FC Barcelona Thread

I would like to see the unsettled Higuain at the Nou Camp.

In conjunction with Villa and that midfield behind them the movement and threat would be exhilarating.

Ibrahimovic unsurprisingly was a bad flop.

Plenty of young talent as well to look at Bartra and Muniesa for instance. Well done to La Masia and it's coaches.

Champions! With an inmense Touré that did an impressive last match! When this man is fit and Pep puts him in, he's always impressive. And great Messi.

About Messi: he's scored 47 goals this season (34 in the league). The same amount of goals that Ronaldo scored years ago. It's a brutal record, mainly because he's not the striker, but also because only 2 of those goals were on penalty. And because he added 14 assists this season. So, make the numbers.... this guy is from another universe. Messi is god for us!

Great for Pep and for our filosophy of having lots of homegrown players mixed with great players from abroad. Laporta is also a key of all that success. And because of the humble nature of all the people at the club. That makes it better.

Congrats to Madrid for a tough fight and making things so difficult. Success is always sweeter when you have a great opponent.

By the way, if they sack Pellegrini, they're doing a big big mistake.

Now it's official: congrats Barça!

While you were playing I was at Estádio do Jamor watching the Portuguese Cup Final between FC Porto and Chaves. I was supporting Chaves as is the team of my father's town. I had a Chaves scarf, the colors are blue, red and yellow, just like Barça, so a spanish car passed me and the girl who was inside started looking at me thinking I was culé.

You are cule, simply don't recognize it! With time you'll get out of the closet!

By the way, to remember our discussions abiout referees in Spain... Barcelona has been the team with most possession time. The team that spent most time in the opponent area. And how many penalties we had in the WHOLE season?

Guess how many...

Only 1.

That speaks quite a lot about what happened in many many matches.

Yes they are incredible statistics drekkard and he is still only 23. Barca must expand the squad to cope with all their commitments. At times they did look a little tired towards the end of the season.

Mascherano has expressed a desire to go to the Nou Camp again apparently.

Pellegrini was a dead man walking when Perez won the election as were Calderon's signings.

Pellegrini is a very good coach and gentleman. Hope the AFA get's him as coach with Tocalli as assistant after the WC disaster.

Congrats to Barca and yes those are great statistics and yes Messi is god and yes Yaya Toure r0cks! I can't understand why or how Barca and Pep Guardiola are willing to let him go! It seems like he might be on his way out and that's a huge mistake!

Oh and yes, while that's a huge mistake, it won't be as big as stupid Real sacking Pellegrini! That'd be the dumbest thing! As he also r0cks!

This Barcelona side is unbelievable with the home-grown talent and not just for the sake of it but their better than the rest on top!

Possibly for the future?
--------Valdes------------
?-----Pique--Puyol------?
-------Busquets---------
----Xavi-----Fabregas----
-Messi----Bojan-----Iniesta-

If Cesc comes, I don't know if it can be considered a homegrown player, but I think he can, so you can add him there.

There are many good youngsters already coming up: Muniesa and Fontas seem to be good defenders, Marc Bartra is good left back, and special consideration to Jonatan Dos Santos who is a pretty good midfielder. Then there's the gem: Thiago Alcántara, son of Mazinho (a good player in the past), Thiago is a player very similar to Deco and is the most brilliant of them all.

So yes, we've got quite a good team of homegrown players!

fabregas is consider home grown at Arsenal under the UEFA law. :P you must be talking about the so called DNA factor.

I always buy Thiago on FM2010 so he must be good in real life! :D

He was in Barcelona as many years as he's been at Arsenal, so let's call it a dubious one!

Here they speculate with Toure entering into the Cesc negotiations. If Toure has to go to Arsenal to bring Cesc here, I would prefer to keep Toure and sign another player!

well, tbh I would HATE barca very dearly if cecs left in the summer, but I will admire them from afar...btw congrats on the title.

I don`t rate toure if he was so great why isn`t he in the starting XI .

