at a not great level, Sunday pub league stuff. Every now and then you come up against opponents who basically believe football is non-contact. And it's a nightmare to play against them. They go down with every touch, they yell theatrically when you go shoulder to shoulder they waste time when they can - I'm a pretty mellow player but even I get roiled up by that.

And that's what Barca have become, in the classicos anyway (they were great in the CL final so it's not always the case). Last night's match might as well have been non-contact from Barca's point of view. There was literally not a tackle that didn't result in a Barca player on teh ground, holding some body part and their face. Even perfectly good challenges. Even challenges when they didn't touch the Barca player.

My honest opinion is that Pep realised Barca isn't quite fit enough yet this season, and given the intensity of the way they play - he told them to do this to save as much energy as possible. But it ruined the football for me. How can you play against a team that press like that and it must be said - Barca foul a lot in those first few seconds that the press - but if you do the same they go down demanding cards and wasting 3 minutes at a time. You can't play against that. It would drive any professional nuts.

It just disappoints me. Barca are as good a sporting team as I've ever seen. The Bulls of the early 90's, Cowboys of the same time. That Brazil team. But Pep's Barca are so theatrical I'm embarrassed to try and introduce people who don't watch football to them. And that's a shame because they are genuinely magical footballers.

Beachryan, I disagree quite a bit. I saw a lot of Madrid players goind down all the time as well, and of course not all contact had a Barcelona player in the ground, that's simply a lie. And some of the tackles in the match were hard. Could you compile a video with the tackles that were minimal contact and had a Barcelona player in the ground simulating an injury, please? Just to have some facts about what we are talking here.

I think, also, that you like to talk generically about it when that's something that has happened only to a certain level in certain specific matches, all of them with Mourinho in front. Maybe Madrid's violence has some part in it?
I don't deny that some players like to exagerate or dive (some Madrid players did as well), and I don't like it at all. But a lot of people uses this to quickly criticise all the team. And talking like that about Pep is quite laughable. Do you really think he says to his players to waste time and dive? So Barcelona is now the only team that wastes time when winning in a final? Don't be so naive, please. I don't like time wasters, but ALL the teams in the world do it in competitions.

Plus, 95% of matches Barcelona plays during the season have nothing to do with the classicos. How many other Barcelona matches have you seen last season? Just for curiosity. Do you think the same for the majority of matches you watched?

Drekkard - obviously I expect you to defend your team, and that's completely fine.

I've seen Barca many times - and you're absolutely right - it's a Classico thing. Or rather, it's a 'when things are super hot and maybe not going well' thing. I'd say 80% of the time Barca don't do any more diving and exagerrating then the rest of la liga. But in certain matches, and all the classico's are definitely those, they make a mockery of sportsmanship.

I don't condone Madrid's action either. They were terrible. While I don't think Pepe's yellow in the first match was that bad (typical Alves 'my world is over' reaction to a fairly normal foul), he should have been off for the elbow to Pique. As should Marcelo for kicking Messi. Madrid are nasty, Mourinho inspired cretins.

I just wish Barca would stand up to it.

You want some examples? In the 87th minute or so, play has to stop because poor Pedro has hurt his hand. He is 2 yards from the touchline. The ref tells him to move out of bounds to retrieve treatment, and he lays back down. HOLDING HIS HAND. He is, of course, fine to continue shortly afterwards.

Similarly, around the same time, Carvalho goes around a striker (Adriano maybe?) takes the ball clean as you like and pokes it back into midfield. He does catch the player with his hip as he finishes the tackle - perfectly normal in a football game. The Barca player is down, holding his face, Messi is running at the ref, the game goes on - rightly - and wow presto, an attacking chance comes and the player is up off his feet and ready to contribute.

David Villa did a similar thing last season and actually scored in a Classico. Went down feigning injury, sobbing into the pitch. Boos all around as MAdrid don't play the ball out and then hey presto he's up and and scoring. Guess he didn't need the treatment after all.

It's not just Barca at all. I'm not accusing you of being worse than Madrid. I don't think morality need exist as comparison. There's no need for Barca to be so petty. They can beat anyone with their football, no need to be so into anti-football in these big matches.

Is it me for every tackle regardless the side the coach, bench, staff runs out to the touchline  every time! Very overwhelming for a ref me think.
