FC Barcelona Thread

Considering the second yellow was to the Villarreal player who was pushing him out of the fiel, I don't see waht's wrong. What are your sources for news, dude?

PS: One step closer to the title after beating Tenerife. The important match is this saturday against Sevilla. Everything is decided there.

Yes, initially that was the impression, but the referee already told in the pitch at that very moment that the yellow was for the villareal player. I know he acted strange, but come on, THIS TIME Busquets did absolutely nothing to earn that yellow, while the Villarreal player was pushing him and holding him, which is not allowed. So, why the hell the yellow should be for him?

There's no reason to blame Busquets for doing nothing (even though I also blame everything bad on him, hehe). The referee could have been more clear, but he told evereyone in the pitch the yellow was for Llorente, so there's nothing else there!

I know you like to find anything against Barcelona all the time, it's in your avatar to do so :P, but give them a break. I welcome you to post the video of Mourinho slapping Guardiola from behind when Motta was sent off (which puts Mou at the same level of Busquets to me) and saying stupid things to him.

Oh man, you think I'm always against Barça. It's not the question, I've just found hilarious how a ref shows yellow card twice and the guy remais at the pitch. I would find hilarious if was a Benfica, Madrid, Spurs or a Leixões player, no matter who's playing. Plus, I were biased by the portuguese TV commentator. Dude, the guy on TV didn't stop saying "oh incredible, unbelievable, etc".

I am a critic by nature. Go to Madrid thread and see me always blaming Pellegrini and Madrid's board. It's nothing against you or against your club, trust me (ok, I must admit, I don't like Barça :P).

About the avatar, well, I think Mou is the best coach in the world and the way he beat Chelsea and Barça when people thought Inter were underdogs, was incredible. Kudos to him. I have Mou in the avatar but I could have had Pep either. Go read a few pages back and see me defending and giving him the credits for his job at Barça. Anyway, I will put some Benfica pic in my avatar (c'mon Benfica! We just need 1 point to win the title!) and then maybe a girl pic as always (I think I will chose Inês Gonçalves, the girl who presents Champions League highlights in RTP :...).

I always heard Barca had good chemistry between their players.

Well, at least they hint things. It could be worse, imagine them kissing each other in the stadium, surrounded by fans...

Apparently Ibra's won the league title in the country he's playing in every season since 2003. :CONFUSE:

Although Juve's were obviously taken off them but that should be a good omen for Barca fans.

Yep, we won Sevilla and are only one step away to win the title. We have it in our hands. We only have to win Valladolid at home next week. We deserve it, really, but Madrid has been an incredible opponent and matches must be played, so we should be humble and fight the last 90 minutes for victory. Great match today by all the homegrwon players and Alves. We should have won by 4 or 5 goals, but we got suddenly distracted and conceded 2 goals in 1 minute to end up 2-3 winning.

We're missing an extra dose of attittude in the pitch. That's the only difference from last year, but it means we play fantastic football for 60 minutes and end up conceding too much when we think it's done. Obviously, things are done when the referee whistles, not before. Let's see if we can celebrate in the Camp Nou. It will be crowded and with a fantastic atmosphere!

It's not football related, but... what the hell. We're again winners of the European Cup of basketball! We are near to do the treble this year, simply we changed the sport in which we'll treble!

Congrats to the boysa that played out of this world, with Navarro (a homegrown player, just like Messi, Xavi, etc...) being chosen MVP of the tournament and the final.

Our club is definitely doing things well. For all the people criticizing Laporta (I don't like him as a human being, mind that), he must surely be the most succesful president of a club ever. What he has achieved in 7 years in all the sports of our club is simply staggering. And he also kicked ultras out of the stadium and turned our club the only one that pays for putting a logo in the shirt (unicef). And that's the way they have achieved it, with all the trainers from inside the club, with homegrown players leading all the teams... simply great! It feels great.

I like basket a lot and I must say Barça are incredible this season. Navarro "La Bomba", Ricky Rubio and Mickeal are NBA players in my opinion (I'm really excited to see Ricky in the Wolfes; I still think Navarro has quality more than enough to play in Memphis but ok I'm not a general manager ).

Congrats to Barça, both basket and football (don't know other sports; maybe hockey and futsal?).
You are on the way to win La Liga, totally deserved. You were better all over the season, you were a lot more effective, played better and atractive football and you have beaten Madrid twice so "el alirón" is frankly deserved.

Drekkard, I know we had various discussions all over the season but this is all about the passion for the game (which is great, football is about passion otherwise there wasn't any reason to be here ) but now it's time to applaud the winners. :WORSHIP:
Congrats!

whats "wrong" with the person laporta? and I dont know if kicking the ultras out of the stadium is a good move, barca in particular needs some action on the stands.

Laporta is amazing! What he has done is indeed great. It's a shame, he can't continue his stay. What he has achieved is tremendous.

Congrats!

But our discussions are great and you are truly a great fan to discuss with! :APPLAUD:

BUT, the title isn't ours still. We must win the last match and this is football, so anything can happen. I'll believe it when I see it.

Congrats to Barça, both basket and football (don't know other sports; maybe hockey and futsal?).

The other sports are handball (great tradition here, we've got the record of 7 european cups and are going to the final four this year), hockey (16 european cups, though it's a sport mainly played in portugal, spain and italy), and futsal.

He's the best president ever in terms of sport. But he has mixed politics with the club in a wrong way. The club has always been the flag of catalonia, but he has tried to take political profit of it (he's going to turn into politics when he leaves the club). That, and some public spectacles he shouldn't have done, such as taking his pants away in the control of an airport when arriving late to a plane. Look, 2 years ago 60% of members of the club voted for him to be sacked. 66% was needed so he stayed and put Guardiola as coach. He has always taken the best decisions but sometimes has done terrible statements.

well, I always rated laporta high though I dont know all the details of course. What are the chances of sandro rosell being president in the near future?

The chances of Rosell being president are VERY high, though I don't like him that much to be honest. Laporta has been great in 95% of his actions, only the other 5% was abysmal.

I think Rosell is a bit like a spoiled child with a lot of money, while Laporta was truly a fan that ended up being the president.

Villa stated the other day he's still got 4 years on his contract so no deals been done yet. Is Ibrahimovic not getting a 2nd chance then?
