FC Barcelona Thread

Not sure I agree with average fan wanting to see Arsenal v Barca, tbh it was like watching Arsenal play Hull and Burnley, the foot is on the other foot, even the first leg was a mauling.

Think Inter will give them a good game as Jose will have them geared up for this and I agree with someone above who said it may not be 'pretty'.

"Classico" today in Spain. I hope we beat them, but I fear a lot their effectiveness and most of all I fear the referee. How "adequate" they chose a referee that in 10 years whistling hasn't make a single defeat for Madrid. Not only Madrid doesn't loose with this referee, but also he is openly known to be a fan of Madrid and an old member of the club...

I fear they do like in previous matches, when madrid players go hunt Messi's ankles with total impunity in the first minutes. I fear they injure him as they did last year in the Nou Camp with savage tackles and the referee just lets them do it.

Messi is definitely gonna take a battering tonight, absolutely 100 per cent sure of that.

You'll just have to hope that in one of the rare moments he isn't getting kicked in he produces his magic.

Referee Pedro Proença is a Benfica fan and member of the club since is childhood and he f*cked Benfica champions ambitions last year in a match against Porto at Dragão. No point here.

I fear they do like the all other in the league - "Patadas a Cristiano", hitting the guy all the time. But I don't think a club like Barcelona and their prestigious players will use that to stop him. As you should think the same about us.

Anyway, I hope a good game, a football lesson to the kids and a fair play match. Of course, I hope Madrid wins! :DD

By the way, a shame Kaka' and Ibra are out.

I hope you lot win it, its a great game to watch and anyone who loves football would want to watch it.

I think the difference could come down to Real having more match winners further up the pitch, Messi (Combined with Xavi) at the moment could probably do it on his own though. we'll have to see.

You sure didn't see the matches last year, dude. And as I told you, Madrid hasn't lost in 10 years with this referee. At least you must concede it's quite fishy to put this referee to this match...

But yeah, I hope tha match is played fair by both teams and we see a good "Classico". It will be interesting to see if Barcelona plays domination or if Madrid makes its usual "fury" football that grants them a couple of goals in 10 minutes every now and then. The key will be the pressure in midfield, without a doubt.

I think Real Madrid will win, they've got much more to prove=more motivation

You are playing very well. Totally outplayed. We have no chance in the second half. The only positive aspect is Pellegrini will be sacked.

Xabi Alonso should have been sent off. Gago is tackling everything that moves, and we end up with more yellow cards? 10 seconds to the full time, and instead of letting us kick the corner he whisltes half time? The referee is already pissing me off.

We're winning and dominating, but we're speculating a tad too much, we should go score another one to be sure. Madrid is like TNT, once they explode, you can't do nothing, and we're playing with fire.

Great victory, half the ligue is won, now we have to wrok very hard for the other half and make it true. The referee could have send off some madrid players and I can't get how Messi and Xavi ended up with a yellow and Gago, Xabi ALonso and Ramos ended the match. We could have scored one more, but Madrid also had some good chances in the secondth half. How secure is Valdes!

I'm glad we beat 300 million € with 7 players raised by the club, as last year. This shows how talent, sacrifice and humbleness are far better than money... again.

On a breif analysis: Valdez saved the day; Pique was class; Gabi was good, he made some mistakes (like putting VdV onside and a couple of other stupid errors); Puyol was imperial either has DC/LB or just LB; Dani had some trouble 2nd half with Ronaldo, but handled him quite well; Keita and Busquets were really quiet all match, I actually liked "this" Busquets, at least he didn't recreate with the ball and made a Yaya kinda game, solid defending, securing the ball, and passing it to either Dani or Xavi. Speaking of the master, he can't be human.. i would pay just to watch him play honestly. Such enormous amounts of technique in a single 1,70cm pack is just wonderful. Messi was given the free role and he sure enjoyed it. Broke some ribs (Garay and Albiol, in that first goal, lol, what a killing first touch with the chest) and Albiol was raped by him and Pedro, which showed once again to be a real promess for Real.
Real, just needs some1 to actually manage, and i mean MANAGE (not like Football Manager) the team and a REAL coach. ATM Real is only Ronaldo + Higuain + Casillas + 8.

Messi was impressive not his game play, but he was fouled and could of easily got Ramos sent off. He chose to get up and get on with it must be an Argie thing ,because tevez is the same way get fouled, fall then get back up! Ronaldo was good just unlucky he`s a strong guy.

I'm so happy that barcelona has won this match...another proof that money is maybe important but not the deciding factor...it's about football culture...something barcelona have in abundance and Madrid under Perez not at all...

Well done barcelona. Dont like real madrid either and barcelona is my 2nd favourite team. if arsenal dont win sweet FA im hoping barcelona does

3 more points with an incredibly good first half. 3-0 that could have easily been some more. Great goal by Pedro from downtown. Now it's turn to Espanyol and then Inter. We've got a lot of matches, one every 3 days. I hope no one else gets injured besides Iniesta and Abidal.

Spanish newspapers lying again about the Touré goal: Marca says it was hands when it's clearly seen in TV the he didn't touch it with the hands, but you know, journalists are that stupid.

What a disgusting exhibition, both from Barcelona and the ref... He could only be Portuguese to do such a shitty job today...

To be fair the linesman called 2 offsides for Inter that weren't there in the first half. I thought Inter deserved the win and were far more motivated to win the game.

^^Go and blame other Portuguese:

:BOP:

Dude the third goal is offside (the through pass to Etoo in the beginning) and there was a penalty that Olegario saw as a simulation (laughable) and booked Dani for it.
Inter were better, actually, Inter were above a weak Barcelona. They fully deserve the win but if some1 sees the score, 3-1 isn't really fair for what the match actually was.

Pep was just awful today, both in the first team choice and picking the substitutions... Busquets is CLEARLY the weakest player in the squad yet Pep keeps on playing him ahead of Yaya one of the best dmfs atm. Also Keita was just awful and so was Dani, yet here we can't really sub him without using puyol that was doing a good job.
Bad game from us, expect a lot more in Camp Nou.

Eto'o being booked for kicking the ball away in the first half when he clearly won it..

Over protection for Barca!

Whats wrong with Balotelli and the fans, the last minutes of the game he was doing something with his hands to the tribuns but couldnt see well on tv..

Nice to see you lot getting a taste of your own medicine when it comes to play-acting and refereeing decisions.

Messi did the square root of fuck all as well, marked out of the game.

That said you'll probably absolutely smash Inter at the Camp Nou now.