He's phenomenal. That's because Pep for some reason has a huge liking for Sergio Busquets which is understandable as he is a young talented player but to have him AHEAD of Yaya, is weird as he's not as good. At least not yet.

p.s. Yaya was a 1st-teamer since he joined including last year where Barca did it all and this season is the first one where he's not been as important a figure and even then, he's helped in his own way when he has had playing time like yesterday.

p.s. Kolo always said, his brother is a much better player even before Yaya was at Monaco! Nowadays I can clearly see what he's saying. He wasn't bull$hitting.

@drekard, I understand. Keeping Yaya is in my opinion also more important than acquiring Fabregas. Now if both could happen, that would be great.

that`s it though skillz mean f- all if the gaffer favors 1 over the other. If his contribution is minimal and they lost 1 match in league , what value can he process ?

yeah he did play well. Almost like make yourself valuable son versus a shit team ( in the US we call that painting shop). I saw barca playing w/o breaking too much of a stride even then they looked tire.

it`s not like you can compare them playing different position on a very different league. In the PL you will see smaller clubs go in hard and fast , bulling comes to mind, intimidation at best and I notice not too many rough stuff happens (La Liga) or maybe I`m naive to those facts.

No, Xavi and Iniesta always play in the middle of the park unless one of them is injured.

I'll be a very happy man if Yaya signs for us. Wenger seems to want that stability in midfield, and Yaya could complement Song very nicely.

Congratulations to Barcelona.
I'm as happy that Barcelona won it as i'm happy that Real didn't.
I don't think that it's good for football if a Perez team wins a lot.

Yaya is for me one of the most underrated players in the world. Just because he has Iniesta + Xavi in front of him. But its quite evident that when Busquets plays and when Yaya plays, the team behaves differently. Yaya gives the team another kind of peace and security that Sergio doesn't, specially when he thinks hes Iniesta and tries to do some slaloms, or even when his brain freezes and he makes a stupid pass/loses the possession of the ball.
Come to think of it and Yaya is certainly among the top5 DMFs in the world atm. He has the height, the head to think the game, the passing skills, the positioning, the marking aspect and is a nature force when he is playing (no? just check that last game against Valladolid).

Im just like drekkard, if Cesc and Yaya are somehow linked and in the process we lose the later, i would rated not have Cesc at all. Yaya is just too good to lose him. It would be somehow like Real Madrid when they lost Makelele. Its just stupid.

seems like fab wanna to go. all over the news saying he wanna go back to you lot. gutted. theirs next season over for fucksakes.

you just know wenger won't replace fab plus add re-informant.

I truly wish wenger was sacked last season. his turning arsenal into a feeder club

Wouldnt it be funny if all that time Wenger had been gathering all that money together and has built up £200million worth to spend on a whole new team like Chelsea or Man City?

Yep, Villa is signed. I would have liked them to sign him last year alongside Ibra. I'm one of the few that still likes Ibra. He did an impressive first round of the league with 13 goals and 6 assists. Not many players can do that.

In the secondth round of the league, he was weaker and scored and assisted less, but he also was injured twice and didn't manage to regain confidence. But, if you look at his numbers, there's an impressive statistic: his goals decide important and difficult matches. Not as much as Messi does, that's obvious and natural, but he's done a terrific job in a lot of matches we have won by narrow numbers. People tends to forget this.

Now, the problem of Ibra was of style of play, and I think he could play much better with Villa at his side. They are two different profiles of striker, and I think a winner team needs one of each style to have a plan B when plan A fails, something we didn't have this season.

Villa will fit like a glove I presume, ridiculous how good a front three of
"Pedro-Villa-Messi" will be.

I think Zlatan will be sold, I think Italy or England will be most likely with City as favourates.

You guys might as well use Ibra for a possible move for Fabregas.

City have the most money and have Mancini his ex coach so I'd wager them trying to sign him.

thought villa is taking Henry`s spot since he favors a move to MLS. Iba will partner up well w/ Villa I suppose
