FC Barcelona Thread

Dude the third goal is offside (the through pass to Etoo in the beginning) and there was a penalty that Olegario saw as a simulation (laughable) and booked Dani for it.
Bad game from us, expect a lot more in Camp Nou.

Nice to see such a complanings about referess from Barca fans after alot of years, you forgot what means loosing thanks to Inter reminds you, good luck for 2nd round..

Barca was well beaten no shame about that. On the positive they have in the past face this same predicament.Lost 3-1 1st leg in 2000 vs Chels and won 2nd leg 5-1 to go through.

Ouch, a very bad result for us. To me the match should have ended 3-2, specially when in the last 20 minutes we finally played a little as we use to and had 4 clear chances to score. But the ball didn't go in and we had the worst lost in Guardiola's history. Let's stand up and fight back!

The referee was bad in some decisions: he was bad for inter early on and clearly bad for barcelona from the secondth inter goal to the end. But that's how things are, they are human and they may make mistakes for both. Referees are never an excuse.

We should have played more aggressive and attack a lot more in the minutes 20-70. Mourinho did a good job of marking Messi, but it was also due to strange decisions of Guardiola and a very poor attittude of the players. Guardiola has been strangely over-conservative lately and the team doesn't play well. We only know how to play when we play full attack all the time. Mourinho did what he knows and it payed off. Well done by the portuguese coach.

I can't understand why the hell Busquets it's in there, neither. It's by far the worst player we have in the team, and Toure is light years ahead of him. Please, Pep, put Toure in the big matches! The best matches this season have been with Toure in. Yesterday Busquets didn't do a single interception or ball recover of importance and he looses position easily. Enough said.

We are having big mentality problems lately. Attittude is not the correct one, we don't seem to be playing big matches. Yesterday, after the first goals they were so overconfident it sucked a lot. I hate this.

The best part: next week they MUST go and bite the rival 90 minutes, and score lots of goals and play attacking all the time. And I hope we go with the same attittude we had last year against the likes of Bayern and Madrid.

Isn't it because Busquets is a fairly young catalonian? I think Pep understand that Yaya is better, but in the long run it is better for the club to try to make Busquets a great player.

You may have some point there, but anyways if Touré is (and has shown it many many times) a better player for the big matches, why does he insist in putting Busquets? Me and many fans I know have the same oppinion and can't understand that.

Other than this, the only weak point I see in Guardiola as a trainer is that his substitutions hardly make any impact. It's as if he has a gameplan but when it fails, he can quickly improvise a new plan. But that's being picky because he's a great coach and a great trainer.

I know what you're saying, but most fans only look at the present and not the future. Playing big games gives you the most experience so I'm not surprised he continue to play him (if this is his strategy, what do I know).

I think Busquets is a good player, but he doesn't feel like a proper CDM and not as a playmaker either and that is kind of his problem I think.

My main problem with him is that he sometimes loose very dangerous balls, sometimes uses dribbling in excess in a very delicated zone of the pitch and...

Last, but not least, he's a complete waste in positional play. He's never where he's needed and covers only a fraction of the field that Toure would cover. When he has to mark the AMC of the opponent, he always looses him (Snejder made fun of him yesterday). That affects a lot the pression that the team can do and the speed at which the team recovers the ball and where do you recover it. He can learn with time, but now we have a great player, Toure, surely he can put Busquets now and then but mantain Toure in the key matches!

Good luck for tonight's game. We need to do our best and have luck. My main fear is that Pep puts Busquets again as a DMF. Today we need Yaya Touré there playing his best, and we need to be ultra-aggressive and very physicla in the midfield. Let's see how it goes.

PS: Mourinho yesterday did yet another sad spectacle. He tried to ignore the press conference first, then he wanted to do it at his hotel (when UEFA and all the press was at the stadium), then he tried to do it at the same time as Guardiola and finally common sense and the UEFA commissioners finally made him go to the stadium to do the press conference (which is mandatory regarding UEFA rules). He arrived 1 hour later than he had to (for all I hate the press, some of them don't deserve to be treated like that ). We all know he likes to angry people and show disrespect for everything except himself, but that only makes us stronger in our determination to kick his ass again tonight. :BOP:

And by the way, what the hell was doing Figo on the bench on the first round match, talking to the portuguese 4th referee all the time? He had never done that, why now? I have no doubts he will do the same tonight and try to drive spectators mad. I mean, Figo is one of the most hated people in Barcelona for obvious reasons, what is his excuse to be in the bench tonight? I really hope nothing bad happens, but if people wants to stop violence at the stadiums, these kind of things should be avoided. :TTTH:

Anyway I believe in a kind of universal justice, and if that exists, Moruinho has not a single chance tonight. :SMUG:

Its funny that in Italy there is the complete opposite reports. Players like Pique and Puyol are saying things like "They will be scared of playing football" and the Spanish press saying things like "ready for war". Mourinho's first words were "We're here to play football, what war?" Apparently Barca fans didn't allow Inter players to sleep last night by firing fireworks at the hotel.

These kind of things are always blown out of perspective. Either way I expect it to be a fiery match.

Apparently Barca fans didn't allow Inter players to sleep last night by firing fireworks at the hotel.

yeah, i just saw the video on tv. that was pretty low from barça fans.... but i got to say, also quite funny (not for inter players though). :))

anyhow, you're right, it's just a football match. we should keep that in mind and not go "too far".

good luck to barça fans for tonite's match. :))

Probably the same Rijkaard did when went to Frisk's room in 2005...
Luís Figo is a board member of Inter, he has specific functions at Giuseppe Meazza. If he has permission from UEFA I see no problem.

Players like Pique and Puyol are saying things like "They will be scared of playing football" and the Spanish press saying things like "ready for war".

Here is the second part of your sentence drekkard. Your players should learn with Guardiola, a fairly guy only worried about football and not wars.

Anyway, I hope a good football match and Inter to go through.

I didn't know about fans putting fireworks at night in front of the hotel, that's disgusting and I don't like it at all. There are idiots everywhere.

About the players, I've only heard Pique saying "We have to make them hate playing football during the match"; I don't know how they translated it, but in my oppinion is not that harsh. But he should have remained silent anyways.

Otherwise, I heard Motta directly accusing barcelona players of being divers. And to me that's as harsh as Pique statement (even if Dani Alves IS a diver and I don't like it, you can't talk like that the day before a match, accusing your opponents).

I don't see anyone talking about war here at all, neither, so I guess the media are doing their usual disgusting stuff in both sides, which is sad.

But my original post was not about the fans and the press. It was about Mourinho himself being again arrogant and provoking people, which makes it easier for the press and the idiots so sparkle the fire. Coaches, and even more in this situations, should have more common sense and not try to sparkle the fire. I'm glad we have Pep there.

Putting Figo on the bench is totally out of place, and can be understood only as a direct provocation considering he has never done this before and considering his "relationship" with barcelona fans. What's the reason of this?

Special_one: You can try to justify other portuguese or madrid interests at any price, something I would never do. When my players dive I don't like it. When our coach moans to the referee too much I will never justifiy it. When our fans behave like idiots I tell they are idiots. It's easy. Now tell me exactly the reason why Mourinho should behave like an idiot and provoke people putting Figo there by no other reason.

That says it all.
Felt like pay back for last years semis.

Fucking disgrace Inter players were

they were more on field like little kids..

Mourinho just proved how idiotic he is..

GO BAYERN!

Inter played the match they were supposed to.. You can't blame them for having been over-defensive!!

I hoped Barça could have made it, but well.. When Bojan missed that header that I would have scored even myself and when Cordoba deflected that Messi ball with the hand it was already clear that it wasn't going to happen..

PS: Wasn't that Pique goal offside, anyway?

Good show by Inter. Disappointed by Busquets.

Why dissapointed..?

Inter players were much worse today...what was Lucio doing? the same the keeper? the ref should have added 5 + minutes..

Chivu were lying on field like dead..then running like notihng happend

What did Pedro to Muntari to go on knees? simple nothing..

The ref was awfull on the end..

i feel like cheating football is more liked now...

shame and the same for UEFA not looking more on the case of Inter home referee...who surprisingly has an buisiness with Mourinho outside football, being an owner of a restaurant that mourinho also owns in Portugal..

SHAME, now i realy support Bayern in the final..

If Barca were in the opposite position, I bet it would've been exactly the same. This is the typical performance of the underdog in 10 men in a European competition.

I hope I don't see anyone saying Mourinho is a tactical genius,
there is nothing tactical about playing all men behind the ball,
and I also don't wanna see anyone saying player_X had Messi in his pocket,
thats just stupid, football shorts don't even have a pocket.
Just think about it, when you have lots of men helping you to defend what is easier to do?
Defending is easier than attacking period.

Now that said is not like Inter didn't deserved it, because they did and 100% of the credits should go to their players.
Mourinho is nothing but a twat, a really funny twat tho, that scene where he comes and say something to Guardiola is ridiculously hilarious.
Typical Mourinho we love/hate.
Inter players were great, they had great fighting spirit, but Bayern comes close in that aspect, gonna be a great final.
